60k Homicides in Brazil a Year

You are bringing up the Taliban who sleep in caves to make a comparison with modern American society fighting off tyranny? cmon man. Anything that gets close to tyranny in this country is going to be toppled with information, not some rednecks AK in Arkansas

And I have a family member that has worked in Latin America his entire adult life so I'm well aware of the Farc, Panama, Venezuela, etc

I have no reason to believe this country will ever come to another revolt while I’m alive. However your viewpoint is incredible narrow and naive. In 2011 the protestors in Syria thought they could topple Assad with protest and information. After all, Syria was considered a modern, progressive, and inclusive country that didn’t really have the sectarian divide of other countries nearby.

And I haven't followed all the details but Brazil already had one President recently resign early without any threat of some militia dream civil war but mostly with peaceful protest(& I'm assuming info being uncovered). That fighting tyranny argument is laughable in today's America with the technology the Military has now.

Venezuela is a whole other discussion.
vietnam, syria, afghanistan, all say hi. there are other conflicts as well, but basically you are wrong. oh remember that time they bundy ranchers stood off with the gov in 2014? gov backed down then too.

if you think cops and military personnel will just fall in line and follow orders, you obviously havent spoken to many cops or military personnel. i believe both skew conservative.

So what tweets will topple the corruption in Brazil? How are criminals that control Brazil any different than those in other third world countries?

It just came out that nearly the entire Brazilian Government was taking illegal payments from the state owned oil company. At a time when a lot of the country is slipping further into economic turmoil. This coming after the government just shelled out billions for the absurd Olympic Games and World Cup to build venues and infrastructure that are already obsolete and desolate.

Clearly the people just need a few more directed Tweets and IG posts to clean this up.

Tweets did help get Trump elected so maybe they are on to something?

The point @Poolside Knight is trying to make here is yes Latin/South America is corrupt and social media has helped to highlight this corruption. There has been an intense focus on corruption in places like Brazil mainly because of Social Media and the new found rejuvenation of freedom of press currently sweeping through the region.

No, tweets aren’t going to stop the corruption. But they’re a good way to force a discussion and narrative. It’s a start.

you said that much better than he did. and that is fine, i hope it leads to some change. but lets be real, its not leading to drastic change.

Not by itself and not yet. But you never know what’s going to happen. There is a reason places like China try to control everything online like social media. It’s probably the best avenue available to organize regime change.

Of course social media can highlight these things but that is not what he was arguing. He was saying a government overthrow or revolution would be easier with cell phones than guns.

only good thing to ever come from Brazil was the Brazillian butt lift.
