Some great reading for the anti-vaxxers. Bostonstrangler, parade float, the celibate loser, and the unemployed handyman Knighttime

Great article for the conspiracy theorists. It’s easy reading for IT specialists, handymen and those with “3 technical degrees.”

But, but, but mRNA vaccines are bad for people. 🤦🏻‍♂️🙄 WE JUST DON’T KNOW!

OT: Larry Blustein battling COVID

If you aren't familiar, Larry Blustein is a legend in the South Florida high school football scene. He is a transplant recipient, so vaccines didn't help much when he recently contracted COVID.

As many of you are aware, Larry Blustein, is in the hospital suffering with a severe case of Covid. He is currently intubated in ICU. With everyone’s prayers Larry will hopefully get through this and will be back on the sidelines and in the studio making a difference as he has done for thousands of high school athletes for the last 40 years. Larry and his wife are very private people when it comes to their personal lives and have a difficult time asking for help. When Larry is finally able to come home he will need a lot of medical assistance and home care of which insurance will cover very little. His hospital bills are mounting up and now is the time for all of us to say thank you for all that he has done for so many.

Prospect Watch: 2023 Georgia DB Jalon Kilgore

Kilgore lists UCF as one of the teams contacting him every day or every other day. The other top schools doing the same are in line for an official visit with him.

OT: Crazy story about TikTok stalkers

This girl down in Naples is some mega TikTok star and had a stalker come to her home with a shotgun. Her ex-cop dad shot him dead. She's making bank with influencer deals and had to leave her high school (now home schooled) because the stalking is getting out of control.

Zooms?

@Brandon I know not a whole lot to discuss football wise but just curious, have you dedicated any more thought to possibly topic-focused zoom chats or something? I’d love to learn more about Ucf history, stories from past seasons etc.

Just curious! Sorry to bother you or the forum in general- I know you’re busy. the few zoom chats you hosted right when I first signed up a few months ago were super cool and seemed to be highly regarded here so I’d love to see them continue.

Covidiots. Stand up and Own yourself

Called you “sciency” morons out over a year ago for being sheeple idiots under the thumb of idiocracy.

Proudly state your name. And own your position. I have the receipts. And can post them

Best thing I ever did. Distance myself from you subset of Knight idiots long ago.

apologies to all the cool minority set of folks here who didn’t fall for the sheeple scam.
Charge on.

OT- my kid got scammed

When classes returned my son makes a deposit to his bank on Alafaya and the very same day ( discovered after the fact) he gets a magic check For $1,400 . He then starts receiving threatening emails regarding this money ,which he knew nothing about, how they were going to harm him physically and call the cops for him stealing their money .

On that same day between pay pal and Zell there thousands of dollars of transactions. His account goes way into the red and since my wife is also on it we see all this has happened 48 hours after the fact . My son does tell me about the emails and the threats but per their instructions he deletes the emails. ( Side question, can those still be recovered at all?)

He reports it all to the bank as fraud and for over a month we have been trying to get to the bottom of it . My wife pushes him and says we are going to go to the mat for you against the bank and we need to know for certain about the Zell transactions . The pay pal ones the bank did determine were breaches into his account and they covered those..The Zell ones they said he did it because his login and password were used.

He finally says ,Mom, they were threatening me and I paid them. Before any of the skeptics say, well how do you know he wasn't scamming us ? I know because when I called him two days after this went down he was still noticably upset about something and he told me the threats part and was scared they would come after him still. Except he said then he didn't pay them .

Painful lesson learned here . If you have kids in college please share this story . My son works a summer job and we help him during the school year . He has a heart of gold and a genuine soul . He is a bit introverted in part because of his epilepsy. He is a country mouse In the city in many ways. They played my son like a fiddle and he fell for it.

***Mega Recruiting Weekend: Hometown Hero brings elite prospects to UCF***

UCF's 2023 recruiting efforts will blast off this weekend with "Hometown Hero," a Saturday afternoon event that will bring close to a hundred prospects to campus.

The name "Hometown Hero" illustrates UCF's emphasis on recruiting the local Central Florida area. The verbiage was used often last summer when UCF was recruiting players like Nikai Martinez (Apopka), Kameron Moore, Demari Henderson and Ja'Cari Henderson (Seminole), all of whom eventually signed in the 2022 class.

But the event is not exclusive to the local area as players from around the state are expected, as well as a few from outside Florida. There will also be underclassmen visitors (2024, 2025) as well.

Visiting players will tour UCF's facilities, including the Bounce House, while meeting with the coaching staff. There will be games and other fun activities as well.

Hometown Hero is the showcase event, but UCF is also expecting several top 7-on-7 teams to visit throughout the weekend.

On Christmas, UCF secured their first Class of 2023 commitment from Apopka's Kaven Call, a four-defensive end. He was already favoring the Knights, but seeing the Gasparilla Bowl win against Florida pushed him over the top.

"This is big for recruiting," UCF coach Gus Malzahn said immediately following the bowl win against the Gators. "Every day we're fighting against the three in-state schools. A lot of them, the logo is really cool but the reality is, and I believe this, we're the program of the future. That's not just talk. That's what is going to happen."

The Knights will become the state's fourth Power Five school as 2023 is expected to be the first season playing in the Big 12.

"I think what will happen now is these recruits won't just go after the logo," Malzahn said last month. "They'll want to be part of something special and a program that's going (up)... We had a really strong (2022) recruiting class. Our trajectory is going up and everybody knows it. Our fanbase is young and energetic. The future is going to be a lot of fun."

Here's a look at some of the top names expected to visit this weekend.

This list will be broken up into several parts because Rivals can only embed so many recruiting profiles in each post.

FRIDAY

2022 Cocoa QB Davin Wydner

UCF is looking to bring him in as a preferred walk-on. He transferred from Melbourne-Holy Trinity to Cocoa for his senior season, setting the school record with 3,529 passing yards while completing nearly 70 percent of his passes (223 of 320) with 22 TD and eight interceptions.

He is likely an unfortunate victim of the transfer portal squeeze in regards to not having a scholarship spot at an FBS.

7-on-7 TEAMS VISITING

With the big Pylon 7-on-7 tournament taking place this weekend in Kissimmee, there will be many 7-on-7 teams in the area that are expected to tour UCF over the next three days including:

Arkansas Elite
CE Stars (Midwest)
All-En (Texas)
Defcon 1 (South Florida)
South Florida Express
Miami Immortals
New Jersey
NC Team Takeoff
24K
Texas Flex

These teams include DOZENS of high-level prospects that already have a multitude of offers. Several of these players probably would have attended Hometown Hero if not for their 7v7 obligations, so they are squeezing in visits during their downtime. Some of these teams are visiting Friday night, very early Saturday morning, late Saturday afternoon/early evening and Sunday morning.

UCF Basketball Fan Survey

Season ticket holders, or I suppose anybody who bought a ticket this season, should have received an email link to a postseason fan survey.

Nothing real groundbreaking, it basically asked how many games you attended, why you didn't attend more, rating the fan experience, concessions, what sponsors you remember seeing, advertisements you may have noticed, suggestions for improvements, etc.

This was an interesting question:

What day and time works best for you to attend basketball games?

Weekdays at 6 p.m.
Weekdays at 7 p.m.
Weekend afternoons
Weekend nights

WBB would usually play their weeknight home games at 6 p.m., though I can't imagine MBB would ever follow suit. The only game times UCF really is able to choose are the ESPN+ gmes.
