Reminiscing: board takeover prank days

Who was around for those? I remember the take overs every once and awhile and always laugh to myself.

For those that missed it, we did it a few times in a row. We'd pick a rivals board and then just bombard it with UCF post... The reactions from other fans still gets me. For awhile people thought there was some rivals glitch that caused cross posting to happen. You'd go to their open forum and the whole page would be UCF post. "How do you think George O'Leary will do this year." "Will Godfrey have a break out season." etc.

Pretty funny. Although I think we got Brandon in some heat ...

Maybe someone with better memory than me can remember the boards we hit.

OT: Started the Keto Diet anyone have thoughts/suggestions?

Started last Saturday. I have lost about 5lbs in about 5 days. I am a huge bread (carbs in general) guy but I am holding on strong so far. I am using Keto Strips to regulate. I am in ketosis per the strips.

I am and have been for a longtime working out 3-5 days a week. I am strong but as I get older it is getting really hard to shed the weight. There is muscle under the fat somewhere...:joy:

Here are my supplements:
  • The Vitamin Shoppe Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg
  • Magnesium - Natural Vitality Natural Calm Drink - 16 Oz. Lemon
  • Viva Naturals USDA Organic MCT Oil (32 fl oz)
  • Nature Made Potassium Gluconate 550mg
  • Best Creatine 300 g Fruit Punch
  • Ultima Replenisher Electrolyte Hydration Powder
  • Pure Hawaiian Spirulina - 1000mg tablets 180 count
Anyone else been doing Keto for some time? Kind of doing this in the dark and only with internet research. Which I have done a ton.

Don't need any naysayers responding to the Keto diet. I have a good understanding of the good vs bad of it.

The UCF Knights Baseball team won their last mid week contest over Presbyterian College, 22-5. Head coach Rich Wallace was pleased with the performance and hopes it will propel the Knights as they prepare for their final weekend series.

Report here by Nick Williams ... for the Sons of UCF.

Big 12 athletes in SI Swimsuit Issue: Jas Williams (UCF Softball), Rayniah Jones (track)

Now a redshirt senior shortstop at UCF, Williams committed to the University of Oregon on a softball scholarship when she was just 14 years old. During her freshman season, she was named first team All-Pac-12, starting 23 games. As a sophomore she played in all of the Ducks’ 24 games.

After taking her junior year off from competition to give birth to her son, Zee, in 2020, Williams returned to the field for her senior year before transferring to UCF for the ’23 season. Last summer, the California native graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies, and this spring, she earned her degree in sociology.

“When this opportunity came about, I could not jump faster,” Williams says of posing for the 2024 SI Swimsuit Issue. “I was like, I want to do this so bad.”

In sharing her story, she wishes to empower other mothers and athletes in particular to reach for the stars.

“Showing women that you can do whatever you set your mind to and [that] there are still opportunities for you [is my goal],” Williams says. “Just because you have a kid now, you get to do everything with your kid by your side, which is so fun because you get to create the experience with them, as well. My son is here [on set], so he gets to be a part of everything that mommy does, and he’s having the time of his life. I’m having the time of my life … I could not be more grateful that I was chosen to do this and I’m loving every second of it.”

OT: Mavs win Cooper Flagg Lottery with only a 1.8% chance for #1 pick

As the saying goes, you have to be in it (lottery), to win it.

Dallas, with only a 1.8% chance for #1 pick did just that.

Article me tinned how excited Mark Cuban was when they were guaranteed to get a Top 4 pick.. and then it got better.

Magic have #16 and #25 (from Denver) in the Frist Round and then #46 and #57 (from Boston) in the Second Round.

OT: Explain Boat Towing

I posted a couple years ago that we were looking for a boat but since we had a Wrangler with a 3.5k tow capacity, our options were limited until we were ready to get rid of the jeep.
We're looking at F150s & Silverados (feel free to opine on the RAM) but not sure how much tow capacity I should have to SAFELY tow.

Looking at some Regals, Sea Rays (feel free to dissuade me), and open to other "beginner" boats that weight around 4k dry. Realistically how much should a truck be able to tow?

Should I be looking into specific packages? Certain engines? Engines to avoid? How much is it to realistically add on weight wise when it comes to trailer, gas, etc.

Any other beginner boats on the lighter side? We're open to pontoons as well but it feels a bit redneckish (even though I know they're not).

OT: NFL 18 game schedule- with a twist

The Athletic has article on using an 18/16 format for the NFL. It lets the league expand to 18 games- but players can only play a max of 16. Makes an interesting strategy play.

This stood out: Last season, the injury-ravaged San Francisco 49ers had just six players who started all 17 games. And that was on the high end for the league. The Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams had just one player in that category. The Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots had two. Sixteen teams had five or fewer start the full season.
