Lulz! OMg! LOL! Really!?

Of course you believe they did. You're an ignorant doofus.
Yea the governor wouldnt answer a yes/no question on national television on whether or not he legalized discrimination, specifically when considering gays....but he TOTALLY wasnt targeting gays, ya guys.
Yeah! Just like 19 other states and the federal government did before he was even governor. The laws are virtually the same. So I guess that makes the beloved Bill Clinton a gay bashing hater as well as the Supreme Court justices!!!

You'd think it was a simple question.

Where was all the outrage when this was on the floor in Indiana? I guess Indiana has secret legislature meetings and keeps the public in the dark.

Wow. I wasn't too surprised that bob couldn't tell the difference, but this is surprising.
No, I see your point, but that doesn't mean that it isn't discrimination. You are treating a specific group of people differently than you treat other groups of people due to belief or activity they share. That is the absolute definition of discrimination. However, you are lumping your type of discrimination in with the socially accepted discrimination most people have towards pedophiles and rapists.

Is discrimination against a group of people based on "religious beliefs" deplorable? Yes.
Do I think this law was created against a specific group of people? Yes.
Do I believe that all religious people, regardless of participation level, discriminate? Absolutely not. This is where you and I differ.

I dgaf what you believe in as long as is doesn't affect me, my family, or my friends. A belief or disbelief in God or other almighty being does not make you stupid, close-mindedness and inability to accept people for who they are make you stupid. The inability accept difference or opinions dissimilar to your own make you stupid.

Complete intolerance for one group of people before you know them, their background, or their specific beliefs makes you a bigot. You don't have to agree with it, but you have no right to discriminate because of it.

The Indiana law will be swiftly changed to reflect the 19 other states + Federal law that's existed since 1993.

I wonder what liberals will shoot into hysterics over then?

Time to drum up some good ol' victimization, hurry!

so they're going to drop the "regardless of whether the state or any other government entity is a party to the proceeding" clause?

That's where it superseded the other laws on the books and became a license to discriminate under the veil of religious beliefs. Meanwhile, they'll continue to serve divorcees, adulterers,& other groups also specifically outlined in the New Testament.

Yea keep telling yourself that.

The IN law explicitly applies to disputes between private citizens and does not exempt civil rights. Every other state law on the book does neither.

So, yes, they are pretty much all the same law except this one opens up Pandora's Box and lets the far right religious zealots practice their twisted brand of Jesus's preachings.

LMAO!!!!!!!

How long are you going to continue repeating this idiotic, stupid talking point that is totally false?

Here's a link for you to click and gain some actual perspective:

http://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/news/2014/08/04/florida-ranks-no-2-in-tech-job-creation.html

Here's what it says, if you can't read. That TEXAS was #1 during 2014 for Tech Job Creation, while FLORIDA was #2. And it wasn't even close- Texas and Florida were far and away the leaders in bringing tech jobs into their states.

Texas ranks 2nd behind only California in total tech jobs and is quickly catching them.

In fact, of the Top 10 states that gained tech jobs during 2014, 6 of them have Republican governors.

Now, will you listen to any of this, or continue lying to everyone and spreading your delusional talking point?

OH NO?!?!?!?!?!?!?! They going to skip a conference that no one knows about. THE HORRORS!!!!!!!!!!!! That's really going to hurt the GOP.

God damn I'd love for you to speak to me like that to my face.....

The funny thing is, most of the new tech position in Texas are in liberal centers like Austin and Dallas (yes Dallas is becoming more liberal by the minute as conservatives become more crazy). Just because huck-yuck-he-talk-like-me-Ric-Perry is the governor of that state doesn't mean that these companies favor the backwards GOP agenda.

You're part of a dying breed of dumbasses. The party will adjust or it will find itself losing support in the business community in droves.

Don't change for all I care, I would love nothing more than to see the assholes and morons like yourself lose power.

Uh oh. Internet TUFF GUY!!

Meanwhile companies continue to leave California/Union states and head to the South and red states.

Of all the clowns on this board, you are by far the biggest.

I give you evidence that tech jobs are moving in droves to states with a Republican Governor, House, and Senate, and the only reply is "Yea, but they're going to liberal places like Dallas!". And lulz at Dallas being "liberal". Jesus, you're delusional.

Which is it? Are these tech jobs avoiding red states because they hate their laws, or are they moving there but hiding out in "liberal cities", where those same laws would still apply? You can't even keep your own web of bullshit straight anymore.

