Here is a good chuckle for a Wednesday afternoon

I get the Tampa Bay paper need feed since the bowl and up pops the headline , Meet the USF Presidential Applicant whose number one goal is power 5. I read it and it's like everything else bulls. It's just a guy with 3 masters degrees rambling on about the bulls who applied for the job now twice but some how the Tampa paper gives him street cred. One line in there he said he would go to Tally and ask the legislature for more money for football to bring it up to par with the Gators and Seminoles. 😂 I was like like why didn't UCF think of that years ago?

Insider’s Thread: Florida schools coming after 14 offer 2024 in-state CB Jaylen Heyward

Corner or safety, line Jaylen Heyward up anywhere in the secondary and he’s making the play. Stealing passes for Rockledge during the 2021 season has made Heyward a 2024 national recruit, but one in-state Florida programs want to keep home.

Speed, fluid hips, open field tackling and a headiness for the game that is hard to find; and he gets some carries out of the backfield. Heyward has the speed to be a next level corner and the range to play free safety. Offers have been dropped from teams like Florida State, Pitt, Indiana, Mississippi State, Iowa State, South Florida and UCF ready to find that fit for him in their secondary.

A short drive from Florida’s east coast to Orlando, Heyward made a game-day stop with UCF during the fall months. Heyward shared the experience.

“They treated me like family, it felt like home – it is right by my home,” Heyward said. “They want me to stay.”

Another Saturday trip was taken to Tallahassee seeing Florida State.

“It was a good visit,” Heyward stated. “It was a fun experience. I liked the campus.”

A third program putting in the effort to keep him in the Sunshine State is South Florida. The Bulls have made the trip to his campus to help build the bond.

“USF has come by my school – they like me,” Heyward said. “They told me I move like a gazelle.”

No visits have been set, but safe bets that more in-state visits will be had in the coming months.

First time attending baseball game….thoughts?

Going to take my father in law to the baseball game on March 11th. I haven’t purchased tickets yet but will be very soon. He’s a huge baseball guy and I want to show him a good time. I’ve never actually been to a game before. Any suggestions on where to sit? Is the club worth it and does it include anything? Do I need a parking pass? I’ve also seen people standing against the outfield fence…..do you need tickets to park and “tailgate” while watching the game there? Sorry for all the questions but hard to find info online. Thanks in advance.

Dane Brugler (The Athletic) has Kalia Davis as his 10th-ranked DT in 2022 NFL Draft

Great to see KD getting some love. Even with the injury, KD makes the top-10 for DTs. Story is behind the Athletic paywall.

4-6 Stadium club seats potentially for sale

So the of the short of it is that we had four people back out on us, we were supposed to have a group of six together, but they didn’t go for it this year. I already have 2 seats that are pre-paid (renewed from last year). My wife and I are expecting a baby in August, so we probably will not be able to make any games this year.

So I’m selling either the four or six seats together, for the entire season. It’s $1K per ticket for the entire season. So $6k for all six seats, or $4k for four seats. If it’s the four seats you are purchasing it includes one parking pass, if it’s all six seats then you get two parking passes. (C & E6).

the seat location is 209B, Row 11, seats 1-6 (If you buy just four it would be for seats 3-6).

I wanted to see if anyone in here was interested before I just dropped the four seats and tried to sell the original two throughout the season. I have a couple of weeks until ucf charges me for the other four.

The High school football playoffs are a farce in Florida:

Cocoa a public school of course had to play Cardinal Gibbons and lost long before they actually hit the field of play. Why? Cardinal Gibbons can openly recruit and probably out resources the Tigers 100 to 1. Why private schools play in the same playoff as public schools is a shameful disgrace and makes a mockery of competition! I refuse to watch anymore!

The UCF women's basketball team crushed Cincinnati 74-39 on Saturday to clinch the regular season American Athletic Conference Championship. It's the first AAC title in program history and the first conference championship for the Knights since their Atlantic Sun days in 2005. UCF improves to 21-3 overall and 13-1 within the league with just one more regular season game prior to the conference tournament.

Have A Great Start To The Week ❤️

Heavy news this weekend on the world stage. We are very blessed to be Americans and we have much to be grateful for.

Be a little bit kinder and patient this week in the school dropoff line, grocery runs and in dealing with coworkers.

We are all we have and it’s important to recognize the gift of life and the blessings all around us.

Make it a week.

God Bless and be well ❤️

2022 March Madness bids

UCF Women's team is a lock for the NCAA. UCF clinched AAC regular season title, 1 game remaining on the regular season schedule. Currently ranked in the Coaches Poll.

UCF Men's team needs to win the AAC Tournament if they want a NCAA bid. I think we are in NIT range.

Clearly the Women's team is the better team and we need to support them. Likely hosting a game in Orlando.
The first two rounds will be played at the sites of the top 16 seeds, as was done from 2016 to 2019. (per wiki)
In the bracketology from 2/25, we are projected to be a 7-seed.

On the Men's side, I am kind of torn. NIT bids are good considering where we are as a basketball program. I just think financially with the AAC Exit Fee looming that participating in the NIT is not a great return on investment. We might be in a situation where we could lose money by participating in the NIT. Most of our attention should be on the women's team. As a fan, my money will go towards supporting the Women's team this March. I am okay if TMo decides to reject a NIT bid as a financial judgement. Maybe he decides to accept and spend the money to avoid the negative press of rejecting a NIT bid. Bianchi has been a UCF cheerleader as of late but I think he would be quick to call out UCF for rejecting a NIT bid for the click bait.
