Russian invasion into Ukraine is imminent

build a wall to keep them out as well. Kind of like in Washington. Or better yet, since they will be undocumented, just put them on planes and busses and ship them all over the country.
Off topic but if Mexico wanted to creat an insurgency here in the US, they already have everything in place that they would ever need. Not that it would ever happen but I don’t think that our country would survive it if they were to go after it.

Russia asking Belarus for help is a sign this isn’t going as planned

but the scary part is they are being more and more wreckless with no regard for civilian casualties

Fully expected this to happen, as a result of invasion. Unfortunately now is the wrong time, obviously.

Yep. And this might be the point where the EEU breaks apart as a result too.

That happened in the Georgian War as well ... especially as the days dragged on. There are Russian nationals in Ukraine that feel much like the South Ossetians did during the Georgian War. Luckily that ended inside a week.

This is going to last far more than a week! Russian logistics, even with the EEU member states (like Belarus) assisting, is going to force Putin to the negotiation table.

And right now ... I think Ukraine not joining the EU and NATO is off-the-table. They are going to bark about not doing so as doing nothing for their sovereignty.

And as has been discussed prior, no nation will ever willingly give up nuclear weapons ever again, at least not ones with fiesty neighbors next door.

I'm curious, KNIGHTTIME, how are those ETFs with Russian exposure doing now?

10 bagger. Got in at $1.25 today with realization could be 0 or 10. But I view 0 as unlikely. . I figure a 93% haircut on a state run fund that is flush with oil and gas money isn't going to go belly up any time soon.

Delisting of pink sheet stocks isn't likely, although anything is possible. Getting dividend in May though isn't so clear yet, since it's an ADR whose shares technically are in NY.

Contrary to popular belief. The Russians view the Ukrainian's as same people. They don't want to kill bunch of people. Just no nato, no nukes, no nazi's. It's not a very big ask.

Ukrainians also know our lawyers and politicians were paid to serve Russian interests prior to 2014 -- especially during the first years of the Obama administration, but it was both parties.

The EU had to tell us to knock-it-off once the Russians started shooting.

Most Americans are ignorant of all this or, worse yet, blame Trump. Trump was the last person involved. He just made the mistake of hiring political lawyers who were involved for other, career politicians.

Although the one that was a registered agent of Turkey was laughable.
He just failed to disclose it, which is a common oversight on paperwork.
Once they asked, he immediately admitted it, and said it was such.

Especially since Hillary's Podesta was once a registered agent of Russia!

Lukeoil still buying up properties while our exploration is nil due to green fantasies. So much for sanctions.

I didn't say to buy Russian etfs. I said I would invest in the russian etf vs ruble but that is like asking if you want to amputate an arm or leg. Way too many unknowns and it would be a complete gamble that the war ends soon.

It's one of those risk vs. reward plays. 0 or a 10 bagger. Not much middle ground. I think most of them are being suspended from trading today, and it does indeed look like dividends are suspended too. It's not clear if they will be escrowed or not.

Like I said all along, I do not believe Russia wants a protracted war. It's likely going to come down to Zalensky either accepting no nato, no nukes, no nazis , or him being exiled to US. How long that takes is anyone's guess.

And just as I type this. Lukoil is almost down to single digits and still trading on pink sheets. WOW! I can't resist some of that before they pull the plug. Doing due diligence last two days, and they have 20 years of reserves. NOBODY has that, and oil is going to $200 due to failed green initiatives

Just be advised about any propaganda out there around SWIFT being a hinderance to settle energy contracts. It's a joke. Lukoil has gas stations in the USA for crying out loud. This isn't going away in the middle of an energy crisis

I wouldn't count on any dividend for a while, and a 50/50 chance of being wiped out to 0, but the upside to peace is an immediate 5 bagger

BTW, it's a coordinated attack on Russian stocks by the US Government. Hence, they can push it around as much as they want short term. I'm hoping they push Lukoil down to a double bottom today and scoop up more.

This is a great opportunity for retail investors to stick it to the man when those guys start unwinding their shorts and are done puking.

I understand everything now.

Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So basically, that’s wrong

So ... if it's not, should we invade Canada and Mexico to balance out our NAFTA disagreements like the Russians are invading the Ukraine to balance out their EEU?

NATO should invade Belarus, threaten Russia not to get involved... Shoe on the other foot.

#Leverage
That's not quite tit-for-tat.

Belarus is part of the EEU, and has defense agreements (alliance) with Russia, while the Ukraine is part of neither the EEU or EU (or EU+NATO for that matter). So Russia would have to invade an EU state, let alone NATO member, to be equivalent.

So we're not going to take it only works if it fits a narrative even if it makes no scientific sense.
Yeah, it's SO UNFAIR that a Twisted Sister song has been authorized by the songwriter to use as a rallying cry for Ukrainian rebels fighting for their country -- but NOT for mask protesters!!!!

What what a CRUEL, SENSELESS world we live in!!!

"Scenes from Borodyanka, near Kyiv, are apocalyptic"

You look at scenes like that and wonder, How does killing Ukrainians and destroying their cities help ANYONE, especially the Russians themselves?

Seems like only yesterday I was told here what a great leader Putin is and how it's time for the US to turn the page on our 'Cold War' past with the Ruskies.
