OT - Championship Wrestling from Florida Reloaded

Tampa’s Championship Wrestling from Florida is relaunched and ‘reloaded’

It was once among the nation’s best promotions, starring Dusty Rhodes, Buddy Colt, Eddie Graham and The Great Malenko.

TAMPA — Fidel Sierra and Ricky Santana wrestled for Championship Wrestling from Florida, which was nationally renowned before it shuttered in the 1980s.
Now they are part of reviving the promotion that once helped launch the careers of wrestlers like Dusty Rhodes and Gerald and Jack Brisco.
Well, they are part of reloading it.
Palmetto’s Jeff Weaver has established the Championship Wrestling from Florida Reloaded promotion.
Its next show is at 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Lake Wimauma Convention Center. Tickets are $10 at the door.
The event will feature a mix of those who performed for the original promotion, current established stars and up-and-comers looking for their shot at the big time.

Sierra will be a ringside manager as part of the show. Santana will make an appearance, too. Both also work backstage as mentors.
“For me, I’m like a coach behind the scenes,” said Santana. “I’m like that former football player who returns to his alma mater as coach.”

The promotion’s inaugural event in July had the same mix, with former CWF bad guy Kevin Sullivan making an appearance and mentoring young talent.
Weaver said he chose to add “Reloaded” to the promotion’s name for two reasons.
WWE owns the rights to most of CWF’s classic footage and the name Florida Championship Wrestling, which was once the WWE’s farm league promotion.
“I just wanted to avoid any legal issues because CWF and FCW could be similar,” Weaver said. More importantly, “we’re not the original guys. We’re the new guys in Florida. We’re the reload. We’re bringing it back, continuing the tradition, but also introducing new stars.”

OT: FL Sales Tax Holiday Dates to save on UCF Tailgating/Camping Gear, Clothing, etc...

Also includes dates for those looking to make big purchases on computers, generators, COOLERS, Tents (tailgate tents), and even tickets to sporting events and concerts.

Also, no sales tax on UCF clothing attire on items less than $100.

This is going thru the FL Legislature and most likely will be approved (some are approved most years too)

UCF NIL Commercial During the Winter Olympics

This Rayniah Jones Addition Financial commercial below is getting shown a lot during the prime time Olympics. I think this NIL is really going to help bring a lot more awareness of UCF in the Orlando area in a great way with more NIL deals in the years to come without any advertising being spent by the University:

Final: UCF 76, Tulsa 67 💘🏀

Happy Valentine's Day! UCF hosts Tulsa later today, a makeup game for the one postponed in January when Tulsa had COVID issues.

Remember the Valentine's Day game in 2009 - also against Tulsa - when A.J. Rompza hit a last-second floater to win the game?

OT: Best/Worst Valentine’s Day Stories

I hate arbitrary holidays but it’s always a good move to show other people you care for them and shower them with love and appreciation.

Back in first grade Catholic school while living in the Bronx, I was sweet for a curly haired Jewish girl named Krystal who went to the Hebrew School nearby. She was always nice to me and I loved her hugs. My uncle had a soldering tool and carved out an outline of Snoopy from wood. I painted it to look like him and wrote on the back Happy Valentine’s Day Krystal ❤️ Your Charlie Brown. Fast forward to a week later, Snoopy is being used as a door stopper at the entrance of our Church.

Gutted.

We lost touch after we moved down to Florida 2 years later. I still think about that girl and what could have been with this gentile had we not moved to the Sunshine State.

That’s my non-existent Chosen People Westside Story.

Any tales of unrequited love or good memories from Valentine’s Day?

Much love ❤️

Troy Ford Jr., one of the top linebackers in the 2023 class, visited UCF last weekend and saw the win against Tulane.

The prospect from Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day picked up an offer from the Knights earlier this season to go along with full rides from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

"It went really good," Ford said about his UCF visit. "The thing that stood out the most was how much time I was able to spend with the coaches. I had conversations with the head coach and more."

In addition to meeting with head coach Gus Malzahn, Ford connected with defensive coordinator Travis Williams and defensive ends coach Kenny Ingram.

"Their message was that they were really excited to have me down there," Ford said. "They are really trying to build that program down there. They talked about how they would use me as a linebacker that can also come off the edge."

Ford has also visited South Carolina, Tennessee, Notre Dame this season.

Calvary Day had a perfect 10-0 regular season and will face Mount de Sales Academy this Saturday in the first round of the playoffs.
