The worst story you will ever read

You mean the kid who was pointing an exact replica of a Glock 19 at people in public, who also removed the orange barrel indicator used to designate that’s its airsoft, in order to scare people and make them think its a real firearm?

Is that the same person you’re referencing?
Yep, that's the 12 year old boy we're talking about. 👍

Do you know how many kids play with toys guns? Have you ever played with a toy gun before? Just stop.
How many times have you stood on a city street pointing a toy gun that looked exactly like the real things in a threatening manner at strangers passing by? I’m guessing never. You push lies on people as if they’re truths and gaslight to protect your false narratives. You stop and I’ll stop calling it out.

Did it all the time as kids. Guns looked realer then too.

He was also 12yo
Do a quick search for 12 year old charged with murder and you’ll find a number of incidents this year where 12-year-old children have shot people that are not their family members this year alone. Every year gang members as young as 10 shoot and kill people. Your post is extremely ignorant.

“Demographic studies of gangs cited by Howell show that the typical age range for a gang is 12–24 with the average age of gang members 17–18 years old.” https://nonprofitrisk.org/resources/articles/perspectives-on-gangs-and-gang-violence/

I find it very hard to believe that you stood alone on a street threatening random strangers with what looked a firearm regularly. With no one else around and no parents in sight.

Looks like a dangerous gang member.

Usually it was a few kids chasing each other with toy guns. No parents around.

Right Wing Gun Fetishists: We don't need to stinking universal gun registrations!
Right Wing Gun Fetishists: We don't need no restrictions on AR-15s or silencers or anything like that!
Right Wing Gun Fetishists: We should be able to carry concealed weapons!!! Screw it, if it makes policing more dangerous, it's my constitutional right!!!
Right Wing Gun Fetishists: We need 'Stand your Ground' laws!!!! If I feel threatened, it's my right to use my concealed weapon!
Right Wing Gun Fetishists: It's my God-given right to defend my home and family by whipping out my gun* *as long as I'm a white man.

So what's their thoughts about a kid with a toy gun?

That 12 year old boy got what was coming to him!!! He was waving a toy gun around in public for crying out loud -- and - get this - he was BLACK!!!

So you honestly can’t see the difference between a few kids chasing each other around playing and a kid menacing passers by to the point where they feel the need to call the police?

I’m sure most dangerous gang members have pictures where they look like angels from some time in their life or others. It’s a tragedy that he never got the home training to know not to do that and wasn’t supervised on that day when he decided to play grown-up games with adults and the police. Why haven’t we heard one single voice in the national discussion ask where his parents were and why they allowed him to play fake gangster all by himself on a city street?

Not a city street, it was a park. Nobody was around, Tamir was playing by himself. The person who called the police said that it probably was a fake gun. 2 police officers rode up on him and neither thought twice about capping a kid. Keep twisting yourselves trying to defend this.

The only one twisting is you. The video shows him menacing people. The video shows him reaching for the (they thought at the time) weapon when the police arrive. The fact is that dispatch did not relay the caller’s guess that it was a toy weapon. The fact is that no one thought to ask where this kid’s parents where or assign any responsibility to them for the tragedy. People like you just used it as a weapon to demonize police in an ongoing effort to attack the institutions of this country.

Kind of like dispatch not telling the officer checking out the home where the woman got gunned down inside her own home playing video games with her nephew that a neighbor didn't think it was much but thought he should call it in because he'd seen her front door open. Just a few minor details that got mixed up. But we're just talking about black lives here, right?*

The fact is that no one thought to ask where this kid’s parents where or assign any responsibility to them for the tragedy.
LMAO -- Yeah, it's the PARENTS" fault those trigger-happy cops shot a 12 year old in a playground who was playing with a toy gun.

But, again, he was BLACK so you can't be too careful, right guys? [eyeroll]

A 5 year old was executed likely because of this hateful rhetoric that the lefties spew out on a daily basis. Heaven forbid they actually try to help race relations.
This idiocy is so crazy -- and predictable -- you just have to laugh.

First, one of the Usual Right-wingers here starts a race-baiting thread provided by the Right-wing political blog, The Blaze. Second, after the posters make a few comments on how horrendous the story is, the OP opines in post #5 that the story sure reinforces the message of white supremacists. Huh?!?!? Say WHAT?!?!?!

Then after folks call out the OP for his obvious gas-lighting on race, his right-wing buddies jump in and play the aggrieved, "Why, oh Why, is the left's response ALWAYS about race??!?!" and go on to say the crude racism and 'hateful rhetoric' is really all about the left. (I guess we're supposed to ignore who the hell started this discussion in the first place and why the hell they did it.)

If you want to call me a racist because it makes you feel better, thats fine. It really doesn't affect me. Your history of taking things out of context or selectively editing posts has made your opinion a joke.

