How dumb do you have to be to not know that you're allowed to talk about monkeys but not allowed to refer to a black person as a monkey.
How about lowering entrance criteria to colleges for blacks because you feel they can’t possibly meet the same standard? Then doing the same for standardized testing throughout their educational career.Curious. What would be racist in your book? Like something you would say to yourself "Damn, that was racist" and not just SJW being shook.
You stupid mother****er he didn’t refer to him as a monkey . Incorrect. There's many people on both sides who make this board intolerable.
By that logic, it's not ok for DeSantis to say the "n" word, but it would be ok for him to claim that Gillum "# rigged" his campaign. Ok, got it.You stupid mother****er he didn’t refer to him as a monkey . You and your little crew of liberal pussies make this place impossible to participate and actually enjoy it
...and the same people are on the same side of racial divides again. Hmmmm...
This would all be shocking if it didn't keep happening over and over and over...
By that logic, it's not ok for DeSantis to say the "n" word, but it would be ok for him to claim that Gillum "# rigged" his campaign. Ok, got it.
Really? Ok, I'll lead you to water, but I'm not overly optimistic that you'll drink. BT said that DeSantis didn't refer to Gillum as a monkey insinuating that it's somehow ok to indirectly refer to someone by an epithet. It's akin to when my wife says I'm acting like an asshole. I tell her all the time - well, not that regularly - just call me an asshole. What does your post have to do with what BT said?

We'll agree to disagree then. I never said the guy was trying to placate a base or anything of the sort. The phrase is completely innocuous in itself - I couldn't agree more; however, it's not "in itself". I can look at my kids and say, "Hey, stop monkeying around!" But, I'm sorry, I would never look at my cousins (who are of mixed race and with whom I have personally witnessed both blatant and passive racism) and tell them the same thing. No one with half a brain cell, no one who has a modicum of empathy, no one who understands what the word means to people of color would EVER use that term. That’s because she is calling you an asshole. It’s not that hard to grasp and it’s infinitely more direct than what we’re talking about. That’s not even remotely close to what happened here with DeSantis, who used a phrase that is innocuous in itself, but has been taken to insane heights thanks to the people applying the context that they want.
Riddle me this: if this guy is such a Trump fan hardcore racist in the first place, then why would he need to hurl racist comments to “shore up” his RACIST! Base? It’s an insane argument. And why would he immediately push back against these racist claims if that’s what he was going for? Seems like that’d lose him cred with his “racist base”!
Reminder: as everyone here heaps praise upon McCain, I’ll just remind you that Obama and the Democrats spent the better part of a year insisting that HE used racist dog whistles and was a racist too.
It’s a tired, pathetic part of the play book

Oh, the old "they say it so we should be allowed too" argument.Ok then. My sister in law is black and their children are mixed race as well. They played me “monkeys jumping on the bed” not more than 4 months ago when I visited them in Westchase. They’ll be devastated when I tell them that they’re self hating racists.

Is f@g chicken and your sjw hatred for 85 scripted and vice versa? Its disingenuous to say he was attempting to call the guy a monkey. Still a stupid phrase to use, but I wouldnt say racist.
Do you feel the same way about lowering entrance criteria for legacies? How about lowering entrance criteria to colleges for blacks because you feel they can’t possibly meet the same standard? Then doing the same for standardized testing throughout their educational career.
I guess when taking kids to the zoo on field trips the monkeys should not be mentioned if any blacks are on the property , got it
Nobody said that . It’s ridiculous and desperate .Just try not to tell the “blacks” they look like monkeys or they’re behaving like monkeys and you should be okay.

You talk enough you will slip up. The old saying was don't throw a monkey wrench into the situation.. The statement had nothing to do with race, and those putting it out as racial slur know it.It blows my mind that politicians don't know how to speak. As much as I hate DeSantis - I don't think he meant it racially. HOWEVER - it's a big mess up already on his behalf.
It's going to be a crazy race.

You forgot the clean part of Joes statementAs Fab has already pointed out, Obama's very own eventual VP said things that were FAR more racist than this remark. Remember when Ole Joe B was remarking how awesome Obama was, since we finally had a black guy who was "articulate"?
If someone came out and made a derogatory remark about someone that is purely attributable to nothing more than their race, then that's obviously racist. It's not hard to identify when you hear it.
That's the polar opposite from what we have here, where a guy used a phrase that's been used before in non-racist context, but certain people are applying the context they need to see racism. Or paint him as a racist.
What, that someone giving the school millions so their one kid can get in is the same as making separate rules for an entire race of people, based solely on the color of their skin, that convey the sentiment that they aren’t good enough so you’re going to create special rules for them?Do you feel the same way about lowering entrance criteria for legacies?
They can sing that song. You can't.Are you seriously suggesting that me or my nieces should be triggered by a nursery rhyme?
Wow. Disgusting. Here’s more racist propaganda and content to go into faux hysterics over. You guys better start that boycott campaign against ABC to get this removed forever!
Also, by asking this question in response, are you implying that there is a racial component to legacies?Do you feel the same way about lowering entrance criteria for legacies?
