OT - PRP therapy questions

I’ve been dealing with shoulder pain for several years and finally got an MRI, which shows a few non complete tears in the rotator cuff. I have a follow up with my ortho doctor next week, but I had a visit with my personal doctor this week, and he suggested I look into PRP treatment instead of surgery.

The problem is it’s not covered by insurance, and when I talked to the doctors office here in Orlando, it’s $500 for the initial consultation and they mentioned there could be a need for a second consultation at $300. They didn’t give any details on potential price for the treatment but looking online I’m seeing anywhere from $5-$10k. Plus they can’t even see me until January.

I’m interested in the treatment if it works since I’d rather not have to go through months of rehab from surgery at my age.

Has anyone here gone through the process and can give feedback, good or bad, and a ballpark on cost?

Went to Rutgers game today

Just some random musings. It was just me and my 3 year old son so we left at halftime. Pretty long drive home too-hour and 15 minutes, and was able to unfortunately catch the entire UCF game. Anyway…

-They’re a bottom of the barrel big 10 team, but I was impressed with their stadium (Shi stadium). Seats 52k. It’s not huge, but probably the right size for their fanbase. Bleachers on concrete, with bleacher backs for the better seats. You could also rent seat cushions for the game. It was pretty basic, but clean, easy to navigate, and had a lot of different food options-Jersey mikes, BBQ, ice cream, typical stadium food, and other stuff I’m sure (didn’t walk around the entire place). Overall it felt much “cleaner” than the swamp and was a pleasant surprise.
-Game script wasn’t kind to the fans getting into the game at all. They were terrible today. Their QB is awful. Wisconsin just ran them over. So wasn’t a loud atmosphere, plus noon kickoff so was more of a family crowd.
-Stadium is about 3/4 of a mile from one of their campuses (Rutgers has multiple campuses spread out through the city-students have to use shuttles a lot). Parking was pretty rough, and I imagine getting out would’ve been a pain if it was a close game and we left at the end instead of halftime.
-Tailgating that I saw was pretty eh, typical northern parking lot tailgating. Again noon game probably hurt that as well. However they do have a cool “boardwalk” area on the main drag heading into the stadium. There was a Ferris wheel, a handful of boardwalk type games, and loads of food trucks.

Overall while the atmosphere was just ok, and it’s one of the smaller big 10 fanbases out there, a bottom of the barrel big 10 team had I thought a nicer stadium than the swamp (and outs of course). We still have a long way to go playing catch up.

Final: No. 3 Iowa State 108, UCF 83 🏀

New poll comes out in a couple hours, we'll see if Iowa State's ranking changes after the loss to WVU.

UCF has a charter scheduled to leave around 2:

Second to none
A timeout at the 7:59 mark in the first half of a college basketball typically goes by without much fanfare, save for your occasional baby race or find the hidden ball game on the jumbotron. But for the UCF Knights, that very moment at the most recent basketball game against Houston signaled something more important than an update on the 50/50 raffle.

Big 12 Football: Head Coaching Grades for the 2024 Season

GRADE: F

GUS MALZAHN, UCF

RECORD (2024): 4-8

It’s probably wrong to give a grade like this to a man who left, but going 4-8 at a place like UCF, which has many great resources, is entirely unacceptable. While Malzahn may have been an elite recruiter, he just had a hard time turning talent into wins. Have fun at Florida State, Gus.

I know social media has its demographics. Facebook was initially for the younger folks until it was not. Now it skews much older. Instagram is where younger people go now. TikTok may go even younger.

In light of the Fake UCF Football Player Imposter, just curious where the Dungeon stands - do you regularly consume TikTok content?
