time will tell, It is all on the 3 left of center Republican senators from Maine n Mo.
OF COURSE there are men who have been falsely accused. My point is that there have been many 'upstanding citizens' who - low and behold - were guilty.
That's why this issue needs to be thoroughly vetted, not white-washed away as "smear politics" by the Usual Suspects here.

This allegation is not one that the FBI would investigate unless the President requests an investigation. The foremost legislators in our country should know this, most likely do know this, and are throwing it out because they think we are stupid and can’t see this as the delaying tactic it is to get past the midterms.

Where there? Was it two or four? What day did it happen? What year did it happen? Where did it happen? She can’t answer one of those questions so how do we know there were other people in the room and if there were, who else was in the room. Can’t answer that either.

He’s only too messy because of a Hail Mary accusation intentionally placed at the last minute as a dirty ploy to delay the confirmation until after the midterm elections. You asked why the rush? She had more than 30 years to bring forth the allegation and didn’t. She could’ve brought it forth in 2012 when she started talking about it out of the blue but didn’t. The WaPo and Feinstein sat on it for months and waited until the last minute, after the appointed time for questioning, intentionally to disrupt the schedule. Rather than why the rush, you should be asking why they waited and didn’t bring it forward earlier.
So, really, why didn’t DiFi bring it forward in the hearings? You’d think that would be a smoking gun. You could argue that she was trying to keep Ford anonymous because she wasn’t prepared to come forward, but Ford had already talked to the WaPo, already hired a lawyer, already taken a polygraph, and already scrubbed her social media. No one in history has been more prepared to come forward with an allegation like this.

She also knew that the time for that would’ve been bounded and it wouldn’t have upset the schedule. Instead she held it knowing that a revelation after the hearing would delay the confirmation. This isn’t about whether the allegation is true or not. DiFi doesn’t care. This is solely to delay until the supposed blue wave hits and the Dems take back the Senate. Democrats are yelling for the FBI to investigate "something" despite the fact that this was already turned over to the FBI and they determined there's nothing they can do with it. It's unreal. It's the most blatant attempt to simply stall this out and kill Kavanaugh's character yet the media is of course going along with the party talking line.
So a thorough investigation (which should take a few weeks) would either support or debunk one person's account of what happened.

It's not that difficult to determine who is telling the truth. Ford said that she was assaulted at this party, Kavanaugh says he was even at this party. First let's determine if there was a party.

It's a stated fact that he is the most vetted nominee in at least decades- maybe ever. They have turned over more paperwork on him that the past 5 SC nominees COMBINED. He has been a Circuit Court Judge for 13 years and has written over 300 opinions. If the feckless Democrats can't get an idea of who he is from THAT, then they didn't give a shit to do so in the first place, which most of them didn't.
As for a "few weeks" - guess what? Feinstein had this letter in July. That would have been all of the "few weeks" needed. Instead they played nuclear political football with this and made it smear campaign. So too bad - this charade will not go on for any more weeks.

Law enforcement investigates potential crimes. It’s been 37 years. Any statute of limitations has passed. Given that there’s no chargeable crime, how do you justify an investigation by law enforcement?
As for a couple of weeks, let’s say that there wasn’t a statute of limitations issue. After 37 years, any physical evidence is long gone. If witnesses are even alive, their memories are suspect and subject to have changed due to a number of factors over the decades. Since there was no claim at the time and she’s already admitted to not telling anyone or recording it anywhere, your subject to rely solely on memories. Trying to track down corroboration for contemporaneous things to help find the assault location would take forever.
Think about it, she doesn’t even know the house it was in or the town. So you have to ask her things like does she remember where she ate that morning and walk her through days of that interrogation. Then you compare things she remembers to what was in existence then. Then you track down other friends to triangulate a location. This takes forever and expends resources. And for what, an allegation of a potential attempted rape that was so badly attempted that the girl easily got away from her two male “attackers” without any physical violence.
It makes sense if this is a murder and maybe for an actual rape. But take the names off of the allegation and there’s no way any of you are asking for an investigation into this particular allegation.
Any "investigation" would be limited at this point to asking people who were (allegedly) there for their account, and that's already happened. The people that Ford claims were there have all denied this happening in no uncertain terms. So what else is there?
The standard of proof is different. He's in a job interview for a LIFETIME position, nobody is putting Kavanaugh in jail or firing him from his current job.
They put out statements saying they don't remember, big difference in being interviewed. The FBI investigated the Anita Hill accusations, they should investigate this too.
Why is that? If Democrats REALLY believe these allegations and somehow do sink him, why would they allow him to remain a Circuit Court Judge? These accusations are disqualifying for the SC but not on the Circuit Court?

No. That is literally not what either said. They said that they DO remember things just fine from those days, and that in their clarity, they don't recall ever seeing anything like what was described in this accusation. Neither one said "I doubt this is true but I just don't remember!"
