Whether it's 'what the hell we're teachin' 'em' or 'who the hell is comin' into our country,' it's always been 'the same ol', same ol' throughout our nation's history.
I actually meant to quote one of the posts about the blogs for that response, but still, Desantis talks about freedom a lot, but not real sure he actually knows the definition of it.
His definition depends on who's "freedom" is at stake and who the "freedom fighters" are.
Like any candidate, the majority of voters are party ticket punchers, few party-line crosses, independents are swayed by a key issue or two that matters to them.
There were barely any ads against DeSantis. Crist spent more money attacking Fried than DeSantis early in the campaign then Hurricane Ian hit and Crist literally quit campaigning to follow a ‘tragedy code’ while DeSantis was walking around in campaign vests along wiped out Fort Meyers Beach.
I have a hard time remembering a politician who has been more recycled than Charlie Crist. Did the dems here in this state REALLY think he had a shot to beat Ron?
Some political pundits from outside of Florida looked at the Florida Governor's race results and said, "Wow, look at how easily DeSantis won reelection--he's clearly a POTUS contender!" Others -- especially folks inside of Florida -- looked at the same results and say "Wow, Charlie Crist really sucked!!!"
There's no telling how much money Charlie made just to be the loser. Dude, save for one election, has been a lifelong loser.
Once upon a time, racists were at least subtle in their attempts to rewrite history (i.e. "Civil War was about States Rights.") Nowadays, not only is it blatant -- albeit with a new, less-stigmatizing 'PC' name (Anti-Woke), its aggressively "in your face."

This past weekend I watched a show that featured a couple different roundtables of 2016 and 2020 Trump voters. They were asked what 'woke' meant and all of them struggled to define it (at least on camera) for the interviewer.

DeSantis got reelected because he was running against a has-been AND because folks admired the way he worked with Biden to get help for Florida after the devastating hurricane.
Maybe its just me, but I'm inclined to think a Disney or Universal-employed inspector would be much more motivated to do it right instead instead of half-assed than some run-of-the-mill, state inspector would.
