Would UCF make the cut for a 56 team super league?


Based on Herbstreit and other similar statements...
If things eventually settle out to a B1G and SEC super league with 28 teams per conference, does UCF make the cut?

Regardless of answer... Where do you think UCF is slotted in the cutoff list?
In other words...
How big would the super league need to be for UCF to be included?

"It's very, very hard for the ACC, the Big 12 and the Pac-12 to compete with the Big Two," Herbstreit later added. "And honestly, I think that's our future. I haven't spoken with anybody, but I think that's where this thing, when the dust settles, that's where we're going to be: with about 50 to 55 teams, half of them in the Big Ten, half of them in the SEC. For simplifying it, think AFC-NFC in the NFL. To have Saturdays, you're gonna have three divisions: West, Middle and East, or South, and that's what it's going to be. I think there's gonna be some very tough decisions, because you're gonna keep out a lot of teams that want to be a part of this future and they're not going to be invited. So it's going to be more of the haves than the have nots in big-time college athletics."

What's the Dungeon Cooking up this Independence Day Weekend?

I got a good bike ride in this morning and now I am smoking ribs using the 3.2.1 method and later I will be putting corn, wings and thighs on the smoker. Tomorrow we are taking the boat out on Fontana Lake and then tomorrow night I am loading the Rec Teq up with Apple and Oak pellets and doing a 15 -16 hour smoke on two large pork shoulders for the 4th. Half the meat will be turned into pulled pork and vacuum sealed for our month long Keys adventure starting next week.

Happy Independence Day

Tomorrow is Independence Day.

People often mistake it as just another holiday, and wish others a “Happy Fourth of July.”

I get that, but please remember the true meaning of the holiday, our hard fought and well-deserved independence from Britain, and wish others a Happy Independence Day instead.

It may be a perspective changer for someone who otherwise thinks of it as just another day off.

“Freedom isn’t free.”

Please do a little something more than in the past to help secure our freedoms as you walk through each day because as President Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Before everyone downvotes, I kind of do, just not for a few years. I like the rivalry and it will be blind hate if and when they join. Right now ,I think they’re about 5 years behind assuming they build their facilities. What needs to happen is we show them we’ve tried in every way possible to block them to enrage them and stoke the fires 🔥 May turn into USC v UCLA down the line.*

Just saw this on the kiddie board, thanks to Mr. Knightman...IMHO shade for the stadium would be amazing...I would prefer shade instead of the north side wings...If you had to choose one, which would you choose?

What is UCF lacking in?

Im not trying to be all doom and gloom with the recent de-commitments because I think we’ll be okay in the end, but I’m just wondering where is UCF failing to secure recruits and build the class? I know we’re in a talent rich state with a lot of competition with the big 3, but is it just the facilities and name brand that makes it hard for us to secure the big recruits compared to others?

Lets take a sobering look at CFB right now, the brands, the real brands are conglomerating right before our eyes. The new Big 12, Pac 12 and Big Ten media deals are all about to line up within the next couple years. Its well known that the SEC and Big Ten media deals are about to skyrocket into a different stratosphere than the rest of the country, every Blue Blood is accounted for in this except USC (Notre Dame also but they're independent and can get any matching deal they want, personally I think this next deal will be where Notre Dame joins its peers in a conference, the money being offered will literally be too much to refuse)

If you think USC will watch Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Notre Dame and Nebraska out earn them by 300% you are high, they will not let geography prevent their destiny if the elites of CFB truly are separating from everyone else, why? to slum it up with Wazzu and the lesser California nobodies because of 'regionality"? The funds will eclipse any travel cost if the figures turn out to be what was predicted. USC will 100% without a doubt join the Big Ten within the next 10 years, they will not be getting paid like they're Kansas State while the other elites get paid like Kings.

How much do conference championship mean?

Back in my day, it was all about winning a conference championship, if you ended up #1 in the nation, so be it. But every thing centered around winning your conference. The last 20 years we have diluted the conference championship, with teams making it to the CFP that didn’t even win their division.

So is a conference championship important any longer?

If it’s all about getting into the CFP, and conference championships no longer matter….

What if the Big2 push to have 2 (or more) auto bids to the CFP. 8 team play off with 4 of the teams from the $EC and B1G. Conference championship can become divisional championship weekend for a spot in the CFP. Atlanta would be 🔥🔥🔥 with UGA vs Tenn at noon and aTM vs Bama at 8pm that first Saturday of December.

does this make sense? Got to Vermont today and there was an amenity in my room with some funny looking jellybeans
