The Trump Coup Attempt

Lol, no seriously. You should listen to it, at least the first 20 minutes. Its almost painful to listen to him.
Have listened to the sections that were played on tonight's nightly news. Yes, it was painful to listen to, no matter what your politics.

Don't listen to the clips, they make it sound like he's demanding something. It really doesn't do it justice. This is a guy that is looking for someone to bail him out and it's really, really pathetic. The numbers he puts out may be correct but its such a voice of ignorance and desperation.

Raffensberger almost sounds like the Admiral that had to respond to Hank Johnsons concern about Guam "tipping over and capsizing" if we have too many soldiers on one side of the island. He was being diplomatic but you can tell he wanted to tell Trump to shut the fvck up.

He should be impeached again. It might seem pointless with only 17 days left, but this should not be tolerated, because who knows, maybe the next time a president tries this shit he is working with a SOS who goes along with it if it, if it doesnt appear there is any punishment.

Yeah, what a super dooper threat. No president is ever going to be removed via impeachment so its not a real thing.

Doesnt have to be removed. They are literally trying to steal an election right under our noses, this shouldnt be tolerated by either party. I also dont think Hawley, Cruz, or the others should remain as Senators if they cant provided evidence of fraud, which they cant, and they are only trying to undermine Democracy for future presidential purposes. None of this should be acceptable to anyone who wants the US to remain a functioning Democracy/Republic.

Whats the point of impeachment if there is no consequence to it?

Also, Cruz isn't even claiming there was fraud, he's asking for something that we should all find to be reasonable. Hawley is a different story.

Right, he is trying not to certify the election because of "rumors" of fraud, which might actually be even worse. And what is it we should all find reasonable? Do tell.

The point of impeachment is to hold our presidents accountable for their corruption, and to be transparent with the AMerican people about that corruption. If nothing happens then explain to me why the next losing candidate wont try the same thing? I think it is more than obvious that Cruz and Hawley arent above trying to steal an election, and both are going to be candidates in 2024 most likely.

How many people believe that there was enough voter fraud to flip the election? Would you say its more or less than the number of people that believed Trump was colluding with Russia on January 3, 2016?

Huh? A lot of people probably think there was enough fraud, because their leaders are telling them that, despite no evidence, and because of internet conspiracies.

This has nothing to do with Russia. This isnt a tit for tat situation. The FBI was investigating the Russian situation, and had enough to at least warrant the investigation. I mean, Trump just pardoned several people involved with that investigation.

SMH. WTF is this, high school? Let's investigate the moon landing while we're at it.

Or hell, lets have a federal investigation to see if Ted Cruz is the zodiac killer, lots of people on the internet say it, and apparently that is the standard for having to take it seriously.

If 70 million people believe that there was voter fraud, it doesn't seem like something that should just be dismissed with a "nope, didn't happen". Its probably wise to go to petty extensive lengths to make sure those people stop believing it. Cruz really isn't asking for much to that end. 10 days for an independent investigative team to make sure. We aren't talking about a 3 year long multi million dollar deal that finds all kinds of ancillary crimes in the process. Just a simple and straightforward investigation that in the end doesn't affect anything other than grant assurance to tens of millions of people.

The only reason they believe it is because Trump is telling them to believe it. This is nothing but circular logic. Tell people something happened with no evidence, people then believe it happened with no evidence, so now we have to take it seriously, even though there is no evidence. ANd also, you are acting as if it hasnt been looked into. If there was anything to this you know Trump's people would have presented by now. Basically, you want our government to operate based off conspiracy theories.

Cruz is literally trying to not have the election certified based on conspiracy theories, so yes, he is most certainly asking for a lot, and he doesnt need to remain as a Senator.

ANd honest question, where does it end? Do we have to investigate every internet conspiracy theory now? Or just the ones that would help Trump destroy our Democracy?

Chip Roy, a Repulican Congressman from Texas, is saying that the congressman and senators elected from these states this year, should also not be seated (attempting to point out how ridiculous this all is) ANd he has a point, if we think there was fraud in these states, then why are we allowing the Reps and Senators to be seated? Obviously the answer, is because many are Republicans, but if we are seriously pretending there was fraud, then no one from the states in question should be declared winners.

To me, its unnecessary. That doesn't mean that some value can't come from it to some people, and possibly a very large number of people. I guess it comes down to a cost/benefit analysis in my mind. Of course you're always going to have people that believe it no matter what (just like there are still people that believe a pee tape exists), but the more people you can convince that nothing really was awry in the election the better. Is 10 days and maybe a couple of million bucks that big of a cost here, considering the alternative?

There is value in telling Trump he lost and to get over it. There is no value in extending this charade. But also, this has nothing to do with you are talking about. This is Hawley and Cruz playing to the Trump crowd for their future presidential runs, that is all this is about.

If 70 million people believe that there was voter fraud
Since the election, Trump’s support has seriously dropped.

There are 70 million-plus Conservative believers in this country and they hold an important place in our Political discourse. But with the exception of the batshit crazies who are as bonkers as Trump is, most folks in this country are responsible enough to realize how dangerous and subversive this nonsense has become.

Enough is enough.

I'm not so sure about that. Trump and everything about him is pervasive in culture at this point, and culture leads politics. His followers are no more likely of letting this go than his detractors at this point. Its drama and drama sells, so every time something bad happens in the next year or 2, the media and people (no offense) like you will bring him into the equation, which will provoke the other side and keep the whole thing going. I'd love for him to just disappear from peoples minds but it isnt going to happen, so may as well get out in front of it and do anything possible to get rid of the stolen election nonsense.

Sounds like a description of 2016 and Collusion.
