This is the Right's Worst Nightmare

Curious if the partisan folks still think that the China travel ban was a mistake? That was the theme of the msm liberal talking points a while back. Once it was proved correct... pivot. Once the game changer drug was proved correct...pivot. When Trump promised the armed forces hospital in a week and he was correct...pivot.

The mistake is that it should have been an international ban. By the time Trump imposed the China ban, the virus had spread to Europe--but somehow travel to and from Europe was still okay???!?! WTF???!?

Given the current state of the country, it's literally mind blowing that you actually want to APPLAUD the China ban when it's crystal clear by this point that it didn't stop the virus from coming into the country.

Trump banned travel from Europe a lot faster than any other country. You have mental issues

First you lose your argument about the China travel ban, now you’re being an asshole and move the goalpost to this. You’re pathetically predictable

Lol... should have known a partisan take was coming. Your beloved party members didn't want to stop any international travel at that time. Trump stopped the hot spot before most agreed but always and but, but, but....he could of done more when nobody wanted to do anything. Partisan pivot was clearly coming.

Trump bans travel to Europe practically BEFORE ANY EUROPEAN country bans travel. Or was he first? [roll]

I love all the Usual Suspects patting Trump on the back for his travel bans.

We had residents allowed to return to the US from places like Italy without being tested for crying out loud, but that's beside the point because Trump's decisive action really saved the day, right guys?*

The Shookster’s deranged world of 20/20 hindsight. First the China ban argument is lost. Then the European ban. Now the testing. What’s the next goalpost argument?

He is quickly turning on MSNBC for his next talking point. My favorite was the anger about being hopeful of the drug, when it turns out accurate. That is real TDS to be angry over the drug working.

That’s because the left would like Americans to die before praising Trump. What started out as a criticized argument is becoming more true daily

Hate is stronger than anything else

It's truly bizarre. They see the death count as validation for their hatred of trump so the higher the number, the happier they are.

It’s true. They are evil people
What would you expect from a group of people who actively support eugenics because they want the black community exterminated? Death tolls are cool as long as it's a means to get to their utopian end.

G'damn these bastards and their fake death counts!

Just the latest example of the vile Democrat Hoax that's being foisted upon an unsuspecting American public!*

I hope they're fake. You hope they're real.
Returning to the original post of this thread, this response from Crazy symbolizes just how low the Republican Party's talking points have devolved to.

Republicans have seen almost all of their party's bedrock beliefs crumble away with from the pounding of this pandemic. Vilifying "the other party" and "the other party's guy" and in our case, other posters, are the only bullets they've got left in their guns to fire.

Sheesh, let's just go back to your OP and dissect it:

  • They laugh at all those "gloom and doom" scientists who tell us we need to be prepared for their 'crazy sci-fi' scenarios, whether it's about viruses, our nuclear waste dumps, or climate change -- until one bites us in the butt.
Literally nobody has laughed about it, you dreamed it up.
  • They delight in talking about rugged individualism and "not needing no stinkin' Government" -- until we're all depending on our Government.
You are projecting your own personal thoughts here and suggesting that conservatives are now clamoring for more government when time and time again on this site you're getting push-back from your calls for more government control.
  • They laugh at the Defense Production Act because the private sector has proven they'll step up and volunteer without it -- until our need for masks and ventilators rises to crisis-levels and Trump gets so pissed off with the lack of production and actually enacts it with General Motors.
Again, more projection. The only one that has been railing non-stop for the DPA is you, then when confronted with the fact that Trump invoked it 7 days before you brought it up, it became a non-topic
  • They tout their "pro-life" credentials -- until it comes to kick-starting our economy while our nation's virus infection rate is still increasing.
This one is truly bizarre. You advocate for federal funding of killing babies, but are mad that people with pre-existing life-threatening illnesses arent being kept from dying? That right there is a weird disconnect.
  • They sneer at anything that smacks of socialism--until everybody needs help and all of us working together becomes the rule of the day.
I say this will all due respect, but that is the dumbest point I've ever heard you make. You're original point was clearly to try to make right-leaning individuals into hypocrites but you've also attacked me for remaining consistent in questioning the government's fiscal response.

Soooooo...Why did the Trump Administration say 'thanks but no thanks'
to the Obama Administration's attempt at a transition of virus security information and why did our National Security Team's virus leadership get canned???

Weird way of showing the Republican Administration took it seriously, don't ya think?

No, conservatives are not clamoring for more government at a time when it's crystal clear that we need serious coordination between the Federal, State, and Local branches of government.

As a result, we're getting this hash mash of crap with nobody really in charge or presenting a master plan to get through this mess.

Bullshit. The DPA still hasn't been fully invoked except for a select handful of cases. This should have been invoked early on and used to fill in the critical gaps we're experiencing in a wide-range of health needs, including simple masks and gloves.

