UCF football wishes it could have a LB as good as Kiko. Boys think that a retread octogenarian like Ted Roof is going to do anything for the LB room.

Ted Roof has been fired from every place that he has worked but keeps getting hired because he’s an old white guy. Old head doesn’t even bother to get a haircut when he knows he’s going to be introduced by UCF to the press for the first time.

Showed up for the press conference wearing a hat, sunglasses and looking like a total slob. That guy is going to do the least and watch the direct deposits hit his bank account…no hunger, no desire, not even trying to fake it.

Yeah…LBs are can’t wait to go to UCF to get “coached” by Ted Roof…said NOBODY.

Awww...look at the lonely little Hurricane fan, begging and pleading for the attention and respect he is so desperate to find.

Best WR room in the ACC and college ready WR Chance Robinson just got on campus.

Martinez, Fletcher, Allen, Lofton, Johnson and ELITE RB Jordan Lyle just arrived as well. We move!

Yea...the U moves!
Until it is time to start actually playing football. Then they tank! 🤣
Fans like you literally don’t know anything…lifelong G5 fans who are clueless. None of you in this site really know college football. None of you. Not Brandon, nor anyone else.

G5 fans. Zero of you have an idea as to what a national championship roster needs to look like. Flexing on an army of DBs when your trenches are trash.

Yeah…your DL is also trash, mostly due to having two DL coaches who can’t coach their way out of a wet paper bag.

If ANY of you hate had any clue about college football you would be calling for both Kenny to be FIRED. They have no business coaching P4 football…neither one of them.

You people would be calling out old head Malzone for hiring a CB coach that has NEVER coached CBs at any level.

You would be calling out Malzone for hiring a WR coach that has ZERO experience coaching WRs and never played the position.

You would be calling out Malzone for hiring a sock puppet OC with zero OC or play calling experience.

You would be calling out old head Malzone for sacrificing a young, well regarded coach (Ernie Simms) just so he could move Addison Williams (who has ZERO business to be a DC) back to safeties coach (done to save face).

If you think the issues with the LBs or with the defense last year were attributed to Simms…then you are a real life clown. It’s the fault of Malzone for NOT having any viable LBs and of a CLULESS DC.

Again…NONE of you know anything. ZERO of you, including ALL of the people covering UCF football (they are afraid to lose the little access they have) balls to ask tough questions or to call out Gus Malzone on anything.

Respond to the post and don’t attack the poster. It must suck to have reality crush your lies and delusions.

Ernie Simms was used as a scape goat. It derailed his career and was not fair to him or his family.

Simms was put in a position to fail. Look at the guys he had to play and at the guy in charge of the defense/calling defensive plays. Pathetic.

Noice how the clown completely avoids the subject he is responding to...in this case the abysmal FAILURE of Miami to accomplish anything on the field in over TWO DECADES. 🤣🤣🤣

What a hypocrite! Telling other people to do what you won't do yourself. 🙄
You launch a barrage of personal attacks without any football content.

The title of this thread is: The CURRENT State of Florida Programs.

My posts are relevant and on topic…yours are not.

I am not those people.

"An army of DBs" is exactly what is needed to compete in the PAC-12. All this nonsense about 'stopping the run' during spring was some of the most ignorant crap I have heard in some time.

As I stated in another thread 8 or 9 of the 12 opponents on the 2024 schedule prefer to attack defenses by throwing the football. Only three 2024 opponents (West Virginia, 3rd; Cincinnati, 5th; and Utah, 33rd) finished in the Top 50 for rushing offense (Utah lost its starting RB to Arkansas). UCF faces only one 1,000-yard returning rusher from 2024: the kid from Arizona.
Yeah…your DL is also trash, mostly due to having two DL coaches who can’t coach their way out of a wet paper bag.
UCF has an SEC-caliber interior defensive line. The unit will be ranked among the top four in the Big 12 in preseason publications, but it is clearly the top unit compared against any opponent on the 2024 schedule--and probably the best unit in the entire conference. Kenny Martin is a rock star defensive line coach in the making. UCF will not struggle to retain his services in 2025. Somebody will buy him.

You are correct on Kenny Ingram. Gus should have replaced him with a better recruiter and X's and O's coach. Ingram is not a P4-caliber defensive ends/bucks coach. Under Gus, UCF has a history of not pressuring the quarterback. Ingram is a big reason why. However, Ingram does fit the climate and culture of the program that Gus is establishing/rebuilding in Orlando. Ingram's loyalty to Gus is unparalleled and is reciprocated. That is why Ingram remains on staff.

You people would be calling out old head Malzone for hiring a CB coach that has NEVER coached CBs at any level.
Hiring Trovon Reed was an incredible move by Gus that no one seen coming. Gus was going to promote Reed to cornerbacks coach at Auburn, but the opportunity never presented itself. Reed is a tireless recruiter with connections in prospect hotbeds across the Southeast. This was a brilliant hire by Gus. He got Reed for pennies on the dollar.

You would be calling out Malzone for hiring a WR coach that has ZERO experience coaching WRs and never played the position.
Gus dropped the ball when he hired Grant Heard. It was one of the most questionable and short-sighted decisions that Gus has made since he has been at UCF. Heard was overpaid. The obvious hire was former Florida standout Ike Hillard, who was unemployed at the time after having been fired by Auburn following the removal of Bryan Harsin. Ike Hillard is now the wide receivers coach for the Atlanta Falcons. Heard, meanwhile, is coaching at Eastern Michigan. Gus listened to Hugh Freeze and UCF got burned.
You would be calling out Malzone for hiring a sock puppet OC with zero OC or play calling experience.
Gus Malzahn is the OC, has always been the OC, and took the UCF job only because it was the best gig that would promise him total control of the offense. Hinshaw assuming QBs Coach is a great move for UCF. Hiring Tim Harris Jr. as a wide receivers coach will have an incredible impact on the UCF running game because the wide receivers will actually stalk block.
You would be calling out old head Malzone for sacrificing a young, well regarded coach (Ernie Simms) just so he could move Addison Williams (who has ZERO business to be a DC) back to safeties coach (done to save face).
Addison Williams is an ELITE recruiter.

