This guy has no history of mental illness. By all accounts he was a functioning member of society, aside from being an obsessed left wing political operative. It then stands to reason that the constant barrage of left wing commentary regarding "traitor", "resist", and "Republicans are evil people" simply sprung him into action.

The guy who shot Giffords was a diagnosed schizophrenic who was obsessed with her for years and had no history of political leanings. This current guy was simply a good Democratic Party foot soldier.

"PP was given no special access to any materials, evidence or persons and due to case sensitivity, conducted only informal, limited interviews. The bulk of our report is based on statistics, prior research and Logos."

So they made their determination without examining any of actual evidence, without conducting any in-depth interviews with anyone of significance, and really by only looking at GIS databases and Rich's social media activities. The conclusions they reach are really astounding considering they had no access to evidence. They suggest the gun used to kill Rich was unregistered even though no gun was recovered. They suggest additional video of the crime scene is possible, yet note that the location of the crime scene makes it entirely possible that the suspect could have entered, committed, and exited the crime scene without being recorded. It's a bunch of BS funded by a GOP lobbyist, so it's laughable to suggest it's "independent":

"The Profiling Project is funded by Republican Lobbyist Jack Burkman who filed a lawsuit against D.C. Police demanding release of police records, including body cam and surveillance video, which isn't standard police policy in open homicide cases."
