They should be able to expedite this through final trials. It was already approved for treating SARS patients, so it was already approved for the main family of virus (coronavirus).

I see no models that track this as anything but catastrophe 300-400k is a typical projections. We are taking limited steps compared to countries that are devastated. The system will collapse due to the rapid increase we are about to see. There will be nation wide shelter in place ordered and the death toll will skyrocket as we run put of resources.
