I am feeling very confident on my predictions here. It looks like UCF is going 1-4 with its transfers targets with the one win being Xavier Williams…Gus will beat Kent State for his services.
The truth is UCF could go fail to take a single transfer in the Spring window and be just fine. In Year 3, Gus has built UCF into a sustainable program "as is" in the Big 12. (By sustainable, I mean UCF is capable of winning a FLOOR of seven games next season-- even with a rash of injuries to key starters at multiple positions.) Any body Gus adds to roster at this point is an added bonus.
Meanwhile, at the under south florida university, positions are open across the board, and Christobowl-less is dependent on sellouts, turncoats, mercenaries, and scrubs from other programs to compete with the ACC "mids."
So yeah, I am cool with Gus signing Shemar Kirk (who played at a DIII non-scholarship JUCO located 2,100 miles from Kirk's native city of Knoxville), Trequon Fegans (CB Alabama), Eddie Kelly (DE USF), Daveren Rayner (LB Northern Illinois), Xavier Williams (QB Charlotte), and Kamari Stephens (DT FAMU) as long as they are willing to sit behind established starters and wait their turn and/or spot play as Gus sees fit.

UCF finished the year 1-3. Malhazan managed zero NFL draft picks and there’s nobody on the UCF roster that projects as a 3rd round pick or above. But UCF doesn’t need additions…lol.

Had an OV to UCF only to hard pass. Fegans also had an OV and you called him “future UCF DB”…comical. UCF is not even a finalist for him.

UCF can opt out of taking a quarterback, and it won't make any difference--short experiencing injuries at quarterback. Outside of Spencer Sanders and Haynes King last fall, no available DEVELOPED quarterbacks have fit Gus's system. I love Casey Thompson, but he doesn't fit, either. Square peg, round hole.

No transfer, including Decorian Patterson and Rian Davis, that UCF is pursuing in this Spring transfer portal is going to start against Kent State or Boise State. (They might start by Game 3).
UCF does not have any starting positions up for grabs. The starters are entrenched. UCF is ONLY after depth. The Knights are chasing rotational players.
That is not the case with a lot of these other programs, including USC, which lost to Tulane despite the Trojans having a Heisman-trophy winning quarterback.

Gus simultaneously wants to replace AAC first team linebacker and Super Senior Jason Johnson and fellow Super Senior linebacker Wesley Yates III.

UCF returned two of its top three field and boundary corners. (Y'all bought the other one.) Corey Thornton and Brandon Adams are going to open the season as starters. I think eventually Decorian Patterson will take over at No. 1 corner. Tre'Quon Fegans would not have been a starter in 2023.
UCF's nickel will probably sign with the u after embarrassing UCF with his love affair antics. He ain't no snitch though. UCF has two four stars playing nichol in 2023.
The safeties will be Jirah Wilson, Jarvis Ware, DeJordan Mask, and Quadric Bullard. While safety is probably the weakest position and the most in need of "star" power, these guys are capable and serviceable.

Malzahn issued all 85 scholarships BEFORE Spring Practice. The guys who left post-spring either refused to accept a position change or couldn't make the three deep.

Ab work not withstanding, this is a good move. We needed to add some college experience in our QB room and now we have a QB2 and QB3 who have seen the field and have potential. Let's see if Hinshaw can coach 'em up. And with a HS QB coming in and another committed for next year we're building back some depth. Bottom line, if JRP improves, we'll be fine at QB. If he doesn't, we'll need to give someone else a chance and there will be a couple of guys competing for that chance.Welcome to the Future of UCF football...

Stephens will be a great add. He can rush the passer from the interior defensive line position or kick out and play defensive end. He has a lot of versatility.