A woman's right to choose an abortion in the first 20 weeks is not "killing babies" and you know it. Yet the Republican Lt. Governor of Texas, Glenn Beck, and other Right-Wing wackos who wear their "Pro-life" badge are saying that old folks need to "be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice" in order to save our country's economy. Seriously WTF???

One of the many reasons why the Trump Administration has had such a half-assed, mixed-message response to this crisis is because Trump doesn't want to be seen as a hypocrite by playing the Big Brother 'socialism' card: You know, things like REALLY using the Defense Production Act, working with the governors to present a unified, national response to the corona virus, and being more concerned with saving lives than with the Dow Jones Average.

You are literally the only person that I have ever heard invoke the abortion argument when it comes to this situation, which is a perfect demonstration of how politically motivated your comments are (aka: tds). Please provide citation for anybody on the right bringing this topic into the fray prior to your OP

YES, because GWB DID ring the warning bells on this threat. Way to go, George!!! It explains why the Obama Administration followed up on it.

And Trump reacted by...trashing it all. The Trump philosophy from Day 1 has been to try and undo everything Obama did.

How did Obama follow up? What specifically did he set up in government affairs or funding that can be used as evidence that he prepared us for this more so than what we have?

Do a little READING and find out for yourself. It's out there on the internet if you actually cared. But you and I both know this is just an exercise you're engaged in to excuse Trump because "nobody could have ever imagined this happening!" By the way, that's bullshit.

If you do some research, you'll discover that there was a big meeting a week before Trump took office to discuss the distinct possibility that some strain of influenza could pose a serious threat to this country. The briefing was intended to emphasize to staff in the new administration that there was a very real possibility that a pandemic could sweep the country sometime in the first few months of Trump's tenure or within the next few years.

Long story short, the Trump Administration officials who attended this briefing either: 1) didn't give a shit about anything that anyone in the Obama administration had to say; or 2) left the Administration long before this pandemic hit. And we're all supposed to believe that the firing of the entire pandemic team that Obama had put together as part of the National Security Council was 'no big deal.' Just a simple reorg, right?*

So as a result, when a pandemic did surface, the Trump Administration was caught flat-footed and basically had to re-invent the wheel. So much for George Bush's warning.

Lol at "a big meeting". For over 25 years the CDC has been doing this and they send out warnings to every hospital that this is the year that we will have a massive flu epidemic so they need to be prepared. Major hospitals got to the point where their response was "no shit, sherlock. Its gonna happen eventually". At what point should hospitals start ignoring the warnings because they've heard the same thing for years?

As an American, I'm embarrassed and appalled by the complete lack of leadership we've seen from our POTUS during this pandemic. We should expect our leaders to rise to the occasion and step up during times of crisis, not pass-the-buck like a little weasel.

Reporters asked about the lack of critical medical supplies to fight this crisis back in March. Trump's response? Ooooooh, it has always been the Governors' responsibility, not his. He's just there to 'help out.'

Yesterday, a Fox News reporter asked about the lack of tests and testing that continues to exist. After his usual whining about what a "nasty question" the reporter asked him, he said it wasn't his fault, it was (surprise, surprise) the Governors' responsibility. WTF???!?

But remember, his administration is doing an 'amazing job!', just ask him.

Translation:

"I am a democrat with TDS. Trump did something and I disagree with it as I always do. I completely lack the ability to be objective because trump is a republican."

Yawn. TDS mental issues. He’s leading this country mightily every day. You’re just too caught up on “non-presidential” talk because you’re an old school snob. Not a working class American. I bet John McCain is your hero

If Trump didn’t block China travel months ago, you would be pushing up daisies. He’s an American hero and you owe him your life. So ungrateful

He literally wants permanent martial law. Obviously this whole federalism experiment has failed because. 000003% of people died from a virus that didn't exist a year ago. Total failure. We need a dictator, but he has to be a good dictator, not like all of the other ones.

Florida has 20 million people and about 250 have died.

When pressed, the President hides behind our nation's Governors and says they're the ones at fault for not having adequately prepared for a nationwide pandemic. And this is your response?

Last I checked, our Founding Fathers decided the Articles of Confederation weren't the way to run a country.
Ugh. Are you actually referencing a flawed agreement from 240 years ago to galvanize your position?

The federal government has never been in charge of monitoring, accumulating, and distributing medical equipment. Each state, city, and private hospital take on that task because the lowest level of government is most capable of meeting the needs of the people.

I could have sworn that the Federal Government was responsible for our nation's defense. But I guess your "Each state for themselves" position might explain why Trump fired our National Security Council's pandemic team.

You're going to the nth degree about national defense. The president should absolutely protect from foreign attack, invasion, etc. We are beyond that so it's now his role to provide support.

Tell me just one time that Cuomo said that HE WASN’T PREPARED. Nobody wants to admit that they weren’t prepared, but Cuomo was the LEAST PREPARED. Who the heck was prepared for this? South Korea MAYBE
