Big 12 Conference launches “Big 12 Studios”, league’s first-ever 24/7 FAST channel, in partnership with Raycom Sports

September 20, 2024 - CHARLOTTE & DALLAS – Today, the Big 12 Conference and Raycom Sports launched Big 12 Studios, a new programming and content venture designed to expand and enhance the league’s storytelling efforts.

Big 12 Studios will create and deliver original programming and content to fans as a FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) channel across multiple major platforms, including planned launches on leading platforms early this Fall that will be announced soon, as well as major VOD platforms such as YouTube. Select programming from Big 12 Studios will also air across local TV stations throughout multiple Big 12 Conference markets, which include Gray Media’s Arizona’s Family Sports Network in Phoenix and Tucson, KSMO in Kansas City, and KMYL in Lubbock, Texas.

Big 12 Studios will feature a variety of programming, such as in-game footage, highlights from recent contests, replays of historic Big 12 Conference showdowns, and in-depth expert analysis. Original content will include profiles of current and former Big 12 Conference student-athletes, highlighting their stories on and off the field.

Big 12 Studios will also feature a weekly show, Inside the 12, which will be distributed on air in addition to the FAST channel and VOD platforms such as YouTube. Hosted by Pete Sousa and Madison Hock, this weekly preview show kicks off this fall, focusing on showcasing the upcoming weekend’s full slate of Big 12 football games. Following football season, Inside the 12 will evolve to spotlight and preview additional Big 12 sports.

“We are thrilled to partner with Raycom Sports to launch the league’s first-ever 24/7 channel,” said Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark. “Storytelling is at the forefront of everything we do and is a key part of our narrative and brand building efforts. Through Big 12 Studios, we have the capability to showcase our brand and deliver original programming to fans across the country.”

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to build new platforms with the Big 12 Conference” said Hunter Nickell, Chief Executive Officer of Raycom Sports. “It’s an exciting new chapter for Raycom Sports to bring Big 12 schools, athletes, and stories to their fans wherever they want it.”

The partnership brings Raycom Sports’ 45+ year history in producing and syndicating college sports programming for television, digital and social media platforms together with the Big 12’s powerful brands and championship history. Raycom Sports’ and the Big 12 Conference’s relationship spans back to the 1980s, when Raycom produced games for the Conference during its days as the Big Eight.

Raycom Sports is owned by Gray Media, which is the largest owner of top-rated local television stations and digital assets in the United States. Gray serves 113 television markets that collectively reach 36 percent of US television households.

Was too young to see him play football but I loved him in WCW. What life he's lived: College Football HOF, 5x All Pro, Super Bowl Champ, and memorable wrestling career. Sad to see him or anyone for that matter have to battle a disease like this.

Softball question

I’m taking some friends from Australia to the UCF Softball game on Saturday.

Is there anything beyond get tickets that I could/should do for them?

Want a great experience for them. They’ve been to UCF Football games in the past too.

Met them on a cruise 15 years ago and now they are UCF fans. They also are hitting up two lightning games and the Pride on Friday.

2025 baseball ranking/bracketology thread

RPI is the same as all 3-0 teams who played a series which resulted in 0-3 team.

Might as well get this started up now. KPI and RPI are the two most impactful rankings for college baseball and its selection process. Massey ratings, ELO, and a few others are also cool to look at but I don’t think the committee specifically looks at those as they say they do with RPI/KPI

I know it’s early. JWB

Also, a .500 record or better in the Big 12 will likely do the job, but I have higher aspirations for this team. Hopefully we’re looking at hosting projections rather than whether we are making tourney.

OT: High School football player turned down $750k offer to transfer to another HS

Rivals 4⭐️ and Alabama’s #1 2027 Recruit Cam Pritchett turns down a $750,000 Transfer Offer to Stay at Thompson HS.

In a move that’s making waves across the high school football world, 2027 4-star defensive end Cam, the top-ranked player in Alabama, has officially DECLINED a $750,000 transfer offer to leave Thompson High School.

The offer came from a high-profile Collective in a state that allows high school athletes to profit from NIL deals — something Cam would’ve immediately benefitted from with multiple big brands approaching him recently. But since NIL is still restricted in Alabama, staying meant walking away from both the transfer money and multiple NIL opportunities.

And still — he’s staying.

“First of all, I am so blessed and grateful to even be considered in that way. It’s really an honor and privilege that I do not take lightly or for granted,” Cam said. “Having said that, I truly believe that God has a plan for my career and for my life as long as I allow Him to guide my path. It’s important to me that my legacy is built on integrity, hard work, passion, and faith. I want to do that at Thompson.“

Cam’s decision wasn’t made lightly. It followed deep conversations with his family, coaches, and his recruiting mentor and trainer, Coach Isaac Hadac ( @coach_hadac ).

It also speaks volumes about his commitment to Thompson High School, one of the most dominant programs in the country. Under Coach Mark Freeman, Thompson has become a perennial powerhouse, with a strong culture rooted in discipline, character, faith in Jesus, and championship-level performance.

The Warriors are coming off another state championship season, and Cam is determined to help lead them to another.

As just a junior, Cam’s maturity and faith are already setting him apart — and not just as a football player.
