TCU fans tailgating

Was pretty disappointing overall. Yes it was hot, but come on… it’s a team from Texas and the opponent was from Florida… both sides are used to some hot games.

My group of 5 started at their main strip of bars to watch the early game and then proceeded to grab a cooler and walk around campus to see what it looked like as I do at most road games. I was honestly shocked. Very few tailgates across the campus anywhere. What I did like was close to the stadium we talked to a few fans and they said in specific lots you’re allowed to leave supplies in a tool chest during football season so when you show up, you’re usually just plugging in a TV and bringing your food. Some of The tailgate spots near the stadium had cover, built in fans, built coolers and even grills! Nice setup! WITH THAT SAID… The lot closest to the stadium was EMPTY 90 minutes before the game… legit 3-4 cars in the entire lot. Blew my mind!

TCU Fans: Better late than never?

My tailgating and game day experiences are vast and deep. I have been to UCF games home and away since the late 1980s. Based on the experiences that I have had the Citrus Bowl, the Bounce House and stadiums in far flung locations like Tempe and Boise, what I discovered in Ft. Worth was unexpected. What I found was an affable group of people who will show up, but not ahead of time.

Kiffin: Wake Forest violated 'unwritten rule' in buying out game

This past weekend, Ole Miss destroyed Wake Forest 40-6. WF informed Ole Miss the same day that they were not going to do the second part of a home and home series in Oxford next year.

A person with knowledge of the decision confirmed that Wake Forest had canceled next year's trip to Ole Miss and said the school is closing in on alternative scheduling options. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Monday because the school isn't commenting publicly on details.

Kiffin broke the news about that decision in his postgame news conference and was still unhappy about the timing two days later.

"That's rarely ever done," Kiffin said Monday. "I've never really heard of doing it, and it really puts us at a big disadvantage. It is what it is. It obviously wasn't appreciated very much, them putting us in that situation.

"Now we've got to go find somebody and most people are all scheduled up. And even when you find somebody, you've got to go pay them. It's kind of an unwritten rule not to do that, actually."

The decision leaves Ole Miss having to try to find another Power 4 conference -- or major independent -- opponent for next season or seeking a waiver from the Southeastern Conference on that requirement. Getting a waiver would mean facing four nonconference teams, without having an opponent from one of the four most prominent leagues.

"That's not what we want to do, but they may have put us in an unavoidable situation not to," Kiffin said.

He took issue with the timing of the decision.

"I really find it amazing that you wait until the week of the game to tell the team," Kiffin said.

The game was scheduled for Sept. 13, 2025.

TCU = Classy Fans

What a GAME and what a WIN! TCU has a beautiful campus, a hell of a nice and loud/energetic stadium, and probably the classiest opposing fans I’ve ever been around (and I’ve been to countless away UCF games over the last 28 years). So many TCU fans came up to my dad and I as we exited the stadium and shook our hands and congratulated us on a great game. And so many welcomed us when walked the campus beforehand as well. On a side note, we took an AWESOME JFK Assassination Tour on Friday and ate the BEST BBQ on the planet @ Terry Black’s! Dallas/Ft. Worth are GREAT cities. I hope all my fellow Knights who went to the game enjoyed Dallas/Ft. Worth and TCU as much as we did. Now, on to the Buffs. GO KNIGHTS!
