***UCF MBB adds former four-star prospect as midyear enrollee 🏀***

A former four-star prospect and Orlando native recently joined the UCF men's basketball team.

Antwann Jones, who played prep basketball at Oak Ridge, was spotted on the bench during the UCF-Houston game. While Antwann nor UCF have made an announcement regarding the addition, sources close to the program indicated he joined the team last week and will sit out the remainder of the season.

This will be the the fourth school for Jones.

He signed with Memphis in the Class of 2018 and saw significant action as a freshman, playing in 35 games while starting six. He averaged 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per game.

Jones then transferred to Creighton. He sat out the 2019-20 season due to the rules at the time, then appeared in 30 games during the 2020-21 season, averaging 3.4 points in 10.9 minutes of action per game.

From there, he transferred to Louisiana for the 2021-22 season, but only played in eight games before leaving the program prior to the start of conference play.

It's unclear what he's been up to for the 2022 calendar year, but he apparently has his degree and will be a graduate transfer at UCF.

Jones should have one year of eligibility remaining in 2023-24.

This Random 1994 UCF Football Highlight Reel Surfaced and I'm Here For It

Randomly cruising YouTube and this came up for me. Any of you FIW Bober Home Movies lol? Hinshaw throwing to Whittemore and some other goodies. This looked to be a bad boy season. Young Dali was 7 and we just moved down to Orlando from the Bronx.

The 1994 UCF Golden Knights football season was the sixteenth season for the team and Gene McDowell's tenth as the head coach of the Golden Knights. After the Golden Knight's impressive 1993 season, UCF was selected as the preseason #1 to start the 1994 season. The 1994 season would prove disappointing however, as the Golden Knights would finish the season ranked #20 with a 7–4 record.

The school's famous campus homecoming tradition "Spirit Splash" began (by chance) in 1994.

For those around the program during this time, drop a gem.

Which Football recruit/transfer will have the biggest impact on 2023?

After finishing 1-3 to close out the year and the inevitable Dawkins collapse I need something to take my mind off all the losing. I’ll go two offense and two defense.

Offense:

McClain- Looking at Bohanons stats after he transferred in they were actually worse than at Baylor. I think a Jeff Scott offense sucks to play in and McClain will blow up this year. Not easy to win a state title in FL and he wasn’t exactly surrounded by a ton of talent on offense at Seminole.

Bowman- Got playing time on a playoff team at Clemson and should split time with Harvey. We should have a really good running game next year. Maybe @KnightBuilder can let us know if he’s heard anything.

Defense:

Fred Davis - Got playing time at Clemson and should be able to be a shut down corner. I expect the entire secondary to be much better and more aggressive next year.

John Walker - Dominated HS and All Star games. No offense to Monty but Hunter and Walker should end up being a big upgrade at DT next year.

Favorite record album ever?

What is your favorite record album ever. For you younger people, you use to save all the money you could gather, by walking down the street picking up soda bottles so you could go to the record store and buy a new album. That is how you purchased music.

My favorite and arguably one of the greatest albums ever. Blind Faith! They only made one album but it was remarkable! I would post a picture of it but I would probably be banned for posting child pornography. Anybody who knows the group, knows the album cover, and knows what I am talking about. If not, Google it.

Thought We Were Sold Out

I thought Football season tix were sold out with a waiting list. Shocked to see hundreds of seats available in every section
of the stadium, Why a waiting list? Where is the high demand going into BIG XII? For those of you looking to move/upgrade
your seats, should be no problem. Do we need to rethink our marketing approach? Would like to hear Dungeon thoughts on this.

UCF Hoops "Travel" Recap trying to get home from Cincinnati

Marc described their travel issues at the start of his show:

For penny pinching programs like UCF...sometimes they view Noon road games as an opportunity to save $20 or $40 by flying home via commercial airline later on that night....as UCF's Team had seats on a Frontier Flight #1063 at 8:25 pm on Saturday Night.

UCF got to the airport almost FIVE hours before the flight (what else would they do in Cincinnati?).

While UCF's team was at the gate...(waiting for their plane to arrive from somewhere else)...an Ambulance was also waiting for the plane's arrival. (Crew member fell ill).

After the passengers departed...and the ambulance pulled away...The plane's interior lights turn off (which is never a good sign if you think that plane will be departing soon to somewhere else)...The boarding time was delayed....then the sign at their gate says CANCELLED.

An announcement was made that Frontier would try to get passengers home on a Sunday Night flight or a Monday flight.

UCF had to scramble to find hotel rooms late on Saturday night and then find seats on any airline to get home on Sunday.

On the flights home on Sunday morning (half the team had to fly thru Chicago ans the other half had to connect thru Washington, DC)...UCF's 6' 10" Center Lahat Thione was given the middle seat in the LAST ROW of the plane!!! (The UCF Photographer who was in an aisle seat ended up switching with him).

This is what happens when you don't have much $$ in your basketball budget...as EVERY TEAM in the Big 12 flies charter...and that includes more than half the teams in the AAC too.

Teams in the AAC (and virtually anyone else recruiting against UCF) have used the fact that UCF doesn't fly charter to/from all road games as it does make a HUGE difference in recruiting to tell players that they will be home just hours after a road game has ended.

UCF's game in Cincinnati ended at 2:11 pm on Saturday. but the team didn't get back to their dorms for almost 24 hours later.

If UCF would have flown a charter flight home...they would have been home BEFORE the scheduled 8:25 pm Frontier Flight would have even departed.

Meanwhile...UCF's Team has to fly tomorrow for their game on Wed at Wichita State...and they will fly charter (I think the team would have had a mutiny if TMo forced them to fly commercial) as its hard to get to/from Wichita (just like Tulsa)...without any non-stop commercial flights.
