Transfer Portal is now open

Most impactful entrance of the Spring portal.

Hopefully, more will follow.

I LOVE this guy. I hope Auburn lands him.

We don't want Casey Thompson, I'd rather go after TJ Finley or Jalen Milroe.

Casey Thompson will go only to a place where he is guaranteed a starting spot. Although he is awful, Milroe fits Gus's offense and would be a good emergency quarterback.

Finley is a statue. He wouldn't consider UCF and Gus definitely wouldn't consider him. I am hopeful a better option than Milroe hits the portal between now and Sunday.

We need more than an emergency QB....I bet a 3rd QB ends up at least the backup at some point this season. I would be more than OK with an experienced Finley because of that......but we couldn't land him anyway.

If I may inquire, whom are you thinking of? 🤔

Wouldn't it be smarter to just suggest guys ACTUALLY IN the portal? Did you happen to attend the miami school for kids that don't read too good?
I think he's speculating. Malachi would get quality playing time at UCF this upcoming season and likely starter the following year.

He will probably redshirt at Arkansas this year. Then who knows?

He is a perfect fit for our team. Great arm, great legs, great guy and not a 5-star phenom.

With Hornsby leaving, don't see why MS would.
New coordinator, who didn't recruit him at Arkansas. Doesn't fit the new scheme under Dan Enos. Fourth team on the depth chart.

Every player is not in the portal until they are.

Your inability to read the college football room at times is really strange.

No doubt on his projected ability.....most likely we could not get him anyway even if in the portal. If we get a guy at all, watch it be a low wattage player we are disappointed in.

Not my first choice, but I would "settle" for this kid and not be disappointed. Under the radar FCS transfer portal quarterback who has two years of eligibility remaining and fits Gus's system. Not a starter, but could get UCF through rough patches.

A season removed from being an All-American and receiving Big South Offensive Player of the Year, Xavier Shepherd leaves Kennesaw State with 2,471 passing yards, 22 passing TDs, 1,456 rushing yards, and 34 rushing TDs in his last two campaigns. He did struggle in 2022, throwing the same amount of scores and interceptions (7), but at this point, gotta take what you can get.

Welp. That kid certainly wouldn't be my first choice. He hasn't played enough football to make an educated decision about him. He started only one season of varsity football--and that came during COVID. He did play in a good football region (for that one season at Colquitt County), but the level of competition he faced is highly questionable due to the pandemic. In short, the teams they played sucked! Valdosta, for example, forfeited.

At Ola High School, he had only 6 competitions on 12 attempts for 64 yards and one touchdown total while serving as a backup during his sophomore and junior seasons to the FORMER Berry College tight end: https://berryvikings.com/sports/football/roster/hunter-kautz/6227

Williams obviously didn't participate in an 7-on-7s at Auburn, so Gus didn't evaluate him personally.

I cannot speak for UCF, but...

In 30 years of following Auburn football, Auburn has offered only one quarterback (Jason Standridge) with fewer career passing yards than Williams.

(The Auburn guy ended up playing pro baseball in Japan. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Standridge).

In summation, I would classify this offer as "not good."

#BringBackGatewood.

EDIT: Apparently Kautz gave up football to be a professional fisherman.

Zero viable QBs want to play for Gus Malhazan. Dude has destroyed many a career. Dudes prosper when they get away from him: Bo Nix, Malik Willis. CC: SharkBoy19
TVD just shook down your boosters for more cash right after Mario horrendously cratered his draft stock 🤣🤣🤣
