Today is a big day for high school seniors!

UCF has gone from a rolling admission to Early Action Decision Day. Those high school seniors who applied to UCF will find out today if they are accepted, deferred or rejected. Uf has been doing this for years, and I believe Fsu started a couple of years ago.

It's a big day for future Knights!!

Here are UCF's Portal Class Rankings for the past 2 years and how 2025 Portal Class is trending up, now ranked #19

With Pay for Play Free Agency really kicking into gear the last 2 years...here is how (on paper) UCF's portal class did in the national rankings:

2023: #29 with 15 transfers (Colorado was #1 with 50 transfers and ASU was #6 with 28 transfers)

2024: #6 with 24 transfers (NOTE: Colorado was #1 with 43 transfers and ASU was #5 with 28 transfers)

2025: #34 with 12 transfers (no 4 stars and only 7 of the 12 are 3 star rated as of now). Texas Tech is #3 and Kansas is #5

NOTE: Just like with Rivals HS recruiting rankings...the more players who sign, the more pts you get (believe in HS classes...they rate your Top 20 recruits). Also, Rivals started their transfer class rankings in 2023.

UCF should move up in this year's rankings over the next 2 weeks just on numbers alone but hopefully a few HIGHLY rated players will come here as well.

OT: WOW! Fiber Internet coming to Seminole County

I think Wow! Internet is a UCF sponsor this season. I got a flyer today that said Wow is currently installing fiber lines in my neighborhood. I guess they've been focusing on Seminole County over the past few months and plan to continue building it out.

This will be interesting - Spectrum has zero competition around here as the next best internet is subpar DSL.

I currently pay Spectrum over $200 per month for internet + TV (I do pay for their top-tier sports package but no premium channels like HBO).

To be honest, Wow's $30/mo. plan (100 Mbps up/down) is probably on par with the internet service I get from Spectrum but honestly better since fiber internet doesn't restrict upload speeds. I'm lucky to get 8-10 Mbps up from Spectrum.

Wow has 500 Mbps up/down for $50, 1 Gig for $80, 3 Gig for $100 and 5 Gig for $185.

The $50 plan is probably sufficient for most.

Anybody have Wow fiber yet?

OT: Portugal in 2 weeks (name change again)

My boss said no to me taking 2 weeks of PTO in a row, so I need to change my plans. We were planning on going to Portugal but with only about 9 days to play with it seems like a long way to go and probably only get to see a few places. Has anyone done a 9 day trip there? If so how much and what did you see?

Mexico is always high on our list and we are thinking about going to Puebla and the “Magic Towns” around there, which from what we have seen are beautiful. But we have been to many places in Mexico so someplace new might be nice.

We are older but far from dead, and we would be board out of our minds at some beach resort type of place. We like site seeing, hiking, architecture, history, anything to keep us moving. And good food is certainly a plus! I would love direct flights from MIA or FLL. But even a single connection would be OK but no 24 hour travel times. Ideas, Ecuador, Panama, Columbia, Belize? Been to Costa Rica and loved it. Probably going in May if that matters.

The concept of "co-head coaches"

I posted this in the Steven Moffett thread, but it's pretty interesting. He's leaving Leesburg to become "co-head coach" at The First Academy.

I don't know if I've heard of other examples in football, though I'm hardly a national high school football expert. You've always had coordinators that might taken on a more prominent role (it was always said Randy Shannon was basically considered the "head coach" of the defense). Obviously there was the stuff surrounding "Head Coach in Waiting" which never really became widespread (in large part due to recruiting restrictions to the tag).

In college, I've seen a few husband/wife duos with the "co-head coach" as far as women's sports.

I doubt this is a trend, but interesting nonetheless.

A220-300 (Bombardier CS300) early maintenance issues (Breeze Airways)

Just got hit with a maintenance delay on my inbound flight for the game this week. This A230-371 isn't even a year old yet, but we've got a maintenance delay.

Trying to find out if it's the P&W geared turbine, or the landing gear pins. Although it could be something minor too, it's been 90 minutes.

Sole source engine, no other option, and it's been common enough P&W has had parts supply issues.