So I took your comment about the White supremacists’ message vs BLM’s from page 1 of this thread out-of-context?

I’ve never thought of you as a racist. If I did, I wouldn’t consider you a friend, which I do despite all your Neanderthal opinions. ;)

From my perspective, you’re just the devious sort of Conservative who enjoys trolling progressive people on political boards. This one kinda crossed the line though when you stuck in post #5 after getting the required shock and disgusted reaction to the OP story.

’nuff said.

Maybe read my post again and rescind your claims that I'm a racist instead of saying that I'm just trolling. I said pretty clearly that this is bad because its the kind of thing that white supremacists will use and there are people that will listen to that message, and we are already seeing it.

Its whatever. You can continue the crap you're doing and call everybody a racist if it makes you feel better. Thats exactly the kind of thing that does create racists.

BTW, if you don't think I'm a racist and consider me a friend why are you always claiming that I'm a racist on a public forum? That's pretty messed up.

As I said earlier, you enjoy being provocative.

But even in a cesspool like the WC, words have meaning and we have to be prepared to take ownership of what we say here. Gaslighting like you've done here on race (and many others this year on Covid-19) can have real consequences.

This isn't a game.

You think I'm being provocative? I'll take that. I want to provoke people to consider the repercussions of what is happening and how that could be something we don't want to see. As I said in that super racist post about how stories like this can be used to increase tensions and that it leads to people considering a very dangerous point of view because they want to return to normalcy, we need to be aware of how things can get out of control.

You should watch JoJoRabbit if you want to understand what I'm saying.

In regards to the bolded part, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK I WAS SAYING? The response you quoted of the racist dude is exactly the response right wing media is looking for when it posts stories about evil black men. You recognize this yourself but refuse to see that it is intentional? Why do you not see that the goal of right wing and left wing political sites is to curate news stories in a way that shifts your opinions on a topic. You realize this right?

Except left wing sites are trying to shift ypur belief system towards a world where people dont lack health care and right wing media is pushing people toward racism to maintain power.

@Crazyhole Do you believe that Trump and or others on the right intentionally engage in any sort of coded language or "dog-whistling" with the intent of stirring up negative sentiment towards minorities? If so, what is the end goal and how do you see it playing out?

You can answer the same for what you think the left does also. I'm just curious if you think it even exists.

To me this is very complex. Does Trump use coded language? No I don't think so. I think some of his sycophants, and to a greater extent his enemies probably try to read into his language things that they want to hear. IMO, trump stopped developing emotionally in his early teens and has an inferiority complex which means he has to self-aggrandize for validation. To him its not about pointing out the faults in others as much as its about pointing out his own personal superiority. Its not a deal where he thinks "we are better" because he doesnt view himself as part of a group. I wouldn't call him a narcissist because its obvious that he is very insecure but he is all about himself.

As far as the rest of "the right" goes, I see some subtle tactics from outlets like Brietbart but the people looking for "dog whistles" already have overt voices like Richard Spencer and milo yianopolis. That being said, I'm really questioning what exactly foxnews is doing. The on-air guys like Carlson and Hannity are just typical conservative talking heads but their online content is giving me pause ever since the George Floyd deal.

Part 2: the end goal isn't really an end goal, its an ongoing goal of getting the most clicks and viewers. Media outlets on both sides would LOVE to have more social unrest, riots, race wars because people would be glued to their reporting. They all want "white people to start fighting back" because it's a headline that writes itself. They want Christians to fight back against the bans on gatherings because its a story that gets both sides riled up. The end goal is ratings, not changing anything.

I think that's pretty damn spot on. I know you said you don't think he uses coded language but there are those out there who believe he does and think what he's doing is masterful. To the extent that it might possibly be coded, do you think the language he uses is his own? If not directly from him do you think those around him are taking advantage of language to stir shit up intentionally? Not saying it IS happening here but I know there are people that science the shit out of this stuff when it comes to word choice and its impact on people.

There are a million tweets/statements to pick from but I thought this was recently was particularly interesting... mostly b/c of the imagery it brings up.. at least for me.

But what about the political power brokers on the left and right? Are they in cahoots together? Do they both want an end to this experiment?

They aren't conservative. If Hannity and Carlson came out for universal health care, higher taxes, gun confiscation and abortion tomorrow, these guys would all fall in line

Plug and play the latest right wing troll that you are listening to.

What I said is 100% true- liberals obsess over and pay attention to FNC people WAY more than the majority of right leaning people. Cable news in any form is never playing in my house.

What little time I have to digest anything in a day is usually spent listening to a JRE podcast, whatever is on SiriusXM POTUS, or either a Shapiro/Matt Walsh snippet. Mind you that JRE and POTUS routinely have liberals and center left people on to give their views, so ironically I bet that I'm digesting more counter-opinion stuff in a day than you or any other leftie here is.

We know you guys love your echo chambers.
