You people defending this are pathetic.
WTF are you talking about? That's not what this is about, doofus; it's about freedom of religion. This isn't about serving or not serving gay folks.
The sad thing is, you might be dumb enough to actually believe that.
And you might just be stupid enough to swallow the media fabricated faux outrage that it's all about the gays.

Please, explain exactly what its all about. And if you say something retarded like "freedom of religion" we will all know that means "freedom to be a dick and not serve the gays exactly UNLIKE Christ" and that you are butthole stupid.

Regardless of their dogma, churches and other religious organizations should be forced to offer their products and services to everyone equally.

I'll admit the law isn't perfect, as I do not believe the government should be in the business of telling people what to do, however using "religious freedom" as a catch all is even worse. Especially when people like you can't even follow your own religion, and just make up dogma as you go along in order to carry out your pathetic bigoted beliefs.

Where are all the cake stores refusing business to 2nd, 3rd, 4th marriages? Because unlike homosexual marriage, Jesus actually said something about that being a sin:

9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." -Matthew 19

I wonder if the people hyperventilating over this law realize that the legislature and the Governor are going to insert a clause specifically protecting against gay discrimination to make it crystal clear that's not the intent of the law? If these guys were so intent on letting people hate on gays, as the entire left wing would have you believe, wouldn't they be a lot more reluctant to alter the law this quickly?

Maybe it was a poorly written law but the notion that it was written specifically to target gays is just f*cking ridiculous.

PS- wonder how many people realize that while Steve Jobs was grand standing about not doing business in Indiana, over this, his company currently sells in Uganda, Congo, and Saudi Arabia? Places like Uganda where the law specifically allows for execution of gay people?

Yea, no problem there I guess, as long as I get my iPhone! A poorly written law in Indiana is cause for OUTRAGE!, yet collecting sales in places where homosexuality is a crime punishable by death is cool!

I wonder if that's being flagged as a massive, incredible bit of hypocrisy, or if the liberals in hysterics really are making the point that Indiana, is in fact, worse than Uganda for gay people.

So as long as its done somewhere else, we can't be mad about it being done in the US? It's Tim Cook by the way.

I understand what you are saying and there is some truth to it.

But when you make a blanket statement like "Especially when people like you can't even follow your own religion, and just make up dogma as you go along in order to carry out your pathetic bigoted beliefs." you sound like a moron and it makes you just as bigoted as everyone else. You don't know me well enough to make a statement like that. I do not make up Catholic dogma, it already exists and it's therefore easy to call out "people like me". No human is perfect and a lot of this is do as I say and not do as I do. Part of the problem is there are so many interpretations of the Bible and that makes it very easy for people like you to cry "HYPOCRITE!!" based on the umbrella that all Christian religions are the same although all operate under different dogma. Now, if we could only get Christians to act like Christians.

As for you, it must be nice not to subscribe to any particular dogma, religious or otherwise, because it allows you to never be hypocritical against a a static conviction set, since you can change it to suit your particular desire or need at any given time. It's convenient as hell and awesome, isn't it? Better yet, it allows you to judge and poke at everyone else's hypocrisy without ever having to follow a time-tested constant yourself. It's a lot easier to go with the flow and morph to align with the current, pervasive attitudes and social cause de jour.

First, I just watched the horrible movie on Steve Jobs, so had him on the brain.

Second, if I'm not mistaken, you actually DID just make the inference that the Indiana law is comparable to the standing law in Uganda.

Holy. Shit.

It appears I was correct- the left wants us to believe that Uganda just might be equally as safe for gays as Indiana.

And with that, folks, we've hit a new low in America.

Your posts have really gone downhill, try not to sound so much like a not quite as ancient, but still retarded goodknightfl.

Fab, just because I don't believe in a butthole stupid story fabricated by camel humping desert nomads thousands of years ago, doesn't mean I don't have a set of beliefs. Yet another time you are wrong. I believe in treating everyone equally. Funny how a non religious person can be more moral than a religious person.

So do you attack and belittle everyone you meet equally, or only people with religious views?

Pot, meet kettle.

And I attack and belittle everyone who has stupid beliefs, so mostly the latter but there is plenty to go around, especially given the current republican leadership.

Yea, then you don't treat people equally. You search out people who have views you don't agree with and belittle them. That is, by definition, not treating people equally.

I'm not even offended by you doing so, I'd just like to point out that your assertion that you treat everyone equally is incorrect.

Are you really dumb enough to think there is a politician in this world that would take on the catholic church to make them marry a gay couple in their church?

I disagree, I treat everyone fairly until they do something stupid to give me a reason not to (such a bobknight thinking that discriminating against gays is the exact same thing as discriminating against people who discriminate against gays). Then I make fun of them.

so explain what the law is there for...Haven't you heard, it's all about "religious freedom". Fab still can't provide an example of this that doesn't include not serving gays. But trust him, "religious freedom" shall not be infringed![/QUOTE]

I'm still trying to figure out who the dense one is. The one actively discriminating against religious beliefs or the ones that discriminate because of religious beliefs.

Slippery slope, boys, slippery slope. Government only gets bigger and laws more restricting. It just happens that "gay rights" are the cause de jour...jump on the media bandwagon everyone! It's fun!!

You make "discriminate" sound like a terrible thing. I personally have discriminating tastes in all things. We all discriminate... Discriminate defined - "recognize a distinction; differentiate"

so you are honestly worried about the government coming to the catholic church and saying you must marry a gay couple in your church?

Just a side note:

Jesus would hang out with prostitutes to try to get them to reform their evil ways, it doesn't mean he'd condone their actions by building them a damned whorehouse or sell them condoms for clients.

Not at this particular time, no. Conversely, are you saying that it's forever impossible?

but that is the reason you are defending the law...

the government wont get involved cause then the catholic church can officially back a politician instead of having its clubs promote them...

Lulz! OMg! LOL! Really!?

Of course you believe they did. You're an ignorant doofus.

Hypothetical...

If I'm looking to hire a tile guy to install some tile in my house and someone recommends a great tile installer to me. So this tile installer comes in wearing goat's head pentagram jewelry, so I don't hire him because I don't want him in my house. Does that make me a bigot with the freedom to hire who I want to install my tile or does freedom matter at this point because I made a politically incorrect decision and I'm just a bigot?

Conversely, I'm the Satanist tile guy and I walk into this guy's house and notice Crucifixes hanging on the walls everywhere and it makes me uncomfortable and say I don't want to quote the job because of all the Crucifixes. Does he have the freedom to not quote the job or is should he be required to provide me the quote and honor it?

Wow.

Here's a tip. If you want to discriminate against someone, go ahead. Just don't tell anybody.

You can refuse service, fire someone, etc for whatever reason you want. Just don't say it was because of the gay or their color or creed.

Until a pattern is established, I suppose you'd be okay.
