Portal Losses

If you have any value your going to test the waters. Its a one year deal now in college. Just the new age of it but every year is going to be a free agency period.

Not a good look for T Will that our best LB transfers out two years in a row. vibes aren’t good w this coaching staff right now

1,086 total yards of offense during its last two games to USF and Tulane....idk if they were checked out but hard to create that positive vibe with those stats. Along with 300 yards in rushing to NAVY

I don’t understand what’s going on right now. Putting aside the recent games…we’re going into the Big 12 next season. Recruits and our current players should be thrilled about this. But instead the locker room feels more broken than when Heupel left.

It can’t be just NIL offers ..it is alarming and our AD Terry needs to wake up if this continues

Regardless, losing one of the team leaders again is a problem. If I am a Linebacker recruit and I see the departures the last few years, I am thinking I should avoid it.

Seems like 2023 will be a repeat of 2022 for defensive depth issues and experience.

Yep, except for the fact that we won’t have weak AAC opponents to help hide those deficiencies

UCF is going to run out of former players to model uniforms in future seasons bc all our best players don’t finish here and transfer out

It will only be a bad look if Auburn doesn't hire him as its defensive coordinator.

Otherwise I would *assume* UCF can 'go to h*ll in a hand basket' for all TWill cares.

I thought JJB was out of eligibility anyways. Either way, again another guy I wasn’t impressed with the play this season either and he underperformed. I don’t blame them if they think they can get paid, the NFL isn’t happening for these guys so I guess get whatever you can get. But what is their value though, I mean who’s paying these guys?

Does Jason Johnson have anymore eligibility left?

T-Will has proven he can’t develop players. I’m sorry but this guy is nothing but a hype machine. NOT 1 player on the defensive side has developed or progressed since here. Pass rush: non existent, LB play: slow and no coverage ability, DB’s and corners: can’t cover, can’t anticipate, don’t attack and can’t tackle. ALL defensive staff needs replaced!!!

JJB Has 1 more year due to COVID extra year policy. I think Jason Johnson has 1-2 more

They have played football their whole lives and know how to tackle guys. This isn’t a coaching issue, it’s a talent issue. It will get better, need more hungry guys like Jason Johnson, that dude is a stud and a tackling machine. The chip on his shoulder is also a difference maker.

I swore he was out of eligibility too, thought he’d be going pro after this year.
Exactly!!! Should have gone pro!! But he didn't bc Gus starts the QB who throws 63% and benches the one who throws 73% when we have 3 NFL receivers!

And let's the QB go play baseball and not practice with WRs all spring.

Sucks that he is leaving, but idk about going pro.

I feel like our receivers are decent, but not great. they struggled to get separation - but I don’t know if that’s scheme, ability, or both.

This is worse than I expected. You’d think we’d keep some of our star players heading into the big 12 next year, with the “lower conference” no longer being a sticking point. There must be some discontent with the coaching staff

The days of seeing players for 3-4 years are over. This is just the norm now. You can have a totally different team year to year. At least will have more money for deals in the future.

This Portal stuff makes signing day feel like an afterthought. As a coach who do you try and close on? Portal guys? High School guys? Getting your own players to stay. Jeez
I don’t consider myself a Traditionalist or ‘old school’ and I’ll admit this is becoming too much. even in the nfl you have rookie contracts
