FL House passes bill to allow grocery stores to sell liquor

First of all, whoever mentioned Winn Dixie is goofy. No one goes to Winn Dixie (besides the name sounds racist). Secondly, I've been to a boatload of different Publix stores and have never seen one with liquor store. Are there any around locally?

434 & Montgomery Rd over by Wekiva Springs. The one on Lake Mary Blvd and on International in Sanford have liquor stores as well.

There is one at the Aloma Publix near 417. I go to the one in Lake Mary.

Truth be told, Publix liquors is ok. Their beer selection is below average and the prices aren't competitive with ABC or Total Wine. I frequent the Total Wine in Altamonte much more. Got a handle of Evan yesterday for $16.99, as a matter of fact.

The Aloma/417 one is the closest one to me. Next time I'm over on that side of town, I'll have to stop by and check it out.

That's a huge one and they sell kegs too! Further down the road there is another (much smaller) at Welch and Rock Springs.

It's because it used to be albertson's liquor and publix took it over after they moved in when the former left. That's a huge store---most aren't even remotely that size.

was ok with either decision, it's not like getting alcohol in the State of Florida is difficult

Sure it's a super minor inconvenience, but not really any logical reason to have that law on the books requiring them to be sold separately. What does it accomplish?

As much as I appreciate all that the gov has done for us, I really don't think I need him telling me where I can or cannot buy alcohol.

I have mixed feelings, I have no problems with having it in stores, but it is a real stinker for those who jumped thru the hoops to sell it under todays law
