why can’t Gus recruit QBs as well as he recruits everything else ? the missing piece to getting this Program back on New Year’s Day and the 12 team Playoff
He has a very bad rep with not been able to develop QBs. It goes to his time at Auburn. His time at UCF has made it worst: DG leaving, the mismanagement of Keene and now Castellanos bolting .

I would say most of those on here are more concerned about wins and trophies as oppose to who is playing, and consider this a team sport.

There was a plenty of reasons one could say Gabriel was a "Me" guy, it was just funny that you used passing the ball deep which is his strength, what the previous staff recruited him for, and also what WRs want to see and has lead to WRs getting drafted.
I used passing the ball deep for Gabriel (his strength and seemingly one of the reasons he left) b/c it was said JRP was a me guy for running the ball (his strength).

(A) Evaluating and recruiting quarterbacks is the hardest thing to do in college football. Four of the previous five and five of the last 10 Heisman trophy winning quarterbacks have been transfers. uat just produced the reigning Heisman winner and doesn't even have a capable replacement on its roster. If quarterback recruiting was easy, the 'greatest recruiter of all time' would not have had Blake Barnett follow Cooper Bateman follow Jake Coker follow Blake Sims from 2014-17.

(B) Auburn and UCF are not traditional blue blood programs that are capable of attracting ELITE talent on their own.

And (C) Gus is trying to run a gimmick offense that requires a gimmick tiggerman.

Given A and B, C becomes exceedingly different.

On a positive note, I think Gus hit a grand slam with his evaluation of Malachi Singleton. It will be difficult--but not impossible--to pry him away from Arkansas now that Kendall Briles has moved on to TCU. Singleton doesn't fit Dan Enos's system and wasn't recruited by Enos. Arkansas has replaced 10 of its 12 coaches since Sam Pittman's initial staff. Arkansas could implode.

There is a chance Singleton could return.

First, Henderson ain't going to Miami. That's for sure. Big bro CJ wouldn't allow it.

Second, I do not even know if UCF is interested in Xavier.

Third, how was second shift at the yeast plant? I notice when you get off work at 10 pm, you head straight to McDonald's parking lot to post using the free wi-fi.
Take the bet or shut up.

Same thing could be said about GOL, even when he had Taaffe as OC and Bortles was the 3rd pick in the first round. That’s where a coach should understand this and spend money to hire an OC and/or QB coach that can do that.

Take the bet you resident Malhazan shill. Led the team in receptions and third in yards 6”4 and very fast.

If you want to beat your chest about getting a visit from a guy whose claim to fame is having 3 touchdown receptions (more than half of his 35 game career totals) in a scrimmage, then be my guest.

"While Henderson brought experience and affirmation of progression entering his fourth season to the lineup, his career at UF underwhelmed relative to the expectations he garnered as a high four-star prospect out of high school."

"In UF's second scrimmage this spring, Henderson caught three TD passes. But Henderson didn't carry over that momentum into the Orange and Blue game last week. He had a pair of drops and finished with just three catches in eight targets for 38 yards, with minus-two yards after the catch.

"Speed was supposed to be his calling card, yet it never felt like he was getting behind opposing secondaries with regularity."

You do know that these people have been reading your comments and your self contradictions every other post? Meanwhile a desperate Gus Malhazan just took a commitment from a dude that was at Georgia four years…not even a back up to back ups. In four years 10 solo tackles (and 6 assists) = 16 in four years. No tackles for loss, no interceptions and zero sack. Good ole Gus Malhazan. Lol…you struggling bro? https://georgiadogs.com/sports/football/roster/rian-davis/6410

This is precisely what I said...
Not that there is a need to add an outside receiver, but another player to watch is Florida's leading returner at wide receiver Xzavier Henderson, who jumped in the portal today. Henderson, also of Christopher Columbus HS, is especially attractive because he returned kickoffs and punts for the last two years. As you know, UCF already has two former gator receivers in the two deep and snagged Florida's starting tight end last year. Definitely something to track.
I said only that he was a "player to watch" and his recruitment was "something to track." I like that he can return kicks. He sucks at being a receiver.

Does he think he hasn't recruited well? He seems all in on Plumlee, and probably one of the few coaches that would allow Plumlee to play two sports and be QB.

Malzahn has had opportunities to try to bring in other QBs, but that doesn't seem to be a concern for him.

