CFPI says no tailgates for the CFPI game

College football fans won’t be able to bring their charcoal grills, coolers or anything else that resembles a tailgate to SoFi Stadium for the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday.

Tailgating will not be allowed on-site prior to the game between the Georgia Bulldogs and TCU Horned Frogs, according to the parking section of the SoFi Stadium website.

However, it does appear that the directive is coming from the College Football Playoff.

Normally, SoFi Stadium, the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers, does allow tailgating in "designating parking lots and other areas for ticketed guests who have purchased a tailgating pass." The website also mentions that it’s for "select events," which is generally football games.

College football and tailgating are two peas in a pod, but for the biggest game of the year, fans won’t be able to do what they have been all season long at their respective schools. ...

Remembering MacNorm - Another great UCF fan 🙏🏼

As I was thinking about Knight fans we've lost, I began wondering about @MacNorm. The last correspondence I had with him was in March 2021, shortly after Gus Malzahn was hired. He was excited about getting out to UCF games again, he had just purchased Tower Club tickets for the upcoming season. He enjoyed going to all the sports, including basketball and baseball.

I was just thinking I haven't seen him for a while. We'd always chat in person when we'd run into one another.

I Googled his name and just realized he passed in April 2021, a few weeks after his last communication with me. I feel bad that I didn't recognize this sooner.

Charge On in Heaven, Norman Lauterette. Thank you for being a friend.

Here's Norm at the meet-up we had prior to the 2007 NC State game in Raleigh:

OT: Miami NIL Booster goes on 48 hr twitter rampage (threaten to sue others)

Marc Daniels brought this up on his show today as Ruiz went on a 48 hr bender threatening anyone and anyone on twitter, including trying to sue them and getting banned from twitter for even asking him a question.

The REAL face of Miami Football (and Basketball) below...as just reading his timeline over past 36 hrs is pure nuts.

OT: Another Harvard Coach fired in Admission Scandal after sale of home

I give this guy some credit...tried to hide a bride to get a rich person's kid into Harvard via his Fencing Team.

Summary: Coach had a small 3/2 Home assessed at $549,000 and sold it for $989,000 to the father of a prospective HS student who wanted to get into Harvard and join the Fencing Team.

Father and his family never lived in the home...but the kid (surprise!) got into Harvard via the Fencing Team...and 17 months after the Dad purchased the home, he sold it at a loss of $325,000.

***Darin Hinshaw expected to be UCF's new OC/QB coach***

The other thread has been a long and winding road, but I'm hearing today the candidacy of UCF alum Darin Hinshaw is gaining steam.

Hinshaw of course is a former UCF QB who returned in 2021 to be an analyst under Gus. He left after last season to be the offensive coordinator at UAB. Past stops include Middle Tennessee, Georgia Southern, Memphis, Tennessee, Cincinnati and Kentucky.

OT: What's the deal with Alkaline Water? 💧

I've noticed a place in Altamonte Springs called "The Water Station" (436/434 intersection) and every time I pass by I see people going in and out getting refills on massive water jugs. I Googled about what the deal was, thinking it's just water, and I guess there's an alkaline water thing now. And tonight at Publix there was a massive display of alkaline water (BOGO).

I'm curious more than anything. Is anybody a proponent? There's supposedly a bunch of claimed health benefits.
