Sorry, Crazy, but that's got to be one of the stupidest posts I've ever read here.I can't remember the last time the GOP made this big of a play on getting the black vote. They must see an opening there.

He didn't say the push was going to work, simply that they are making it. Nothing stupid about that post.Sorry, Crazy, but that's got to be one of the stupidest posts I've ever read here.
It's not a play for the black vote. He, Kassic Kim and Herschel aren't changing any votes. This is to solidify the soft Trump supporter that might be a little uncomfortable with his racial tone. Each night of the RNC my Trumper friends post about every black speaker at the RNC. "Wow! Such inspiring words! He/She might be a future president! All Lives Matter!"
I can't remember the last time the GOP made this big of a play on getting the black vote. They must see an opening there.
The GOP is obviously taking a different track with this convention. Normally there will be a couple of token black speakers. A friend of mine thinks its more of a play for suburban white women, I think they are doing this as a direct play for black voters. He didn't say the push was going to work, simply that they are making it. Nothing stupid about that post.
Nah, I think somebody already made the "Uncle Tomas" joke. Although there might be an Uncle Tim joke in here. 🤔Are you about to throw around the Uncle Tom term again?

So what would be the right way to appeal to black voters?Who do you think is going to appeal to black voters? Hershel Walker? Nobody cares about Hershel Walker in 2020, and a lot of younger people probably have no clue who he is. The Kentucky AG? You think African Americans are going to vote Republican because the guy who refuses to prosecute in the Breonna Taylor situation tells them too?
I do think that Tim Scott (2024 VP candidate) and Daniel Cameron (KY Gov) have bright futures, but not on the Trump train. Also, where is the moment of silence to mourn Herman Cain. He was a loyal foot soldier for the party. The GOP is obviously taking a different track with this convention. Normally there will be a couple of token black speakers. Time in the community. I think that's why Tim Scott HAD the best shot before he jumped on the Trump train. So what would be the right way to appeal to black voters?

This ^^^^^^^^^^^THis is for White people who are ok voting Republican, but dont like all the racial stuff that goes along with it.
Yep, its to give them cover when all their friends call trump a racist they can say "Well, Herschel Walker doesnt think so."This ^^^^^^^^^^^
And yet every time they do listen to concerns, the left calls it pandering and subtle racism. 80% of black people dont want to defund the police, the GOP is listening to that and fighting back, but the woke left is saying that they know whats best and it isn't your opinion. How do you reconcile that?By actually listening to their concerns. Just putting up a few black speakers, several of which are Republican politicians, isnt going to get black people to suddenly start voting Republican. THis is for White people who are ok voting Republican, but dont like all the racial stuff that goes along with it.

LOL
80% of black people in America do not want any defunding of police, and yet the white liberal establishment who run major cities are doing it anyways.
Who exactly is not listening to the concerns of black people? Seems to me like the Democrats who have run these cities for decades generally do not give a shit what black people want.
If you had to say one party is more in favor of defunding the police, which one would it be?Biden/Harris arent for defunding the police either, that is how I reconcile that.
If you had to say one party is more in favor of defunding the police, which one would it be?
Um, inner cities are burning. You think that isnt the most important issue for people that live there? It doesnt matter. defunding the police is not going to happen on any sort of significant scale, so this is a grasping for straws issue. Which side do you think is better on healthcare? Min Wage? Judicial reform? etc etc etc. Defunding the police isnt nearly as significant an issue as you are making it out to be.
Good grief, that's like saying if one party is more in favor of Qanon, which one would it be?If you had to say one party is more in favor of defunding the police, which one would it be?
Ok but which side is better on the caravans from Mexico and pedophile pizza shops? It doesnt matter. defunding the police is not going to happen on any sort of significant scale, so this is a grasping for straws issue. I think its going to be one of the biggest issues on election day. Regardless, the whole point is that the republican party is doing more to directly address the concerns of black people than they have in a long time. Jon Ponder is a pretty good example of that. Sure, its politics but it is conveying a message.A handful of inner cities are burning. I live in an inner city, and it certainly isnt burning. But again, if this is the issue you think it is, then I am assuming that election day will reflect that, and Republicans will win a significant portion of African American voters.

I think there will be, yeah. The situation that we are in is probably creating a lot more single issue voters, and with the black community I could see this being that issue. The GOP is doing a pretty good job of framing it that way and Biden isn't a good backstop against it.Well, the good news, is that we will actually see how this plays out in about 2 months. My prediction? African American's vote for Democrat at basically the same rate they have in recent elections. Are you predicting Republicans get a significant uptick in African American votes?
Who are these Republicans that "don't like all the racial stuff that goes along with it" and what exactly is the racial stuff?
Or are you just calling everything Republicans do that involves any person of color racist and then projecting that on some strawman Republican? I ask this because none of the people that I know that vote Republican are racist and none of them think that the party is racist or are concerned about it. But they are all tired of being unfairly painted as racist constantly by people on the left that say they want an honest conversation but really just want to impose their opinions and not have any honest or uncomfortable discussion and so end all of that by just calling the Republicans racist.

I could see 25% on the far end. More likely it will be in the upper teens. So what your is prediction? DOes Trump get 25% of the African American vote? 35%? 40%? What is the prediction? This is something we will actually have an answer to pretty soon, so might as well lay out your predictions.
Let's make it even easier on you guys: Does Trump get more or less of the national Black vote than he did in 2016?So what your is prediction? More. Definitely more. I dont see a compelling reason that black people would go the other direction.Let's make it even easier on you guys: Does Trump get more or less of the national Black vote than he did in 2016?

Maybe. Hasn't been my experience with the suburban women I know but maybe. I do know a few of them that decry the kneeling and actually listen to the entire speech rather than cherry-picked phrases in the media. But I'm open that there may be more than a few that feel the way you describe.Suburban women.
The Trump racist re-tweets, telling congresswoman that were born in America to go back to where they came from, calling NFL players who kneel "sons of bitches". That kind of stuff.
It's easy to forget about that stuff.
I know that there has been a lot of crying wolf from the left about racism coming from anyone that's not left and especially the administration. You kind of get tired of listening to it after you've been falsely accused of it so many times. And it started with the President when the left decided to cherry-pick his comments about MS-13 and go all faux outrage.Seriously? Unless you have been living under a rock you know that the Trump/Republican party hasnt exactly been the most racially sensitive group.
Also the Muslim ban, shithole countries, the way he treated the Puerto Ricans, The way he treated the Khan family, "very fine people on both sides", Mexican comments. If it were one thing, he would get a pass, but it's a consistent thing with him.I know that there has been a lot of crying wolf from the left about racism coming from anyone that's not left and especially the administration. Of course it is. You're to be applauded for even attempting to provide examples of Trump's racism. If it were one thing, he would get a pass, but it's a consistent thing with him.
The ban on travel from countries that had no ability to uniquely identify people that was misrepresented as a muslim ban was exactly what I'm talking about. It wasn't racist when President Obama's admin created the list and identified them as being so woefully deficient in infrastructure that they represented a very real risk. It only became racist when Trump attempted to mitigate the risk. Also the Muslim ban, shithole countries, the way he treated the Puerto Ricans, The way he treated the Khan family, "very fine people on both sides", Mexican comments.
