I can't believe how stark in contrast his coaching his from running a program to running a gameday operation.

He clearly is an elite program builder, with recruiting, brand management, respect across the industry, and roster management.

But on Gameday, something just isn't right. We are out of position on defense, or offense struggles and runs the same plays. He freezes in crucial moments, running swing double pass plays with sophomore receivers at Oklahoma or just giving up on some aspects of the game. It's maddening.

He needs a deep introspection after tonight. We have more bad losses with Gus than good wins. We need to get more physical, get back to the fundamentals, and give play calling to competent coaches otherwise we will never make it it the B12.

A buddy of mine just called me. He is. Cuse fan and asked if I want to go to the Boca Bowl tomorrow night. I really had no intention of going, but the chance to watch usf lose right around the corner does hold some appeal.

Does this guy take accountability for anything? It’s the SAME coach speak every game, while saying nothing. “We didn’t execute well enough to win”. Well, if that’s the problem every week, maybe the plan or scheme is wrong because we’ve heard that all season….and the same result!?

1) Defense Sucks: at what point will changes take place?
2) offense is predictable: every opponent adjusts at the half and shuts it down
3) is he playing the best players, or is he playing loyalty to older guys?
4) our players seem weak and out of shape to finish a game. Is there a strength/conditioning problem?
5) thankfully we have talented receivers, but it seems their routes are quite basic and are never put in the position to get the ball in stride and in space. Is that intentional because your focus is all about the run?


Just a few questions that need REAL answers

I kinda wish more of our guys were doing this on their own. I know BR isn't making anything from it yet, but it is such an easy way for fans to support the players at literally no cost to the fans aside from a bit of time.

Our fanbase is divided....and IMO you fall into one of these categories.
1) we have the group (and after tonight, I'll cross reference those who posted where they sat) that are former college or NFL coaches. You know the guys yelling to snap before the replay and before the ball was set. Or, yelling bad punt when it really was about 40 yards with what seemed like 3 minutes of hang time for a catch and drop. Or, the best of the night, the guy that told my son that our kicker is terrible and needs to quit the fake God stuff cause when he coached he would've made sure he got laid...well maybe that's a good coach, lol
2) The next group are those that live in the past and love to bash the present. Should've rehired Frost. Key was working at 4AM, bet Gus doesn't do that! If only Kruczek would come back! And, Frost, Frost,Gus sucks, Frost. OMG!!! Plies the rapper made fun of Gus (but they probably don't know who he is, lol)
3) The last group claims everything is running its course and will be fine. Donate to the NIL, vote for a HS player for player of the year, etc. Gus is doing things right and the ship will be righted.

So, which do you fall into? Here's what I'll say, the HS football coaches in FL fall under #3. Got a text tonight after the game from a coach I know "damn, thought it would've gone different, but that incoming class will do things." I'm not advocating for you to donate to the NIL (others can do that), but based on what and who I've talked to, the future is bright...and with that To All a Good Night!

I don’t think I want to go through another year watching this horrid run defense. Personally think I’d rather get 2-3 solid LB than a rental QB for next year. Let one of EJ Colson / Riley Trujillo / Dylan Rizk ride with the weapons we have next year and the offense should be okay. And we also get to develop someone young.

If we have the same LB situation we had this year we will not do better than 6 wins imo. You simply don’t win many games with the pathetic display we showed in the run game. And it’s the most frustrating thing to watch as well. So give me some LBs over a rental QB for next year.

I was thinking about how I felt today and was wondering what we would have preferred this bowl season. It’s a past tense poll, but give the state of the program, I thought it would be interesting to see where we are at mentally, and program development (perception) standpoint.

The US should stop providing weapons to Israel, its just prolonging the conflict. Why doesn't Israel just negotiate for truce? If you think about it the USA is responsible for this since we expanded our alliance in the area.
