It is amazing that we live in a society where college scholarships are viewed as THE way out of poverty and a ticket to a better life and yet some people claim that they can't even conceive of a situation where a male might say they were transgender and go compete with the girls. We created women's sports because biologically born males have a distinct physical advantage over females that causes an imbalance in competition. This imbalance doesn't matter for amateur sports and early levels, but when there is cash or scholarships at the end of it, now there is a definite incentive and a significant harm done by the imbalance.

Going gay because of gay marriage is just stupid and probably a strawman because I can't think of another Republican that was actually worried about that. There's no fiscal or future benefit to being gay over being straight. The opposition wasn't what you're claiming above, it was because religious Republicans viewed marriage as a religious institution and therefore thought it should conform to the religious definition.

I don’t think this is a right/left thing. Plenty of Democrats think pestering transgender girl athletes compete in women’s sports is absurd. Tulsi Gabbard, who probably would have been the Democratic presidential nominee if we had open and honest elections, pushed a bill to ban transgender females from women’s sports. It’s just common sense. You have to believe a very particular political ideology in order to ignore the reality of the situation. Sadly, that ideology has a whole lot of influence at the moment.

But Fallon Fox is a good example of where it’s already gone poorly for biological women competing against a trans woman.