I honestly can't wait to see what fantastic wad of bullshit you reply with next.

Fact are not your friends.

Yes, a lot of tech companies do avoid red states for the very reasons we're seeing in Indiana. But you've missed my point (or have been in denial about it) from the beginning. Most modern businesses do not favor moving the needle more towards a more conservative agenda. We're seeing proof of this in real-time. There's not much more to say, and some tech job numbers from last year don't invalidate that point.

The fact that Texas and Florida have increased numbers of tech startups and workers is evidence that these companies like the tax incentives. Period. The fact that they're choosing to congregate in more liberal areas (and yes, Dallas is now a liberal city, further proof you haven't pulled your head out of your ass in 10 years) is relevant because it's a reflection of the culture of the people in these businesses. Don't think for one second that southern states would be able to push the conservative agenda further without the same backlash we're seeing in Indiana right now.

There are people in your own party that see this rift, and understand the difference between traditional (pro-business) republicans and the quacky wing that's threatening to change the party. I'm surprised you haven't identified that yet. You're not as smart as I thought you were.

LOL. EE, stop typing, please.

For the record I don't think that people who believe in a god/gods are retarded.

I do know if you take the torah/bible/koran/book of mormon/kama sutra (OK maybe not the kama sutra) 100% literally, you are retarded.

Also if you refuse to serve homosexuals but will serve divorcees, rich people, men without beards or anyone who has eaten shrimp, then you are retarded.

Continue to vote for the quack wing of the GOP. Please do. Please keep trying to push that needle more conservate and see what happens to your state.

I can't imagine what it's like to live in such a backwards world. I'm honestly starting to think more of you guys than just BTK live I'm a trailer.

Welcome to the wingnut fringe of the GOP. I too thought these people didn't exist outside of Alabama trailer parks but there are evidently more than previously thought.

Luckily its a dying breed.

You act like tech is the only industry in the country. It makes up 4-5% of the GDP. A few of the companies in that industry that don't care about stock holders throwing hissy fits barely raises an eyebrow.

Please stop with the name calling though, you're about to make me cry!!!!!!!

EE is the king of not admitting when his argument has been blow to bits by a more intelligent person.

He says "NO TECH JOBS WANT TO MOVE TO RED STATES!"

I prove, with irrefutable facts, that they do.

He then goes on a tirade about how people hate conservatives but can't bypass the tax incentives (gee, a conservative policy).

And lulz at someone who argues a point over and over without a single shred of facts behind him calling everyone else "backwards". Seems to me those "backwards" people are owning your stupid talking points left and right.

Don't cry Bob, I like you (I like 85 too even though he pisses me the fck off and talks to me like shit).

The future of the economy is in tech, and the future of the world is getting off oil. So it's wise to want to be where innovation is taking place.

Why would they drop that clause? RFRA is a shield in legal proceedings where the government or another entity is trying to impose a significant burden upon the exercise of religion without a compelling interest. It isn't a license for people to start discriminating against anyone simply because they can loosely link it to religion. There is also a burden upon someone claiming RFRA relief to prove their religious justification in a court of law. In other words,

Like the Indiana RFRA, and unlike many states, the federal RFRA also applies to individuals, companies, and closely-held corporations. Some states allow it in defense against private entity lawsuits and some don't. The federal courts are split on the federal as to whether it applies to complaints from private entities.

The biggest difference between Indiana and, say, Illinois is that there is no anti-discrimination statute in Indiana specifically targeting LGBT. But even without that, there hasn't been any noise about Indiana businesses actually discriminating against gays. So, other than LGBT being in the headlines right now, why do we think this would change?

85, no tech companies want to be associated with the nutty wing of the GOP that is gaining power in red states. That's been my point from the start, everything I'm saying is looking forward if the GOP doesn't get his house in order.

You've said nothing to invalidate that.

And a red state like Texas is not only luring the most tech jobs in the country, but they also have the most wind power capacity in the country, and currently have more wind power construction ongoing than the rest of the country has installed COMBINED.

But wahh! They're a meanie conservative state so no one wants to move there!

lololololol

Unless you're really telling me that Texas just recently turned red, then this argument sucks too.

It has been the deepest red state for a long time now yet apparently it's deterred no one from moving there.

Just admit your argument is horrible, ok?
