I was so fixated on shooting video (and posting it afterward) I forgot I did get a handful of photos from last week's media access. Our next access isn't until this Thursday.

OT: NFL Announces location for 2024 NFL Draft

While Las Vegas hosts the NFL Draft this year on the strip (should be pretty crazy to see) and Kansas City will be hosting it in 2023, NFL announced today where they are taking this 3 day event to in 2024:

2022 Rival150 SG back in play and UCF has contacted him

Dr. Phillips SG Riley Kugel committed to Mississippi State in September but has reopened his recruitment in the wake of a coaching change in #StarkVegas.

I spoke with Kugel last night and he told me that Washington State, Florida, Arizona State, UCF, Georgia, LSU and Creighton have been in touch. His DP teammate Denzel Aberdeen signed with UF and will surely be in Kugel's ears about coming to Gainesville. Also, UF hired Korey McCray from Miss. State and he was Kugel's lead recruiter. However, some sources I spoke with believe that getting Kugel admitted to UF might prove challenging.

I first saw Kugel in the 2019-20 season when he was playing for Coach Andrew Gustafson at Central Florida Christian Academy.

Kugel can play with or w/o the ball. He has great size for the SG position, is an above average athlete, who can score at all three levels. Kugel has good range on his jumper, has playmaking ability and became more consistent while at DP. He's an improving defender and his motor improved over the past 12 months or so.

Clarence and Ginni Thomas

How can Clarence Thomas possibly stay on the court when we now know his wife was texting the WH chief of staff and trying to help overthrow the election? He was also the only justice, and keep in mind this includes 3 Trump appointees, who dissented with regards to Trump having to turn over documents to the 1/6 committee. There is no way he can be seen as a non biased justice going forward. He needs to resign immediately.

Poll: Should UCF have shown gratitude towards Coach Abe upon departure to UGA?

When a coach leaves for another job, you typically don't see lovey-dovey type support, but it seems TMo's initial statement and lack of UCF social media appreciation for Abe have rubbed some the wrong way.

Was this the right or wrong move? Does it make a difference when it's a women's sport coach? UCF obviously didn't fawn over Frost via social media accounts when he left.

Incoming UCF QB Davin Wydner - Interview

Great interview with incoming UCF QB Davin Wydner.

Boomers are dumb thanks to leaded gasoline

At least we have an explanation why posters like @Boston.Knight @goodknightfl (among others) come up with the mind numbingly idiotic things they post.

Summary: Early-life exposure to car exhaust from leaded gas reduced the IQ of around 170 million Americans, a new study reports.

Source: Duke University

In 1923, lead was first added to gasoline to help keep car engines healthy. However, automotive health came at the great expense of our own well-being.

A new study calculates that exposure to car exhaust from leaded gas during childhood stole a collective 824 million IQ points from more than 170 million Americans alive today, about half the population of the United States.

.... The researchers calculated that at its worst, people born in the mid-to-late 1960s may have lost up to six IQ points, and children registering the highest levels of lead in their blood, eight times the current minimum level to initiate clinical concern, fared even worse, potentially losing more than seven IQ points on average.

**Podcast Link Added** Marc Daniels talks/writes how timing and disrespect pushed Coach Abe to UGA

Marc is talking now about his blog this am on how the timing of the UGA job opening (2 days after UCF/UCONN game) and how disrespected UCF's Women's Team was this year in the polls AND UCF's seeding probably helped push Coach Abe to UGA.

From the sounds of it, Noland had a very successful visit with UCF. Seems like a relationship to watch going forward.

Florida State DB Set To Transfer After Reportedly Holding Out Of Practice Due To NIL Issues

I believe UCF was a finalist. He went on to commit to FSU and I remember had a Twitter spat with then UCF verbal Zion Jackson. Said "u g5 bruh ain't on my level."

Sorry, I'm my mobile so I'll just post the link. Sounds like he might not have read the fine print on his NIL deal.

***UCF RB Johnny Richardson looking for more explosive plays in 2022 🏈***

After biding his time as a freshman, Johnny Richardson flashed on to the scene as a sophomore in 2021. The Lake Wales native began the season as a backup to Isaiah Bowser, but became UCF's No. 1 running back option when Bowser was sidelined.

Richardson would end the season with a team-high 733 rushing yards with an impressive 7.0 yards per carry. He was an all-around contributor, leading the team with 23 "explosive plays" of 20 or more yards combining rushes, receptions and returns.

Now wearing No. 0, Richardson caught up with the media late last week. I first asked about his number switch as he wore No. 25 last season. The No. 0 became available when Titus Mokiao-Atimalala transferred out and Johnny said he had his eye on it.

What did he learn from last season, his first as a primary contributor?

"I matured a little more," Richardson said. "I calmed down and learned to take everything slowly and process everything. Be patient with things."

How does he like working with running backs coach Tim Harris Jr.?

"I love Coach Harris," Richardson said. "He's a straightforward guy. He'll be honest with you. He'll tell you what you're doing wrong and what you're doing right too. He's a good man."

I asked what he's learned from working alongside Isaiah Bowser.

"The being patient part," Richardson said. "Like running routes, breaking certain ways, how the linebacker is playing you. Learning how he breaks the linebackers down."

Patience - learning to let the holes develop - is a big area where he's trying to improve this spring.

"I gotta be patient when I'm in the backfield so I can see everything develop instead of just scatting away," Richardson said. "That's the main thing I've got to focus on, being patient with everything."

That's also what he wants to prove in this Tuesday's scrimmage.

"I want to show I can be patient in the backfield, see the holes and hit it," Richardson said. "Finish hard runs."

What was his favorite moment from last season?

"The South Florida game. I got the draw play, broke up the side. It was a big game changer for me and the team."

I asked about who has impressed early on in practice, maybe a newcomer, and Richardson name dropped freshman Jordan McDonald who enrolled in January.

"We've got a freshman running back, Jordan," Richardson said. "He's coming along. He's big, fast. He's doing things right. Being patient in the backfield, seeing the holes, hitting it and breaking tackles. Jordan is a guy I'm watching."

What was the highlight of Thursday's practice?

"Flash (Jaylon Robinson) came across the middle and caught a pass with two people (on him) and finished, kept running," Richardson said.

He continued to talk about the wide receivers.

"They look good," Richardson said. "(Ryan) O'Keefe is gonna do his thing. Kobe (Hudson) is a good slant runner."

Did he have a favorite running back growing up?

"Coming through high school, I was in love with Dalvin Cook," Richardson said. "That's why I was No. 4 in high school. I still love him to this day. I loved his game and how he plays."
