OK...I'll bow to the wishes of the TRUE UCF fans...after one last post that is.
So, lets see...where were we. Oh yea. After discussing Conference Championships, BCS/Access Bowl wins, fan base/average attendance, Top 10/Top 20 finishes, and comparing consecutive year high win total seasons, UCF has a 4-0-1 lead over Cincinnati.
Local TV Market: UCF #19 and moving up. Cincinnati #36 and moving down. UCF Wins.
State TV Market: UCF in a state with 7,111,010 TV Households. Cincinnati in a state with 4,480,800 TV households. Just for the purposes of a conference network (3rd Tier TV rights only) UCF has a $37.5 Million per year advantage over Cincinnati. For anyone who doesn't believe that, do your own extensive research (like I did) on how conference networks make their money and how much they make per subscriber in an "in market" state. UCF wins by a crushing margin
School Size: Huge student population and on campus stadium is what has enabled UCF to grow from 4th place (behind UF, FSU, and Miami) to first place in it's own market. UCF has about 52,000 undergraduate students. Cincinnati has about 33,000 undergraduate students. That gives UCF the ability to grow it's fanbase approximately 36% faster.
So, UCF is now out to a 7-0-1 lead over Cincinnati.
I will throw the anti-UCF crowd a bone and talk about academics, geography, and a single football season.
University Ranking: US News and Forbes have Cincinnati slightly ahead of UCF, although both are in the same neighborhood. Advantage Cincinnati. UCF is a member of the University Innovation Alliance along with UT and Iowa State, so President Hitt has had an opportunity to discuss non-athletic issues with the Presidents of two B12 schools on a routine basis. He is smart enough and knows how to get things done that you know he finds a way to work in a conversation about athletics now and then.
Geography: Cincinnati is considered the best option to help out WVU geographically.
2015 football season: Horrible for UCF. Mediocre for Cincinnati considering they were picked to win the conference by a lot of people. Advantage Cincinnati.
So even after including Cincinnati's big advantages, it is still a 7-3-1 lead for UCF. End of discussion. The facts speak for themselves.
