You’re inventing goalposts that do not exist. This allegation was held purposefully until after the hearing period to be prejudicial. In a fair system, it should be excluded from the Senate’s consideration. The fact that the Senate is taking the step of a hearing at all is to show sensitivity to the potential victim and to deflect the impending war on women campaign from the left. All of the standard of proof stuff for this are irrelevant because the Senate should be examining him on the qualifications they already have.The standard of proof is different. He's in a job interview for a LIFETIME position, nobody is putting Kavanaugh in jail or firing him from his current job.