E-L-I-T-E

Gus kept an obviously overwhelmed and underperforming coordinator because his value as a recruiter was irreplaceable.

Per your terms, "an army of DBs" isn't marching onto the UCF campus for no reason. The Mid'KnightsMen want to play for Addison.
If you think the issues with the LBs or with the defense last year were attributed to Simms…then you are a real life clown. It’s the fault of Malzone for NOT having any viable LBs and of a CLULESS DC.
Ernie Sims was unemployed when he took the job at UCF.
Again…NONE of you know anything. ZERO of you, including ALL of the people covering UCF football (they are afraid to lose the little access they have) balls to ask tough questions or to call out Gus Malzone on anything.
I have thought about volunteering to write for one of these sites, but I live 6 to 7 hours away from UCF's campus and flights to and from games would require multiple flight transfers.
Ernie Simms was used as a scape goat. It derailed his career and was not fair to him or his family.

Simms was put in a position to fail. Look at the guys he had to play and at the guy in charge of the defense/calling defensive plays. Pathetic.
Scape goat? You must be kidding. Sims was the last addition to the 2023 UCF coaching staff and the lowest paid assistant coach on staff. Not much was expected of him and he delivered "not much."

As the linebackers coach, he assumed Travis Williams' role as run game coordinator, and UCF finished 122 out 130 in run defense. He now is an "analyst" at the school where he played. He is terrible. Nobody wanted him.

Good riddance.

Now about you getting laid...

The people RESPONSIBLE for UCF’s defensive failures are still on the staff: Gus Malzone, Addison Williams, Kenny Martin and Kenny Ingram.

The UCF trenches (OL and DL) are heading downward. OL is already rock bottom and all of you will quickly find out.

Hand The Rapper and Gus Malzone have managed to only sign seven high school OL in three full classes. Those boys expected to be filling OL needs as needed from the portal and they failed to project BOTH the supply and demand for good portal OL.

Nothing they can do at this point since Hand and Malzone have failed to developed any of the high school OL they have signed.

Gus said we had a middle of the SEC type defensive line last year. A “middle of the SEC talented defensive line” is very impressive. That means there were some very talented Dlinemen on the team. Yet…..We were manhandled on the line of scrimmage last year.

That tells me it’s not a lack of talent problem, but a lack of coaching and scheme problem. Other than Brash and Cesar everyone returns. With the additions from the transfer portal at DL and LB, I think we’re actually deeper than last year. The question is….can they be coached and schemed up?

I think Gus was talking about the starters Lee Hunter and Ricky Barber/John Walker. UCF faded late in a lot of games, couldn't hold a lead due to depth (as you said). Derrick Leblanc (ineligible) and Andrew Rumph (redshirt) will be huge adds to the interior DL.

The defensive end position is probably the biggest question mark, given the losses of two starters.

Ted Roof taking over as linebackers coach is a monumental upgrade over Ernie Sims, who struggled to get a job as an analyst. Only three 2024 opponents finished in the Top 50 for rushing offense.

I think the biggest hindrance to UCF being successful on defense in 2024 is can the front four effect the quarterback without being extra defenders. Given the emphasis on exotic blitzes throughout the spring, the answer is no.

John Walker played poorly and it’s not his fault. As a true freshman, he was not strong enough to hold.

Bain, on the hand, is elite from day 1.

Former UCF cornerback Devante Brown is slated to start at safety for Free Shoes U, per Kelvin Hunt of ChopChat.

Safety Starters: Shyheim Brown, Devonte Brown

Top Backups: Ashlynd Barker, Conrad Hussey, KJ Kirkland

Shyheim Brown returns as a starter from last season, but FSU has to feel the void left by Akeem Dent. They tried to fast-track Conrad Hussey as a freshman last season with mixed results, but he gained valuable experience. It's one reason they brought in veteran Devonte Brown, who was solid at UCF before going to Miami where the coaching causes players to regress.

ELITE OL, ELITE TE room, ELITE WR room, ELITE QB and a two headed dragon at RB.

ELITE 8.2 wins! LOL

Cracking Up Lol GIF

Could Miami win all of its 2024 games?

The answer is only 1.1% according to ESPN. Considering Miami is drawing a relatively easy 2024 schedule, that is a low percentage.

More like 0%!

How can you win all of your 2024 games when you can't even win your season-opener?

Do UCF.

Look at this guy...

Miami has gone UNDER their opening win total set by sportsbooks the last 6 YEARS!

SIX in a row!

Cane simps still buy the hype every year and lose their shirts. 🤣🤣🤣
Man, it is the most wonderful time of the football season for a Canes fan. Christmas in June and July for the 20-year+ reigning National Talking Champs! Bozo is in the zone, preparing for his annual Independence Day spam/troll session.

Same stuff every year. Year after year the on field results suck
Yeah…says you. Zero of you UCF fans know what a championship roster looks like or how it ‘s built. *Hint: it’s not by getting a dozen *3 DB recruits and transfers.

Oh…my bad, forgot about Ted Roof…that old retread is going to save UCF.

Apparently Miami doesn’t either since y’all have been in the ACC. How in the hell do y’all not have one ACC title?!? That’s beyond embarrassing especially with the level of recruiting Miami does. Enjoy your offseason awards again.

Boys parroting nonsense when their 2 DL coaches managed to sign ONE 3* high school DL in the 2024 class. LOL.
