Crisis after crisis after crisis the man cannot get out of his own way.

All he had to do was to cut taxes, cut regulations, do a trade deal here or there and he was on easy street. The economy was taking care of itself. Without the inflamitory rhetoric spewing from his twitter account he might have been reelected by a huge margin. Instead he had this vendetta against vulnerable Americans. He spewed hate every day. He locked a bunch of children up. He alienated most of the country and immediatly lost the house. He alienated our global allies and immediatly damaged our global standing. He used tax payer money to try and extort an investigation into a rival and got his ass impeached. By doing that he forced at risk senators to go to bat for him which isnt going to play out well in November.

Now hes deep underwater threatening to use the military against American protesters and we have an active pandemic where, due in part to his horrific messaging early on, we're going to have over 200k dead by election day.

Litterally all this man had to do was nothing and he would have been a shoe in for a second term. Now he's got millions in the streets, his approval rating is the lowest its ever been, he's likely going to cost republicans several senate seats and almost assuredly democrats will keep the house.

Biden may have old man brain but he'll know when to get out of the way of a good situation vs Trump who cant resist derailing his own successes.

It wasn't that long ago that you'd hear people say it really didn't matter who you voted for, Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, it was all the same. D or R, nothing really changes all that much.

Trust me, people aren't saying that shit anymore.
That changed 12 years ago.

Yeah, after Bush left him with a dumpster fire, Obama rebuilt our economy, crafted a plan and put a team in place to prepare us for any future pandemic, and extended health care to millions of Americans

Ironically, Trump trashed the first two and has tried multiple times to trash the Affordable Care Act too---all the while shamelessly lying to the American people that he would fight to maintain the coverage of preexisting conditions.

Obviously Obama didn't do a good enough job of any of that if it all collapsed so quickly. Obamas economy couldn't even withstand a bad flu season without leading to the worst economy in history. He couldnt even place safeguards that would protect us against a pandemic that lasted 3 years. Boy, what a great leader.

Yeah, if only another president had over 3 years to do those things. But who are we kidding, most of you guys dont actually care what he does or doesnt do, most of you will defend anything he does because you dont actually care about policies, you care about the symbolism of having a strong man president with fascist undertones.

Let me figure out this Right-wing logic: Obama took over the collapsed economy of GWB and built it back up...

...BUT....HOLD THE PHONE!!!...

...he "obviously didn't do a good enough job" because after Trump took over, it collapsed all over again!!!

Damn that Obama!!! :)

Obama was a far greater fascist than Trump so stop using that term, you just don't know what it means. Has Trump forced you to do something or forced you to buy something under penalty of law? Didn't think so. Did Obama? Um, yeah. Multiple times.

No he wasnt and no I will not stop using that term. The ACA was ruled constitutional by the SC, with Roberts, appointed by Bush, being the tie breaking vote saying it was a tax. SO if taxes are fascist then we have been fascist since day one. But hey, healthcare or having military patrol the streets, obviously it is difficult to tell which one has more fascist aspects to it.

Seriously, just stop. All you ever do is complain about anything and everything Trump. It was the same with Bush. Its old and tiresome to the point that a 3 year old could accomplish it.

Define fascism if you're so confident in this position.

Um, Crazy? That post was in response to your complaint about Obama.

Define fascism if you're so confident in this position.

Well here is a handy checklist for ya.

The 14 characteristics are:

  1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

  2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

  3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

  4. Supremacy of the Military
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

  5. Rampant Sexism
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

  6. Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

  7. Obsession with National Security
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

  8. Religion and Government are Intertwined
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

  9. Corporate Power is Protected
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

  10. Labor Power is Suppressed
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

  11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

  12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

  13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

  14. Fraudulent Elections
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.
So lets see.
1) nationalism- check
2) human rights- check (this is the guy who said police should be rougher with criminals and mocked Eric Gardner choking at a rally, for instance, wanted the central park 5 to get the death penalty despite being innocent, etc etc)
3) scapegoats- check (immigrants)
4) supremacy of the military-check (wanting to hold parades, now putting the military on our streets)
5) sexism- check
6) controlled mass media- he doesnt have this but has made it more than clear he wants it
7) obsession with national security- check
8) religion and government intertwined- check (he isnt religious but certainly plays to it)
9) corporate power is protected- check (goes further back and Trump though)
10)- labor suppressed- check (also goes back further than Trump)
11) disdain for intellectual arts- check
12) obsession with crime and punishment- check
13) rampant cronyism- check
14) fraudulent elections- not happened yet, but if he loses there is no question he will be calling the elections a fraud.

And there are more check lists that are pretty similar, but you get the idea.

Um, Crazy? That post was in response to your complaint about Obama.
A singular complaint. You complain about Trump and complained about Bush for ANYTHING even if it contradicts your previous position. You wanted a nationwide lockdown 6 weeks ago. Now you are pissed to see what that looks like. Its totally disingenuous and reeks of political bias that was generated by MSNBC talking heads.

Bringing in the military to stop the civil unrest of unwarranted and uncontrollable rioting and looting to protect the public is not Fascism
It wouldn't be if the Governors requested assistance from the Feds.

In this case, it was the POTUS threatening the Governors with intervention for crying out loud!

Funny that TDS-deranged individuals randomly check things on their own personal Fascism checklist that are all up for debate and interpretation. It’s 100% biased BS

The police, mayor and governor are all chaotically fighting with each other

President Trump is going to win in an absolute landslide because of this.

Shocking to say that citizens who are presently scared shitless probably have more votes than those supporting anarchy and murder.

Anyway, Trump is polling very low and has just about bungled away a perfect situation in regards to the economy. He burned up the possibility to have moderate support from democrats by constantly being inflamitory. If he had he come out and not been a total douche he would likely have enough support to weather his mismanagement of these three crises instead he's deep under water even in republican leaning polls.

So when the president used the same Act to take down the KKK because governors weren't, was that fascism? If so, give me a double helping.
