Maximo Alvarez was great. He grew up in Cuba and watched Castro rise to power and now sees much of the same in modern left wing America, and he's 100% right.

Biden's record is pretty consistent. If he wants to make the most impact in 4 years, he'll need Republican help. He has long standing relationships with the major Republican players in the Senate. Making the AOC/Sanders crowd happy after Election Day doesn't help him. He also has an opportunity to create solid majority coalition with disaffected Republicans that have left the Trump party. They need a home because I don't think they can join or will want to come back to the Q-anon, OANN, talk show led GOP. The purge is coming on the right which will embolden the left wing of the Democratic Party. Among this chaos on the right and left, is a perfect space for Biden. He's a shrewd politician and will take advantage of it even if it means alienating the left wing of his party (who he didn't need to win the nomination anyway).

Maximo Alvarez stated his opinion that the leftist/progressive movement, themes, and ideologies were dangerously reminiscent of those that were pushed at the time of the Cuban Revolution. It was powerful and it should have been at least intriguing to you.
Instead, you went straight to "Biden isn't like Castro thus all of it is invalid." He didn't even say that Biden was Castro; he said the Biden just craves power and implied that he would give the marxist revolutionaries power to get it. I'm not sure that he's wrong on that at this point.

You're missing his point again. Cuba was a healthy and thriving country before the revolution. In a lot of ways, they set culture for a portion of the world. Many then thought exactly as you do. He lived through it and is warning all of us. The "it'll never happen to us..." all to quickly becomes "what the hell just happened..."
If you study the history of Cuba that has been scrubbed from the hero-worship of Che that has overtaking academia, the similarities are striking. The thing that is missing here is a compelling focal point, such as Che.

On day 1 of the convention we are told that if Trump loses the Suburbs will cease to exist, that MS13 will be your neighbors, and we will become a Marxist country (among other things).
