Remember that time we left Afghanistan

Pierce Morgan is correct about what is going to happen to the women of Afghanistan. That being said, at some point we had to leave. I will beat up Biden over the border which is a disaster of his making, Covid rising with the 15 to 30 k covid positive people we import and send all over the country from the border. The out of control spending, the damage he has done to the oil n gas industry, making us once again dependent on middle eastern oil., but will give him a bit of a pass on this one.

We will be completely and thoroughly embarrassed in Afghanistan. I have to say that I am absolutely shocked, SHOCKED by this.

Trump brought with him a certain level of fear. Amazing in just 8 months everything is a disaster with our moron president. Covid cases are surging, border crisis, Afghanistan failing to a terrorist group as the fool said it wouldn't happen, etc.

Same results under Trump. This is an American failure, Melvin.

They waited exactly until Biden takes over for an immediate sh!tshow. Trump isn't in charge anyway. Biden could of made his own decisions.

Yes, I forgot all this happened the day after Biden took his oath of office. HE COULD OF [sic] stopped all this!!!!

if the Afghan military had this numbers advantage plus U.S training it wasn’t just a strategic blunder , they didn’t have the will to fight for their country

there will be partisan swipes but the truth is all this goes back to Dick Cheney and George W, decisions made back then led to the domino effect to when we finally would leave . Also US Intelligence fails again when their estimates are completely off

20 years worth of blood and treasure all undone in less than a week. The American people should collectively be outraged by the incompetence of our foreign policy experts.

What a colossal waste of money. We could have used that for so many domestic issues. Let it get taken over. The only way that this would work is if we took over the entire country as part of the United States or split it amongst countries.

The Afghan people don’t have the balls to keep their country. Afghanistan is history

Nailed it. The very notion from the get-go that we could ‘democracize’ Afghanistan was naive’ from the start.

Our choices were to continue to stay indefinitely and keep the peace or get out with the full knowledge it wasn’t going to be pretty.

I was in the ‘let’s stay’ camp but the same people who blasted Obama for trying to leave were saying enough is enough when Trump declared it was time to bring our troops home. But now that it’s happening under the Biden Administration, we’re getting the typical partisan ankle-biting.

It’s over. The country will never be Afghanistan again. It’s now a wait and see
approach. See what the Taliban do and how the neighboring countries react.

It’s unbelievable that now we will have a clear terrorist country. It’s basically going to be a less organized, more brutal and less technologically advanced NK. Those poor people.

Sounds like we are going to have a hostage situation by the end of the day. I guess we'll see whether Biden is up for that.

Kind of like it was back in the “9/11” days. We’ve come so far in 20 years, huh?
Those poor people.
Yeah, we “Americanized” a whole bunch of Afghans and are now leaving them to fend for themselves against the Taliban. But the American public can’t have it both ways.

We can feel bad for them, but nothing can be done. There is no reason they couldn’t fight for themselves. Let someone else try

unless some go rogue Taliban leadership know that strategically that would go against their goals . they usually aren’t as reckless as AQ or ISis

“They had all the advantages, they had 20 years of training by our coalition forces, a modern air force, good equipment and weapons,” he said, according to sources on the call. “But you can’t buy will and you can’t purchase leadership. And that’s really what was missing in this situation.”

Waste of time and money.

Ok.., get Americans out safely and then say bye-bye
It doesn't seem that complicated.

1. Get state department officials out

2. Remove or destroy the weapons we have there.

3. Get support staff out

4. A & I leave

Why is that so difficult? If, after all of that the country remains stable, open the embassy back up. Don't just assume it will be fine and risk having to airlift civilians out.

Simple question if he cut his vacation short with his foreign policy in shambles.
He should come back, but he’s probably tired. It took a lot of hard work to fukc things up this much, so he needs a vacation

He’s weak and a puppet president. We already knew this. The worse is yet to come. The world is going to crap all over him. In a country of 328 million and this is what we get out of the last 2 presidents? A bunch of over the hill old geezers?

Get the combat planes, Blackhawks out, etc. if that’s still even possible. The country is done. No embassy. No anything. It’s over

Actually Afghanistan is such a political sideshow it’s a joke. People complaining we need to get the troops out is just political low hanging fruit. We had 2,500 troops in Afghanistan. We haven’t had a combat death in over a year and a half. But I don’t hear anyone calling to remove the 28,500 troops we have stationed in Korea left over from a war that ended in 1953 or the 40,000 troops in Germany left over still after WW II.

The truth is the moment we decided to turn tail and abandon Afghanistan their leaders and soldiers we trained no longer had any faith and basically handed the country back to the Taliban.

I predict this will be just like when we pulled our troops out of Iraq (Biden as VP) and the had to return 3 months later when ISIS overran Iraq.

Apparently what we have learned is that these JV squads are kicking our asses.
