It's time we have a QB1 who is focused on UCF football in control of this team

When JRP came back in the game, after TC struggled, we scored 3 TD's in a hurry and made it a game. We even had the mo and a chance to win the game until the D crapped the bed. It's obvious JRP can be really good when he stays in control and the play calling keeps the game simple. But JRP has to work on his read progressions and passing accuracy this offseason. Improving his game management and passing game must be his primary focus if he wants to be QB1 next season. And he must learn and understand when and how to run the ball. He must be told that he has to work on and improve on these things and stay healthy to keep the QB1 role. We can't have a QB1 who puts his body on the line throughout the game. And nothing can get in the way including baseball. Let's be honest, it's time Gus took control of the QB situation, stops his wishy washy bs about how great all of these guys are (I'll give you a hint Gus, none of your QB's even made Honorable mention let alone first or second team AAC All Conference). And if the QB's (maybe Timmy?) aren't focused on being the best QB in the Conference (even a bigger challenge in the B12) then we need to add one in the portal who is. As we unfortunately learned this season (and especially with the debacle between JRP and Mikey), Coaches not players need to run the team.

Hypebeasts: Big 12 Partnering with A Bathing Ape @ B12 Championship

this was posted elsewhere but honestly the twitter embed buries the lede too much... i thought this was a worthwhile standalone post. Brett is making money moves. What is telling to me... the dude is not going to Japan and picking up bape or visvim or undercover shit himself... he has to have a pretty connected network of advisors making recommendations. Why BAPE of all designers unless Pharrell is in your ear??? it is such a random, cool partnership and i can't interpret that as anything but promising for the future of how he is positioning this conference.

long story short the big 12 championship will be dope and a must watch just to see some peek at how things are going to operate under Daddy

I am posting the full article below:

for the boomers, bape (a bathing ape) is a japanese streetwear brand that was pretty big in the early 2010s among the hip hop set. they make a nike dunk looking shoe that was pretty iconic for a while, as well as a signature camo pattern you've probably seen on a teenager at some point.

the owner of bape is a co-owner / designer of pharrell's brands as well and a frequent collaborator.

they do neat collabs and this will (i assume) play well on social media. it is really interesting for a football conference to partner with them, as they are not a traditional athletic brand nor do they really have a lot of history in that world (that i am aware of). it is definitely a 'deep cut' in terms of fashion nowadays and really signifies to me, at least, that BY 'gets it' in terms of really pushing the envelope with partnerships and brand appeal to young adults

here's a signature hoodie they make, so i assume they will use this sort of camo pattern:

***Transfer Portal/JUCO & Official Visit Hot Board 1.0***

The NCAA Transfer Portal doesn't officially open until Monday, but there have been plenty of announcements from players who say they will enter. Graduate transfers can enter the portal at any time.

I've spent the day compiling names that may be of interest to UCF. This will be ever changing as we're only scratching the surface of portal entries. I also included JUCO players. Players with an asterisk have announced UCF offers, though I would imagine there are several more, including Jimmy Horn, Grant DuBose, probably Christian Leary, Antonio Grier, etc.

It's a work in progress - I'll edit with player profiles, etc. as time permits. I have probably missed some names too.

This early list is heavier on WR and OL. There are a lot of FCS OL names - it's kind of a crap shoot at this point.

TE becomes a bigger question if Alec Holler leaves.

I would imagine there are more DL/LB on the radar, maybe have yet to enter. That is a big need.

DB is a question mark and could depend on current player retention.

UCF Players in the Portal

Punter/holder Andrew Osteen
- He started at punter the past three seasons (2019-21) and entered the season as starter, but after a couple shaky games he was replaced by newcomer Mitch McCarthy. He has still maintained holder duties and was fulfilling that duty at Wednesday's practice so I think he will still play on Saturday. That's not confirmed though.

Thoughts on Keene

Gus should have thanked him for his contribution this year and left it there. The only people allowed on that plane
should have been players wanting to compete for a Championship and play for each other. Gus sent a terrible message
to his players by allowing an uninjured Keene to travel and be on the sideline. Basically gave his teammates the middle finger and said his personal goal was more important than team goal. Would love to hear what his teammates are saying privately. Say what you want about JRP but he gutted it out despite a bad hammy and showed what real leadership looks like. Keene will always be tainted for quitting on his team before the biggest game of the season and there is no amount of spin that can change that.

Lots of quality photos from AP & USA Today:

Here are my photos, almost exclusively of fans (mostly the Tulane student body):

OT- Las Vegas golf help

I’m going back to Vegas in a few weeks and gonna take my clubs this time since my wife has a trade show one day and I’ll have time. Staying at the Wynn and would like to play there but I think it’s about $500. Been to Vegas probably 20 times but only played once and don’t remember where. I’ve heard good things about Las Vegas National but wanted to see if anyone here has any course suggestions or even better a hook up to a nice course.

UCF head coach Gus Malzahn talks about their upcoming game against Duke in the Military Bowl, which will take place Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. in Annapolis, Maryland at the home stadium of the Naval Academy.

UCF finished the regular season with a 9-4 record, falling on Saturday at Tulane in the AAC Championship Game.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Knights and Blue Devils. Malzahn previously matched up with Duke head coach Mike Elko during their SEC days - Malzahn obviously the former head coach at Auburn and Elko served as Texas A&M's defensive coordinator from 2018-21.

Best *potential* Cotton Bowl matchup for UCF

First off ... UCF is favored to lose to Tulane and the Green Wave have all the momentum.

But... Should UCF pull off the upset, I think Kansas State would be the most desirable matchup for the Knights.

I think UCF matches up poorly with Penn State. I hope the Rose Bowl takes the Nittany Lions and sends 'an' Ohio State University to the Orange Bowl again klempson. bammer would draw hypel in a toilet bowl rematch and free up Kansas State to play UCF in the Cotton.

Rose: Penn State/Washington
Orange: 'an' Ohio State University/klempson
Sugar: bammer/Hypel
Cotton: UCF/Kansas State

UCF can compete against KState. Penn State, I fear, will beat the brakes off the Knights.

It will be like watching the 1995 Outback Bowl all over again: Login to view embedded media
