Why have a virus team on the National Security Council if it's not something we need to defend against?

Maybe if we had an administration who took this shit more seriously, we wouldn't have over 12,600 deaths vs 7,700 death in every war since Vietnam combined.

The president should absolutely protect from foreign attack, invasion, etc.

And he failed miserably. Despite having the luxury of having the virus hit here AFTER China, AFTER South Korea, and AFTER Europe, we've acted surprised it's hit us every step of the way.

We are beyond that so it's now his role to provide support.

So, in short Trump made no effort to replenish the stockpile and congressional budget restraints played a part in it it not being replenished under Obama.

There were many stories of college kids returning from study abroad programs in Italy (of all place) and other virus-infected countries without getting checked at the airports.
