OT: Fair question: What’s there to do in Lincoln, Nebraska

Starting this time next year, we can witness 90,000+ fans whining about their 4-8 record and calls for his head. Enjoy.
And frost realizing its not as fun to chase old dreams when you have to fly a few hours each way to recruit and can never see your wife and son. When you have media parked outside of your parents house and your house when the team is under performing. All the fun stuff that Florida has to deal with except much more redneck (which is hard to be compared to gainesville)

He won't have to recruit much. Riley didn't get as many bodies in, but he certainly upgraded some of the talent. He did so by having his assistants recruit. Riley was the closer on campus and in homes at the end of the year. I think it'll be similar with frost. Hire assistants that can recruit.

If you want to lock kids down, you go see them.

I think it's more drink, remember the 60, 70, 80, 90, and first two years in the 00's, then repeat.
Not so much the 60’s and mid to late 70’s or early 90’s. Nebraska’s good years appear to have only been a blip on the radar screen.

During College football's first 50 years Nebraska was 15th in winning percentage. From 1962 - 2001 (a 40 year span) Nebraska had more wins than any program in the country, in fact Penn State was 2nd and they were 44 WINS BEHIND NEBRASKA (let that sink in). That's 90 years of excellent football.

The Big 8 was known as Oklahoma and the “Seven Dwarfs” for decades.

Until Nebraska rose. Then it was OU and NU and the 6 dwarfs. Big 8 is the only conference to finish 1,2 and 3 in the polls and the first conference to have 4 teams finish in the Top 10 though. The more you know.

They were still solid then. Blip on the radar screen? It was the start of 40 consecutive winning seasons.

And then times changed and it all went to hell in a handbasket.
