There was a statement in another thread that basically said Geeks don’t support athletics as well as other majors. So I thought it would be interesting to see a breakdown of dungeon members.

Men's and Women's College World Series 🚹🚺

I just realized the College World Series for baseball is now called the "Men's College World Series." ESPN is using the abbreviation MCWS instead of CWS.

I know the softball championship has always been called the "Women's College World Series," which I always thought was kind was of unnecessary because they could easily call it the College Softball/Baseball World Series without having to deal with the gender descriptor. Baseball and Softball are not the same sport.

Anyway, I thought this was a new change (Men's CWS) so I went Googling and discovered it was.

A year ago (2021), this writer complained about the NCAA having a "Final Four" and a "Women's Final Four," etc. Only the women's event had "Women's" on the trophy, logo, etc.

There's also a campaign from the YWCA of Vancouver advocating for "Men's" to be added to pro sports leagues - MNBA/WNBA, etc.

Maybe the NCAA took heed of that campaign or the NBC Sports column, because effective this year (2022), they went to a total rebrand - it's now Men's Final Four, Women's Final Four, Men's College World Series, Women's College World Series, etc.

UCF great Daunte Culpepper embraces new role as ‘biggest cheerleader’

Man. Awesome. Humble dude - I love this and I’m so glad to see him more outwardly engaged with our program

WOT: What movie franchises have you seen every movie in the theater?

With the new Jurassic Park movie just released, I'm curious how many movie franchises are there that you've seen every entry in a theater? Doesn't have to be opening, if it was re-released or given a special showing on the big screen, that counts as well. For this list, it has to be 3 or more movies. For superhero movies, just the actual hero or title is fine (ie Batman, Spiderman, The Avengers). I'll start off with some of mine

Batman (all)
Spiderman
The Avengers
Iron Man
Captain America
Ghostbusters (even the all girl one)
Indiana Jones
Back to the Future
Harry Potter
Lethal Weapon

UCF App

I just installed the UCF App on my phone for the first time and when I go to "View/Manage My Tickets," it says "You have not purchased or received tickets for any events." I bought season tix for football and they've been fully paid for.

Should I expect to see that message at this point or did the tix somehow not get associated with my account?

***Apopka TE Bryce Harrison has another great experience at UCF***

Apopka tight end Bryce Harrison was among the local contingent of recruits that visited UCF recently for Hometown Hero.

"It was really fun," Harrison said. "It was great experience to come out here and meet with the coaches."

Harrison particularly enjoyed the dodgeball competition, watching team highlights and meeting with tight ends coach Brian Blackmon.

He's been a frequent visitor to campus over the past year. He was a standout at a camp last summer and frequently tags along with his cousin Nikai Martinez, who just enrolled at UCF in January.

"He's been giving me a lot of tips about recruiting," Harrison said of Martinez. "He says to stay focused, be patient and my time will come."

Harrison, who has a pair of offers from Tennessee State and Texas Southern, also is getting interest from South Florida, Miami (Ohio), Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Liberty, Western Kentucky, Kansas State and Cincinnati among others. He is looking forward to the spring when coaches can evaluate him again in person.

What does he like about UCF?

"I've been to a bunch of games and it's a great experience," Harrison said. "I like the fans, the atmosphere, just the whole community."

Harrison will return for a UCF spring practice and is also planning to visit Florida State in March.
