He averaged 3 losses at Auburn if you take out Alabama and bowl losses, which I think is fair. It’s 4 loss Malzahn btw. Last time he lost less than 4 was his first season at auburn.
“3 regular season loss malzahn not counting Alabama” or “4 loss malzahn”. either works. He averaged 3 losses at Auburn if you take out Alabama and bowl losses, which I think is fair.
That I would agree on.If we somehow lose to usf next week a fire thread is warranted.
It’s going to be a more interesting game than we would have hoped for because USF has found their QB. Their defense is awful but we just found a way to make a bad defense look goodIf we somehow lose to usf next week a fire thread is warranted.
Disagree. While I hate some of the performances this year, Gus is recruiting very well, including taking us to a new level with local recruits who seem to appreciate his recruiting approach. We beat Tulane, Memphis and Cincy this season and Florida last year. So I would suggest let's not be rash.If we somehow lose to usf next week a fire thread is warranted.
Recruiting well works out great for Miami.Disagree. I'd hate to be like Auburn, firing Gus and possibly ending up worse off.
Jumbo had a historic recruiting class..how's that working out.. don't matter how you recruit if you can't coach.Disagree. USF QB threw 21 straight completions against Tulsa yesterday. It’s going to be a more interesting game than we would have hoped for because USF has found their QB. Their defense is awful but we just found a way to make a bad defense look good
QB may not matter w Gus’s Hs playcallingIt's not a disastrous year (assuming we beat usf) but it's not a great year either. We're not going to have a great season again until we find a great QB again.
1 pass attemptCall Gus whatever you like, I’m guessing he’s now in the record books for “losing at HOME against a 3-7 team who had 0 completions/passing yards!
+1 way worse than the ECU game loss since this was at Home and the coaches knowing the stakesThere is no excuse for the game, the team already had a wakeup game a few weeks ago, it was played at home, senior day, it was against a team you would want revenge for the previous year.
However, in ever facet of the play and coaching the team sleepwalked. There is absolutely no reason to not believe this type of game won't happen at any time in the future.
There were people in this room who said that Heup can't coach. How's the wisdom of that working out?Jumbo had a historic recruiting class..how's that working out.. don't matter how you recruit if you can't coach.
Already resigned that we will be lucky to make bowl games next few years. Excited to check out new bowl venues though.Thing is… we should enjoy this, because if the team doesn’t get better over the next few years, this may be the last time for awhile that we have merely 3-4 losses… in the big 12
And knowing what Navy's going to do on offense and defense and yet not able to do anything about either one. Everyone could see what was going wrong in ECU game and everyone could see what was going on in this one. Neither time did we have an answer. Is that players or coaches?+1 way worse than the ECU game loss since this was at Home and the coaches knowing the stakes
Our defense played well overall - this was an offensive failure today. And knowing what Navy's going to do on offense and defense and yet not able to do anything about either one. Maybe you just woke from a coma, but we aren’t going to the cotton bowl.I'm okay with 3 losses if we make the cotton bowl and win it
It's still possible actuallyMaybe you just woke from a coma, but we aren’t going to the cotton bowl.
You’re speaking too rational for this forum. There were people in this room who said that Heup can't coach. How's the wisdom of that working out?
Gus can coach, but I do believe that overall his game planning does need some tweaking. If we are looking for a coach who never loses a game, or even wins every game that he should win then we will be firing coaches very often. Moreso than inability, constant turnover is also the enemy of success.
I don't think that too many people on this forum disagree about his game planning or that too much turn over in coaches is not a good thing. You’re speaking too rational for this forum.
Having "it" as a QB means you can put the team on your shoulders and carry them. When you don't have a QB that has "it", you're going to have some perplexing wins and losses. It's hard to find QBs that have "it". It's not like you can just pick them out of a lineup in advance. Some have the potential to have "it" but never get there. Some have the drive but their physical skills/abilities limit them from having "it". Right now we don't have a QB with "it". That doesn't mean we can't have success, though. It will probably limit the level of success, though. We knew going into the season that yet another new QB was going to start. That in itself is going to mean growing pains. If you were to tell me we might be playing in the conference title game that's a positive in my book. I hope it happens but it's out of our hands at this point. We just need to regroup and pummel USF next week. I mean, yeah, we choked yesterday. Blame the coaches, blame the QBs (both of which looked "flat"), blame whatever. It's just one of those perplexing losses that happens when you don't have a QB that has "it".
“3 loss Gus” & “4 loss Gus” have a better ring to it….George 2.0 is even reasonable...it makes 2017 & 2018 (and even 2013) even more special…at least those seasons happened in our lifetimes!!!Alive and well, wow. Until he proves me otherwise, he’ll always be this to me.
