OT: Survey about NIL for UCF Student

What’s up, I’m a student at UCF who waited till the last minute to complete my research paper so I’m scrambling for survey responses. Below is a link to the survey, it’s about NIL in college athletics I would greatly appreciate it if you guys filled it out since all of you fit the intended demographic (college sports fans).

Hypothetical - 2021 Milton as QB

Imagine if DG had transferred last spring and KZ stayed for this year. Based on what we saw at FSU, and assuming he stayed healthy, what would our record have been this year?

And, if you think our record may have suffered, would you have willingly made that trade to allow the GOAT to finish the story here?

My take is that even though he wasn’t at his pre-injury self, I think we could have won every game we won with him at QB, and maybe his experience would have gotten us past Navy as well. Probably not enough to get us past Cincy, or even SMU the way that game went, but the Louisville game would have also been tight as it was with DG.

Regardless of the final record, I would have celebrated it all to allow him to finish his career at UCF.

I think Gasparilla and Fenway are probably the most likely but listed all the options. I'm thinking any Texas game is out.

Thoughts on the 2

Reading and viewing the many tributes posted yesterday to Otis, I saw several social media comments in the tributes to retire the 2. I woke up this morning with thoughts on how to HONOR Otis and the 2 instead. It's too easy for future generations to lose the connection to why a number was retired.

Certain numbers at some programs have special meeting. Why not honor Otis by making the 2 special? We alumni and fans could donate to endow a unique scholarship in Otis name. The team and coaches can decide each season if a player has demonstrated that same love of program, school and the game as Otis to honor Otis memory by wearing the 2, for a game or a season.

Should the program just retire the 2, or make it meaningful? There are people here with connections to the team, the coaches, the foundation, and the players. Is this or a similar idea the way Knight nation want to honor the memory of a player that touched many?

Favorite Otis Moment

Like many of you this news hit hard. Otis really ushered in an era of success for UCF. I feel like sharing his top moments would be a good way to honor his work. Whats your favorite?

mine was during the Peach Bowl, i think we were down a score and milton threw a slip screen to otis. He ran a good 10 yards and was met at the 2 yard line but kept churning his legs and eventually the entire offense pushed him into the endzone to tie the game. We never lost the momentum after that play and eventually won. RIP juice
