OT: Interesting breakdown of teams A5 programs have never beaten

Some pretty funny ones in here, but the Gata vs Cuban Athletic Club story is probably the weirdest.

The second game, which pitted the Gators against the Cuban Athletic Club of Havana a few days later, was never finished. Florida head coach George E. Pyle realized during the first quarter that the game was being officiated using college football's pre-1906 rules, and while discussing this issue with the officials, he discovered that the head referee was the former coach of his opponent. Feeling that playing under those conditions was neither fair nor safe, Pyle pulled his team off the field and was promptly arrested for violating a Cuban law prohibiting a game's suspension after spectators' money had been collected. A trial was scheduled and Pyle was released on bail that evening, at which point he and the Gators quickly boarded a steamship for Tampa, an escape which caused the coach to be branded a "fugitive from justice" by Cuban authorities.
Bacardi Bowl officials declared that Florida had forfeited the game and listed it as a 1–0 win for the Cuban Athletic Club, while the University of Florida declared the contest a 1-0 forfeit win for the Gators.

LOL that UF declared itself a winner in a game it didn't even play in. I don't ever want to hear smack from gata fans about our natty ever again.

Observations From The Stadium

1. Malzahn is regarded as an offensive guru but his play calling is predictable and not entertaining to
watch. Need to remind Gus that it is not illegal to throw the ball on first down.

2.. Would help Plumlee’s confidence to script some short, easy completions early (utilize Tight
End and backs out of the backfield). Instead Gus likes to run on first and second downs and
then force Plumlee to throw on obvious passing down.

3. Our O-Line has been exposed as very average. We better start signing some legitimate
road graders or we will get exposed in the Big XII.

4. Our DB’s are good, not great. GA Tech wide receivers running wide open most of the night.

5. Crowd was good but a lot of fans were disguised as empty seats. Beautiful SATURDAY game, really no
excuse to not be a sellout.

6. Looks like we have finally found our kicker in Boomer. Don’t feel like I have to hold my breath before
every FG attempt.

7. The offense began to show more spark with Bowser out and RJ Harvey in. Hope we see this trend
continue.

Glad to get the W but not feeling confident against SMU next week. We need to make big strides over the
next several weeks or we will end as an 8 win team and get mauled at home by Cinci.

Offensive coordinator we should hire

Chip Lindsey is a stupid hick that hasn’t developed a qb in his entire career. No, Stidham doesn’t count as he was already part of the Briles program. Chip failed at Kansas and Troy, but he worked with Gus so he’s here. He should be fired after that god awful performance by JRP as qb play has gone into the tank.

An oc we should watch is mike shanahan, no relation to the famous broncos coach. He’s a former tight end who got promoted to oc at James Madison last year and has been phenomenal. Runs a mix of ccu and air raid. He’s a young hotshot who will be coveted this year in December.

force Gus to hire someone like him and take a ceo role or move t-will to hc with a young exciting oc

Week 4 Games

Wow. Hawaii may be bad enough to eclipse our 2015 team, which was the worst college football team I’ve ever seen play, and our stats backed it up. Getting drubbed by 0-4 New Mexico State 42-10 with 1.5 quarters left. They also got drubbed by what will also be a bad Vandy team. They are getting shellacked by bad competition.

Have to see if this team can continue to play as bad as our 2015 team. Currently #125 defense and #118 offense.
