Gus will right this ship. Y’all need to come down from the ledge.

I still have faith that Gus will finish the season strong. He is here to build UCF. I don’t want another coach that is going to use UCF as a stepping stone. We just joined Big 12 last year. What did yall expect? That we would dominate from day 1? Are you guys that oblivious? Will take some more recruiting cycles with big 12 recruits before we get there. We outgained Cindy by 100 yards and should have won that game in my opinion if not for some bad calls by refs and horrible turnovers by JR. To all you losers out there who want Gus fired, please find another team to root for. We don’t need your negativity! Gus will get things right. And when we start winning again, please STAY OFF THE WAGON!!! YOU ARE NOT TRUE KNIGHTS!!

Coaching Hot Board

Let me start by saying I know we aren’t buying Gus out but curious if there are some good names anyone else has been keeping an eye on. I don’t pay as much attention to other games/teams as I used to.

GJ Kinne - Still think he stays out in TX and TX State isn’t exactly killing it this year but it’s also TX State

Frost - would either side say no?

Doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of other young up and coming coaches.

REPORT: Can UCF beat West Virginia to get one step closer to a bowl game?

With two games remaining in the 2024 season, the Knights have no margin for error if they want to make their 9th straight bowl game appearance.

The task starts with a tough road contest against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Head Coach Gus Malzahn knows his team has to focus on one game at a time if they want to achieve their goal.

Morgantown Recs For Visitors

If you’re coming into to town for the game here is a list of places that I think are solid local spots.

Coffee:

1. Quantum Bean Coffee: fantastic, local small coffee shop where they roast their own beans. They only ever have one barista on site so if it gets busy it can take 10 minutes to get in and out, but it’s great.

2. Mountaineer Roasting Co.: Great local spot that has really good coffee and also does breakfast sandwiches. 5-10 minute drive from DT, but located closer to the stadium side of town.

2. The Grind: Located downtown close to campus and they do decent cheap breakfast sandwiches on bagels.

3. The Blue Moose: located downtown and has a lot of space inside (I haven’t had their coffee in a little while but it was always good).

4. Stone Tower: this place has really taken off! They serve coffee, food, and have craft beer. They also have a large dining area for a cafe.

Bakeries/cafe

1. Phoenix Bakery: my favorite bakery in town! They make really good pepperoni rolls, cinnamon rolls, croissants, and really good pizzas many other items. They sell out quickly especially on Saturday mornings! They are located just outside DT, and down the street from Quantum Bean Coffee, but is TAKE OUT ONLY.

2. Apple Annies (Pierpont Road area): They make all kinds of really good desserts, but they are especially well-known for their cookies! They also have a good family style restaurant with many options

3. Terra Cafe: this is a great option if you’re looking for organic/locally sourced food options, or lighter fare in general. They also serve beer/wine, and they are located on the trail right by a park that is great id you have young kids with you.

Breweries/beer places:

1. Chestnut Brewworks: This is an awesome local Morgantown brewery with a solid selection of fantastic craft beers. Usually has a good/lively vibe on the weekends.

2. Genes Beer Garden: This place is a true local staple. They usually have some live music on Friday nights. True dive bar with cheap beer and hot dogs. This is a local favorite so it gets packed on the weekends/game days.

3. Apothecary: Small indoor beer/wine bar decent snacks/apps. The beer selection is typically awesome with a lot of different options. They also have a large outdoor seating area when the weather is nice.

4. Mountain State Brewing Co*: This is more of a pizza restaurant imo, but they do have a good selection of beer and they make their own. The pizzas are also pretty good and they have 2 locations in town.

4. Short Story (Westover Location): Brewery that also has a bar and serves decent burgers, fries, and onion rings. The Westover location is just across the bridge from downtown. Typically, the outdoor seating is a draw for families, but likely won’t be an option with this weather.

5. Mario’s Fishbowl*: local place with 2 dine-in locations. They are known for their wings and large glasses (fishbowls) of beer!

Pizza:

My personal favorite spots: Phoenix bakery Pizza (take out only), Lefty’s, Pies & Pints, Mountain State Brewing Co., Pizza Al’s

Lunch/ Sandwich Spots

The Dirty Bird: located downtown, this is a delicious fired chicken restaurant that does fried chicken boxes and fried chicken sandwiches. They can usually get busy during peak lunch times, especially on game weekends, and they close for the day when they run out of food. Their sandwich portions are large!

2. Von Blaze: They make great sandwiches with a good bit of variety/options, and are located downtown.

Other Restaurants:

1. Table 9: good food and cocktails with a nice atmosphere near the river.

2. Oliverio’s: solid Italian food, and located on the trail right near downtown. There is usually a pretty lively, packed crowd.

3. Madeleine Marie’s: great food and prices, BYOBeer (no alcohol sold on site), but they have a pretty small dining room.

I know I’m missing a ton, but this is a start. I hope that everybody who comes in for the game enjoys Morgantown.
