UCF Receives More Than 20,000 Bowl Ticket Requests in 48 Hours

Press Release:

UCF Athletics received more than 20,000 ticket requests for the Knights’ Dec. 23 postseason assignment against Florida in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl to be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida (7 p.m. ET on ESPN). All those requests came within the first 48 hours following the bowl announcement and prior to the 5 p.m. Tuesday priority deadline.

Here are details on 2021 Gasparilla Bowl tickets:
  • All tickets requested by Shareholders Society members and season-ticket members will be fulfilled through the UCF allotment in the lower levels of Raymond James Stadium (100-level and 200-level sections). Seating locations will be based on based on priority points. E-mails will be sent Saturday with seating locations.
  • UCF worked with the Gasparilla Bowl to secure an additional allotment of 300-level seats (on the UCF side of the stadium) for individuals who requested tickets through UCF but did not meet the priority point cutoff. Those fans will receive an e-mail Saturday at 9 a.m. ET with a link and code to purchase tickets directly through the bowl. Those tickets are available first-come, first served.
  • UCF sold its initial allotment of student tickets. Students whose orders were not fulfilled will receive an e-mail at 9 a.m. ET Saturday to order exclusive student tickets directly through the bowl.
  • Seating locations were allocated by priority points in the following order:
    • 2021 Shareholders Society members (ranked in priority point order)
    • 2021 Football season-ticket members (ranked in priority point order)
    • 2021 ChargeOn Fund donors who are not football season-ticket members (ranked in priority point order)
    • General public (ranked in order by request date/time)

“We’re thrilled to be able to meet the huge demand from our Shareholders Society and season-ticket members, as well as supply a link for other UCF fans who requested tickets within our allotment,” said Terry Mohajir, UCF vice president and director of athletics.

“As we transition to Big 12 Conference play in the coming seasons, we expect increased demand for season tickets, away game tickets and post-season tickets, including bowl games, conference tournaments and NCAA Tournament appearances. We appreciate the overwhelming response from Knight Nation for our bowl game this year—it’s a tribute to our growing and loyal fan base. Your support allows us to continue to dream big and provide the best services for our student athletes.

“It’s certainly accurate to say that interest and ticket demand overall have been very strong this year. UCF fans have a history of showing up in big ways for bowl games, especially considering our most recent showings in Atlanta (Peach Bowl), twice in Glendale (Fiesta Bowl) and every opportunity in Tampa.”

** Sold**Gasparilla Bowl Tix 200 level

Hey all,

I know we have a ticket exchange but considering the amount of people needing tix I thought I'd post here.
A friend has 3 tix Sec. 213 Row F Seats 16-18. He wants back what he spent which was $200.00 for all 3.
PM me if you want them. Good deal too. I'm shocked at how high I'm seeing some resellers listing for this game. Wow.

While we wait on Gasparilla Bowl seat assignments...

I'm curious how you seat the 20,000 orders?

This was UCF's original allotment. For this exercise we'll presume all seats are the same price in the 100 and 200 levels and there are enough seats for all orders. Seat orders can be as few as 1 and up to 8 max (no exceptions)

Seating is done by priority points with the higher priority points getting the best seats first and filling the next best seats with the next best priority points until all seats are filled.

So explain how you decided where to start (the "best seats") and then filled the remainder of the orders.

Have fun! 🙂

Clock Ticking for CFP Expansion

Starting in 2023 UCF can make the 4 team format if they go undefeated.
If the CFP is expanded to 12 teams UCF has a good shot at making the Playoffs with one loss.

***TJ Bullard 'extremely excited' to be a UCF commit (interview)***

The third visit was the charm for TJ Bullard.

The Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep linebacker visited UCF on two prior occasions this month and returned this final weekend for his official visit, saving this occasion for his verbal commitment.

"I decided to tell the coaches on Saturday night when we were at dinner," Bullard said. "I told Coach T-Will and Gus (Malzahn) privately I want to commit. Then Coach T-Will stopped the whole dinner. There were other recruits there as well as it was a big official visit dinner. He was like, 'We have a commit!' We did the 'Boom, Charge On!' thing and I posted it.

"Everybody went crazy. Coach Gus, all the coaches. Everybody greeted me. It was a cool experience. The whole weekend was amazing. I was happy to be there and be there at my future home."

Bullard also had offers from Cincinnati, South Florida, Louisville, West Virginia and several others. UCF quickly rose to the top after he met the coaching staff.

"I love that it's close to home," Bullard said. "The coaches and the football players made it feel like home as well. I truly believe UCF is going to be playing for a National Championship soon and I want to be a part of that. I'm extremely excited to be committed to UCF."

His family is on board as well. His father is former University of Florida defensive end Thaddeus Bullard turned WWE wrestler who goes by the stage name Titus O'Neil.

"They feel great about UCF," Bullard said. "My family is really excited. It's close to home so they can go to all my games. They're ecstatic about this."

UCF junior linebacker Tatum Bethune showed Bullard around on his first unofficial visit so it was fitting that he would also serve as his official player host this weekend.

"Tatum really did a great job of taking care of me," Bullard said. "I also hung out with Ryan O'Keefe, Jeremiah (Jean-Baptiste) and a bunch of other players too."

As for his future position, Bullard will be what UCF calls the "money linebacker."

"I'll line up over the tight end," Bullard said. "A linebacker that will be able to move and be in space. It depends on the formation of the offense, but I'll be a versatile linebacker."

Bullard recorded 30 tackles over six games as a junior.

"(UCF likes) the way I run, my speed," Bullard said earlier this month. "A big thing is how I'm not afraid to hit. I come down and lower the boom. They love my versatility, how I can cover and rush the quarterback."

One of his Berkeley Prep teammates, Xavier Townsend, also visited UCF this weekend. This was Townsend's fourth official visit as he's also been to Iowa State, Louisville and Vanderbilt.

"He's one of my best friends," Bullard said of Townsend. "I'm working on getting him in here. Coach Malzahn loves him and thinks he'd fit right in. He's going to go where he wants to go, but I want him to be my teammate and possibly my future roommate."

Townsend is listed as a running back, but Bullard says you can consider him an all-around offensive weapon.

"He plays slot receiver and he can play running back as well," Bullard said. "Receiver is his strong suit. He can make crazy catches with great moves. He's one of the hardest working people I know. I work out with him daily. He's really an awesome teammate to have. He's one of the fastest players you'll see as well."

Bullard becomes UCF's sixth Class of 2022 commitment, joining offensive lineman Miguel Maldonado, quarterback Thomas Castellanos, defensive lineman Jamaal Johnson, wide receiver Tyler Griffin and offensive lineman Cade Kitler.

Long, lean and muscular frame with plenty of room to fill out. Looks like an athlete who could play multiple sports at a high level and tests like it, too - especially as a runner. Translates to a versatile defender who can play throughout front-seven, though most at home as pass-rusher. Great anticipation, first step off ball with long stride to cover ground in a hurry. Good short-area explosion and can finish with power. Wants to win with speed off edge while long arms and above-average hands make up for lack of size against linemen. Not a redirector in space or built for coverage on routine. Smart player with fiery personality. Will have to work to add mass to become three-down edge player. Could make early situational impact on third downs before developing into hybrid edge linebacker and projects as a middle-round NFL Draft pick.
