Marc Daniels asks for Daunte to "come home" in UCF.edu column

But something remains distant. Someone who played such a significant role in putting UCF on the map and elevating the UCF brand is rarely found on campus.

Daunte Culpepper helped build the program, but on game days and throughout the season he rarely comes home.

There is no fallout or hidden story that divides him from the program. These days Daunte keeps a low profile. He rarely makes public appearances and has dealt with a number of challenges over the years away from football.

...

Daunte Culpepper is the greatest athlete I have ever seen at UCF in my 27 years. I have watched others come and play the quarterback position and play it well. Daunte was just different. He was special. He was one of those players who come along every 25 years — or at least you hope they do.

He gave us so many highlights and played such a big part as one of the pioneers of the UCF football program. Part of what makes Knight Nation so special is how we treat our own. As a new season filled with so much excitement is about to begin, it’s time to for Daunte Culpepper to come home again to a place he helped build and be part of the celebration.

OT- Need ideas on stuff to do in Wisconsin

My wife wants me to go with her for 3 or 4 days to Milwaukee in mid July and trying to decide if I wanna go. She's has a meeting for a couple hours one day and we're trying to decide on where to go and what to do if we stay. We can fly up on a Wednesday and stay through Sunday if we want and mostly just enjoy the weather and eat and drink.

I checked the American Club and the only thing available is running $1,100 a night. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OT: #1 RB in the country cancels UGA OV in favor of TCU and Louisville Visits

I wonder what his rea$on$ were for these choices... Louisville seems to be putting together a real strong NIL program for football somewhat surprisingly. Could be a bit of a threat. Nice to see that our future Big 12 brothers TCU are involved as well.

As far as UCF is concerned in this, Rueben Owens going to Louisville could have a nice side effect for us. We've been competing with Louisville for Javin Simpkins, a composite 4* RB from Miami, and his connection to Louisville seems pretty strong. Maybe he'd change his mind and prefer UCF if it's possible he could get stuck behind a likely NFL caliber RB in Louisville.
