Florida Governor Race

Next Florida Governor

  • Ron DeSantis

    Votes: 18 40.9%
  • Andrew Gillum

    Votes: 18 40.9%
  • Danny White

    Votes: 8 18.2%

  • Total voters
    44
  • Poll closed .
DeSantis will eek out a win. Republicans are extremely energized after the Kavanaugh debacle and are going to show up much bigger than pollsters expect.

That said he’s not a good candidate. Gillum is a far left Bernie Bro that is under FBI investigation for running a fraud ring in tally. He should be the easiest guy to beat in FL but DeSantis isn’t running s good campaign

my 'hunch' prediction is Gillum wins in a very tight race. He's getting turnout in some very red counties in which you never see. I think Putnam would have won comfortably.

So he’s automatically guilty even though he’s flat out denied it but Trump, Kavanaugh, etc are innocent?

Jesus.

Reading comprehension. Did I say he was guilty? Oh nope- I didn't.

That doesn't matter though. The fact that the FBI has had a team camped out in Gillum's current office for months now should be enough to easily defeat this guy, combined with his embrace of Bernie Bro ideas.

As for the comparison to Kavanaugh- [eyeroll]

by the way if it matters every poll released has had Gillum ahead but idk whether to believe that anymore in the dying landline era. But many of those same polls have Scott barely ahead in the Senate race, figure down ballot will result in a sweep in either direction

Politifact gave Gillum a Pants on Fire rating following the debate. Like the socialist up on Brooklyn, Gillum hilariously tried to state that FL's ultra low unemployment rate is only due to people "working 2-3 jobs at a time". [roll]

What's with socialists not understanding something as basic as how unemployment rates are calculated?

I think DeSantis wins as long as he locks in his Trump supporters. Continuously calling Gillum a socialist is going to excite their base.
I think Gillum had a big boost because voting for a candidate that isnt your typical conservative Democrat in Florida was a shot in the arm.
Having Hillary campaign might keep some of them home.

I think we will have an idea before the 6th depending on EV numbers

Republicans have a turnout lead in most every battle ground State in early voting

well today was only the first day EV in FL, think Georgia & Nevada has been going on for a full week already so those samples are more legit. Although I saw in one Nevada county that had more Registered Rs actually had a Dem lead so far

Just looking back to the Pres election.......the polls don't mean much due to the large number of closet republicans......

the Dynamics in 2016 was very different. Hillary at the top of the ticket and coming off 8 years of a Dem Potus. The low turnout and demo during midterm years usually favor the GOP. We'll see if the Millennial turnout ticks up which was almost non existent during the 2016 race that had 2 unlikable candidates at the Top of both tickets.

The dynamics were different - until the D’s went insane scorched earth to sink Kav and energized every center right person in the country

that was a misplay for sure. We'll see how it effects in Florida which has other issues that other States are not dealing with(Healthcare, Red Tide, Hurricanes, etc).

Don’t care what political party you are. This Governor race is simple. One will try and institute a state income tax, the other will not. I’ve lived in NY, 10% income tax, NC 6% income tax and Georgia 4.5% income tax. With the new federal tax laws, state income tax is now capped as a deductible. It’s not going to be pretty.

The only comfort I can take is that if Gillum actually does win, he will not be able to get an income tax passed in the Florida legislature.

Can’t take it for granted. We need to not let these people anywhere near power. A state income tax will put FL to the back of the economic rankings and will simply send people and businesses to Texas

Gillum thinks the unemployment rate is low because people work two jobs. Socialists don’t understand basics of economics

Can't be too sure that won't happen. If he can't get an income tax done he sure as hell will go after corporations and the end game is the same. There is a reason companies move from high tax states to Florida and Texas.

Ron doesn't look like he wants to be governor. He has zero executive experience and he's not doing a good job at running his campaign. Looks like Gillum will win and I'm glad that it takes a constitutional amendment to get a state income tax. Divided government is not a bad thing.

I know y'all selectively like/dislike polls but almost every poll since mid-October shows Gillum having a larger and larger lead. I think independents will connect with him more over DeSantis.

Like I said, DeSantis is a horrible candidate. He looks lost, timid and appears to have no idea what he's doing.

Gillum will capture enough of the Bernie-bro independent crowd, will get African American voters to the polls and has hopefully generated ENOUGH young voter interest to pull it off.

I did see that voter turnout for young people is still timid at best. I hate my generation sometimes. JUST VOTE!

I have never once voted for a single Democrat, but after reading the blatant lies posted by 85 and the general stupidity of many of the conservatives on here, I will have to vote for at least one this election.

Not sure if serious.
If so, i didn't realize how to the right the water cooler is.