A "desperate" Sam Pittman took a chance on uat reserve linebacker Drew Sanders. How did that work out?

Some days ago you were blaming T-Will for all the LB failures at UCF and at Auburn. But now you credit Malhazan for this one guy. What a shill.

AL1 you have until the end of the day to accept the bet or announce to everyone here that you are a Malhazan SHILL.

Um no thanks!

No programs are lining up to poach any TWill recruits at linebacker.

To demonstrate just how terrible TWill-recruited linebackers are, four high school signees, including three four stars, were to enter their junior or senior years at Auburn this year, and Hugh Freeze has used the portal to replace d*mn near every one of them.

LINEBACKER

MIKE LINEBACKER

1. Austin Keys, Jr. (Ole Piss transfer)

2. Robert Woodyard, RFr. (Uat decommit/non-TWill recruit)

3. Powell Gordon, RFr. (Auburn HS/non-TWill recruit)

WILL LINEBACKER

1. Cam Riley, Jr. -OR- (TWill signee)

1. Wesley Steiner, Sr. (TWill signee)

3. Eugene Asante, Jr. (North Carolina transfer) -OR-

3. DeMario Tolan, So. (LSWho transfer)

Departures:

Kameron Brown, SR/GT (TWill signee) -- committed to UT-Chattanooga.

Desmond Tisdol, RS Jr. (TWill signee)

As a general rule, TWill linebacker recruits suck.
Here he is blaming T-Will.

Here he is blaming T-Will.

I will try to simplify this for you. There is a starting LB position up for grabs at UCF. Two guys are leading candidates.

(Rian Davis) A reserve linebacker off the two-time reigning FBS national championship team vs. (Walter Yates III) a D-II MEAC linebacker who did not play football in 2020 and played only three games in 2021 before being lost for the season.

Even you can see that one is not like the other.

This is NOT like celebrating getting a visit from an underachieving local product (Xavier Henderson--Florida) who will potentially be competing for a starting spot against another underachieving local product (Frank Ladson Jr.--Clemson)

Spanning three years at Florida...Caught 73 career passes for 835 yards with five touchdowns with 14 starts in 30 games...

Spent first three seasons of career at Clemson…Caught 31 career passes for 428 yards with six touchdowns over 30 games (eight starts) with Tigers from 2019-2021…

What are you talking about? Rion was a back up and even started 2 games last year, on a back to back CFI winning team that probably had one of the most dominating defenses in the last couple decades, definitely the best in the current offensive era of the last decade.

Oh and how awesome of Miami getting a visit from UF’s 6th best receiver on back to back 6-7 teams. I guess 6-7 is better than 5-7.

16 total tackles in four years.

Do you understand how absolutely stacked UGAs LBs room and entire defense for that matter has been? They had 5 LBs drafted in the first 3 rounds the last two drafts and recruiting has them stacked not missing a beat. A back up and 2 game starter on that squad who stuck around, he’s not a bum and could easily be the beat LB on UCF or Miami.

But yeah, go ahead a get all excited about a visit by UF’s 6th best WR on a back to back 6-7 team.

LOL. So you know Hendo was a starter last year at UF and led the team in receptions and was third in yards? He’s 6’3” and very fast. The record of the team in irrelevant in this.

“He would start at Miami”. Says U C to the F. LOL. Miami was not interested and never even contacted. 15 TD tackles in four years. Cool.

Hendo?

Isn't there an unwritten rule somewhere that states an offensive player must account for more than 5 touchdowns before they earn a nickname?

(If not, there should be.)

Miami poached Cohen from Alabama. The number 1 IOL in the portal. Dude was a two year starter at Alabama 24 games and only gave up 1.5 sacks. 2nd team All SEC in 2022. Saban was pissed.

15 total tackles over 4 years…3.75/12 games = .333 tackles a game. Welp.

Biggest portal addition I saw today was Alton McCaskill from Houston, the stud battering ram who put up 1,100 yards and 18 TDs in ‘21 as a true freshman only to miss all of last year due to injury.

Doesn’t affect us, but UH fans must be gutted.

Lmao. He’s terrible and has been FSU’s worst defender.
UCF doesn't need a starter. It needs only a rotational linebacker who is capable of spot playing maybe a series or two to give the regular starter a breather.

Somebody sorry like Francisco Mauigoa or Wesley Bissainthe would do.

Oh wait ..
