Where all my dumb rednecks, racist goons, and frat boys at?

So what's the purpose of having an AG?
Sec 35 of the Judiciary Act of 1789:
"And there shall also be appointed a meet person learned in the law to act as attoney-general for the United States, who shall be sworn or affirmed to a faithful execution of his office; whose duty it shall be to prosecute and conduct all suits in the Supreme Court in which the United States shall be concerned, and to give his advice and opinion upon questions of law when required by the President of the United States, or when requested by the heads of any of the departments, touching any matters that may concern their departments, and shall receive such compensation for his services as shall by law be provided."
Enforcement comes from the AG overseeing the roles of the District Attorneys, which have the following charge:
"And there shall be appointed in each district a meet person learned in the law to act as attorney for the United States in such district, who shall be sworn or affirmed to the faithful execution of his office, whose duty it shall be to prosecute in such district all delinquents for crimes and offences, cognizable under the authority of the United States, and all civil actions in which the United States shall be concerned, except before the Supreme court in the district in which that court shall be holden."

There are no less than 5 separate "Russia investigations", including at the CIA, ongoing but Comey was only fired because he was on the verge of exposing Trump.

LOL

Ok then!

Don't oversimplify it. You know there are varying degrees of what's legal. The AG works with the legal counsel to make those judgements. In the end, yes, it is her job to follow the instructions of the President. That doesn't mean she can't push back if she feels what she is asked to do would violate the law.
She can push back all she wants. You would expect that. She issued an ultimatum to her boss for a political reason (as was the judge's ruling which has been destroyed by legal analysts on both sides of the aisle). She should not be surprised that she got fired.

I oversimplified it to point out the logical conclusion and the flaw with allowing that power to reside in the AG office.

Of course she has the ability to push back as does anyone in any job. You might get fired for it if it falls outside your responsibilities though.

If the judge's ruling was so awful, why has it not also been overturned? Instead, the EO was withdrawn, rewritten, challenged in court again, and stayed again.

Yeah, include the Senate's own investigation. It's laughable that Russia is the excuse. As I said before, I agree with Trump on this firing. Comey hasn't been the best and has been questionable on multiple occasions.

Oh c'mon. It's because it's the 9th District. W, Obama did the same thing and no one cared.

So it was dated May 9. Comey was fired May 9. What am I missing? Is Kristol saying Rothstein dropped the letter in snail mail so there is no way Trump received it the same day? I'm sure there is some type of magic service in the government that allows letters to be sent between parties almost instantaneously.

I'm loving the fact that so many D's who espoused their hatred for Comey are now faking outrage since Trump canned him.

Rosenstein's letter (not email), Sessions' letter (not email), and Trump's letter all dated the same day. It's certainly possible, but one would think that such a big decision as firing the Director of the FBI would take *some* introspection. Having all three dated the same day smacks of either ex-post facto justification, or a rush to judgement.

You do realize these people see each other and/or at least talk everyday, right? There is no way this was discussed between them before yesterday, is there? Lol. The letters are for public record and HR crap more than anything else. Trump didn't just get a couple letters and make his decision on that, they've been discussing this since Rosenstein was confirmed and starting looking into Comey.

I love the fact that our Republican president just fired another person investigating him.

I love the fact that Democrats continue to push the idea that he collided with Russia when no facts proving this have emerged in the ONE YEAR this has been investigated.

There's only 5 other investigations all looking at the same thing but no- No Comey means we can't possibly know the truth!!!

At what point will ANYONE present evidence that Trump had anything to do with Russia?

Will Democrats keep pushing this forever even without any evidence? I'm guess yes.

Normally, I'd believe that, but keep in mind that Comey wasn't notified of the firing formally, he had to find out from the news. The press release went out before he was told. That just speaks to how much of a rash decision it was.

When has this administration done anything according the norms? They fly by the seat of their pants. They're not a manicured PC compliant group by any means and never will be.

If only they were calculated like our last President, whispering promises to Russian Presidents when he thought the mic was off, guaranteeing to return favors to Russia once he wins election and could not give a shit what people thought.

I'm not sure leading the greatest country on earth is the kind of responsibility that should be handled by the seat of their pants

Oh spare us. You left wing apologists always assure us that America is a shithole. Every country's is better than us!

You mean the incident where 3 Americans died due to criminal negligence of our government while operating in an unstable war zone that they destabilized?

Sure. Just like that.
Actually it was 4 Americans, I know you don't care about facts though. Regardless, I was speaking about the numerous investigations which found nothing, that wasn't already known. Which one could compare to the investigation into Trump and his Russia connections which you say is a waste of time. For some reason, everyone around him is lying about "nothing" and he's firing those investigating him.
